A/N: I don’t know how long this story will be but I've toyed with this idea for a while and I'm going to put in into a story, hope you like. But let me know if it's worth continuing.

Breaking The Rules

"You can't do that."

"Yes I can."

"No, you will get expelled."

"No, I wont."

"Be realistic…and besides, you'll get him fired."

"Nobody will be fired or expelled…I'm smarter than that."

There was a brief silence and then a soft sigh,

"You're brave…"

"You don’t really think so."

"No, I think your stupid actually, but it is a fine line."

Another silence and then the school bell rang signalling the end of the break and the school children began dispersing to the fourth period. Tala stood and closed his eyes a moment and then he looked at Bryan,

"You may think I'm stupid Bryan, and maybe I am…but I don’t think I'll regret it in the least." He smiled ever so slightly.

Bryan stood and leaned close near Tala's face and he smiled,

"IF…you get what you want." He pointed out.

Tala looked at him, his cold blue eyes looking directly into the light grey eyes of his friend,

"I don’t appreciate your negativity Bryan, where is the support? Your supposed to be my best friend…"

"Yeah…right." Was Bryan's dull response and Tala smirked.

"Boys…to class." A teacher intervened from the hall entrance.

They both turned to look at her and then started walking toward her and the entrance as if their conversation hadn't just happened.

Tala walked calmly to his fourth period English class, the halls moderately empty as he was late for his class from being held up talking to Bryan.

The large prep school was eerie when it was quiet, the large halls creating an echo as Tala walked. His leather formal shoes making a sound every time it connected with the tiles. He carried his single book in his hand and walked with an air of importance and confidence that was hardly ever matched. He smiled slightly as he reached his classroom door and he looked through the glass and down to where the teacher stood reading from a textbook, the class seemed very intrigued.

He licked his lips almost nervously, mentally preparing himself for this hour-long period of ancient poetic scriptures. Tala opened the door and went inside, the entire class instantly turned to see the late comer, most didn't seem surprised and lots shook their heads and turned forward again.

Tala closed the door and watched as the teacher looked up at him,

", perhaps I should have the faculty advance you a watch, so you could be to class on time."

Tala smirked,

"What makes you think its time that makes me late."

He received a look that resembled anger but wasn't entirely so much as irritation,

"Sit…down, ." his voice was stern now.

Tala's smiled faded but he had a glint in his eye as he watched the teacher look back at the book in his hand,

"Yes Mr. Hiwatari." He answered and moved to his seat slowly.

"So…I expect the essay in by Monday and no later."

Tala watched Kai closing his book and moving behind his desk to pack his bag. The classroom was clearing as Tala made his way down the stairs to Kai and he watched as Kai sat and removed a black leather diary and he checked his next appointments.

Tala waited until he heard the door close and then walked to the desk,

"Mr. Hiwatari…may I have a word?"

He smiled when auburn eyes looked at him, but it was a fake smile and Kai saw this and raised his eyebrows,

"You'll have to read over the Act and Scene by yourself Mr. Ivanov, it isn't my fault that you can't keep time." He said bluntly and focused back on what he was doing.

Tala gritted his teeth and then narrowed his eyes before a more real smile replaced it and he moved to the other side of the desk and half-sat and half leaned on the desk, his legs crossing slightly and he leaned back on his hands,

"I don’t want to talk about your essay…I have something else to talk about." He informed.

He saw his English teacher looking at how he was sitting and heard an irritated sigh,

"What is it Mr. Ivanov?" he looked at Tala and stood up.

He gave Tala a look that warned Tala to get off his desk and Tala complied but stood close to him,

"I was just wondering if I could have a private English study with…you." He smiled.

Auburn eyes narrowed at Tala,

"I think that you should go or you'll be late for your next class." His voice was stern again as he looked at the slightly shorter boy and then turned and began packing again.

"You wouldn't like a private study with me Kai?" Tala asked boldly.

Kai immediately stopped what he was doing and turned to Tala,

"Your out of line Ivanov, if you don’t wish to be suspended then I suggest you leave now."

Tala's smirk switched to anger at being rejected,

"Yes…sir." He sounded sarcastic and turned and started walking away but stopped at the first step, "Is it just because I'm a student that you wont consider it." He didn't look at Kai.

Kai looked at Tala and frowned,

"I'm not going to answer that and I'm going to forget about this conversation…I suggest you take my offer and cash in…before I change my mind."

Tala walked up the stairs, grabbing his book at his desk and walked out and slammed the door.

Bryan and Tala were walking through the park on their way home as they always did, but Tala seemed very distracted,

"You were almost a full fifteen minutes late for Physics Tala…that broke your ten minute record and pissed Ms. Kempton off."

Tala shook his head,

"I don’t care…"

"I noticed…so what happened in English?" Bryan smiled thinking he already knew the answer.

Tala's expression went cold and he knew he was right.

