Standing at the Edge

There were so many things in his life that had been out of his hands, times when no one asked
if he agreed or approved. Being drafted during Vietnam, watching his wife die. While he had to
live, or try to live, with the repercussions of both he had accepted neither.

It was fitting then, he supposed, his last act would be one of his choosing.

"What is it going to be John?"

To know that his boys, both his boys, were safe was all he needed. Himself for Dean? Like
there was ever a choice. This he could accept.
