Author: Awwww, I’m in pain… soccer practice… fractured knee… (stoopid knee!) T-T but at least I have a reason to stay in side and write stories to pass the time.
Nothing new really just changed the title of this story
The military’s plan was to surprise attack the Ishvarlans.
But the surprise was pulled on the Amestrian soldiers when they started the first assault. Seems like Ishvarlans got some help in the weapons department and was taking there revenge from everything that was stolen from them by the military.
They’ve been fighting for many months now, far away from their family, though thankfully, knowing they’re out of harms way. Ed could just imagine them at home while little Trisha played with her dolls, wondering where her daddy and beloved uncle is but to young to really mind. And every time she’d ask in that cute, small voice of hers “where’s daddy?” and Edward would cringe at the thought of how Winry might smile, a fake happy smile but deep down inside she was sad, much like the way their mom smiled when dad left.
“It’s ok, daddy’s on a trip, he’ll be home soon.” She’d reassure her daughter.
Ed and Al ran as fast as there legs could carry them, trying to keep up with Mustang. The weight of their guns strapped to their backs just proved to be annoyances, they knew they wouldn’t use them but Roy insisted to take them anyways. Their alchemy worked just fine.
Roy ran inside a haft destroyed building, not the smartest ideas, you never know when it’s going to come down but the brothers fallowed anyways. What the three didn’t see while they were franticly running was three or four guys were fallowing them with large killing knifes. And in four easy gun shots, unheard over the roar of other loud sounds in the back ground, they were killed thanks to Hawkeye who was in a hidden position on a near by cliff. (She was the military’s most skilled marksman and sniper, spotting every detail and could pick off enemy soldiers from a concealed place.)
The boys lean up against the wall to catch their breathe. “What is with you two?” Roy was the first to speak. “You two’ve been fighting for how many mouths now and you’re still squeamish about killing people?! Use your damn alchemy!”
“Oh, soooo sorry Roy, but we don’t really make killing people a habit!!!” Ed responded
“Kill or be killed, that’s the rules to war, Edward!”
If Al let them talk any longer we’d have a scrap on our hands. “Umm this isn’t really the time or place-” But Al was cut off as a piece of the building started to crumble.
Edward grabbed Al and pulled him close to make sure he was safe. “… Defiantly not the place.” Edward repeated.
“Damn! I thought this place would hold for a little longer!” Roy shouted.
“Think again, lets go!”
“Were do we go, Ed?” Al asked.
Ed and Roy looked behind a partially destroyed wall. “Mmmmm… Look over there!”
“At what? That large pit in the ground?” Ed replied.
“If we can make it over there… well, we’ll lose our cover but I’d be easier for us to make an attack on them.”
“Think we can make it?” Al asked from behind.
“It’ll be ok, stay close.” Ed grabbed Al’s wrist so they’d stay together and made a dash to their next location. Needing to stop along the way when they were immediately fired at, Ed created a wall to protect them, and then another one after the first wall started to break down from the bullets damaging it.
It was times like these, though Al always regretted thinking this every time he did, but wished he was armor again. It would be easier that way; he could protect, if not himself, then his brother and could take care of himself, that way Ed didn’t have to worry about his so called ‘Baby brother’.
Roy signaled the brothers to fallow him as he held off the Ishvarlan soldiers. They where only a few steps away from their new destination, Edward heard one loud bang among the rest the commotion; one that was aimed at them…
Roy jumped into the split in the ground that he mentioned before and Al tumbled in after being roughly pushed, falling hard on his knees “Aww…” (I understand your pain dude)
“That was too close.” Roy said not looking at the two brothers. “Ok, this is where two you come in, I’ll go distract them again, while you guys show them what you’re made of by-”
“BIG BROTHER!!” Al shrieked. Roy’s attention was turn to the boys, his eyes open with shock. Edward was hunched over on his knees. Both hands clenching his left leg, blood gushing every where between his fingers. That only meant one thing…
He got shot.
He cried out, not with tears, Edwards never shed tears over pain but this pain was something different. It felt like his leg was on fire, possibly a side effect from the hot bullet that left a hole in his flesh.
Al was scared; all he could do was watch, he didn’t know what to do. “Brother…!” He cried and placed a hand on his back. “Please… y-you’re going to be ok. Please don’t leave me!”
He felt the heat from Al’s hand on his shoulders but it wasn’t like the burning sensation in the leg, it was more comforting. But this was the fast sensation he felt... before he pasted out…