"He blew you off, how strong did you come on?" he asked grinning.

They passed a couple as they walked and then Tala sighed,

"Two years and three months Bryan, that is far too long to be crushing on some jerk off teacher." Tala sounded like he was having some self-loathing issues.

Bryan laughed,

"I could have told you that…oh wait…I DID!" Bryan laughed harder and he fell onto the grass.

Tala watched him while seething inwardly but he said nothing.

Bryan calmed after a while and sat up on the grass,

"I told you that when you were fifteen, and two years later you only realise it? You need to move on, there are other gay guys Tala, his not the only one." Bryan looked at him.

"I didn't mean it like that Bryan…" Tala started walking again.

Bryan frowned and followed him quickly,

"Wait…what did you mean?"

Tala's eyes narrowed again,

"I don’t think it’s a crush Bryan, it was two years ago, but now…its love." He said softly.

Bryan looked worried now and he stopped Tala,

"Bullshit…don’t start telling yourself that. You have to stop, its too much of it already. How many times have you cried because you wanted him, or called me and told me about one special thing he said to you in class?"

Tala pushed Bryan off,

"That was before, I'm older now…"

"And all you've done is convinced yourself that because your older he'll notice you. Tala, he doesn't like you, he has somebody in his life you know that. And his a teacher, he wont let himself notice you anyway."

"Your wrong!" Tala shouted and Bryan back stepped.

Tala shook his head,

"Fair enough, I got carried away when I was younger. Crying was pathetic and taking his good teacher comments to head was juvenile. But I am older and I have new ways of getting his attention." Tala walked closer to Bryan,

"He may be a teacher and he may have…a lover…" Tala obviously didn't like saying that, "…but he is still a man. And I have what any man wants, youth, sex appeal and beauty." He said confidently.

"Gay men you mean?" Bryan frowned.

"No, men in general, whether it’s a man or a woman, they would all love to fuck a gorgeous younger person…its all relative." He smirked.

Bryan sighed, he had to admit that Tala had a point and didn't seem as clue less as he once was,

"So what now…he already said no Tala."

"I barely tried and I wasn't very direct either…its all about timing."

"Timing?"

"Yes…timing."

Tala sat at his computer in his bedroom and he signed into his IM and started talking to a few people. Bryan logged in and a message popped up from him.

- Hey Tala, you'll never guess what I have.

Tala smiled slightly,

-What do you have…an erection? Did you finally go to the doctor about your 'problem'?

Tala laughed at his joke and waited for a response.

-Just for that you can forget about what I was gonna tell you…

The message had a sad face at the end and Tala smiled.

-Okay, I'm sorry, what was your important bulletin?

-I just got 's IM from someone online, some student who he used to tutor via email. I told her that your crushing on him and she said to give you his addy.

Tala blinked several times as his heart rate had increased almost painfully for a moment then he placed his slender fingers on his keyboard.

-Well, are you going to give it to me?

Bryan almost heard the angry demand and he just shook his head.

-Fine, but I'm signing out because I don’t need to get the cold shoulder when your talking to him.

-Give the damn thing to me already!

Tala replied harshly, his hands actually shaking slightly but when the addy came up he smiled and immediately forgot about Bryan and went to add Kai.

Tala's heart skipped a beat when his Wolf666 was accepted and Kai appeared as online.

-Who is this?

Tala smiled now,

-I'm a student at the high school where you teach.

He waited for a reply, his hands actually damp.

-There are no students at the school who have my address.

-Once someone knows it…any one can obtain it Kai. Tala responded cleverly.

Tala almost felt that Kai knew who it was and he was right.

-Ivanov?

-How'd you guess?

There was a small wait and Tala wanted to throw his laptop at the wall….then…

-How did you get this address?

-From a friend. Can we talk about more interesting things. Tala was impatient.

-I shouldn't be talking to you at all.

Tala became irritated.

-Why, I'm a person when I'm not a student Kai. Just another person and that’s all you should look at it like. I may be in school, but that doesn't mean I'm too immature for you.

The pause was longer now and Tala felt his throat constricting, then…

-So then I was right in assuming you were coming on to me this morning.

Now Tala didn't know what to say, he hadn't thought Kai was so slow.

-Yes, I was. Obviously not strong enough. You cant deny it Kai, that I'm attractive, more so than your lover even. I know because I've seen him. Blonde really doesn't suite you…

The answer was quick now.

-If I didn't know better I'd say you've been stalking me.

-Don’t avoid the subject Kai, if you weren't so blind you'd know that I've wanted you since the tenth grade.

-I think you need to stop , your making it very hard for me not to report to your parents let alone the school board.

Tala narrowed his eyes.

-I'll stop for now, I don’t want to upset you. But think about it…no one would know…no one but me…and you…

Tala signed off and took a breath, balling his damp hands into fists. He smiled, he hadn't said too much and hadn't said too little…now he had to wait.
