So Then I Ran
by: Angel del Silencio
So much…so much…
I tried so hard to please.
But you…you stopped and just walked out
Alone I stood
for hours waiting for your return
So much…so much…
I wanted you to come back
To me…to me…
To hug…to kiss…to tuck me in
I stood right there in that same spot
I waited…waited…
but you never came back.
So then I cried
all day and night.
Alone I stayed in the dark
and cried some more
because it was so cold.
Alone…alone…
in that small corner
my eyes…they dried
because he never loved me.
Never…Never…
Cursed my soul and being
for merely existing…
I thought you loved me enough to take me away
but you flew..you flew...
and left me to stay.
Alone…alone I cried
I looked to the sky
Asking for wings to fly…fly…fly…
and find you so I wouldn’t have to run…
But my words to the wind they fell.
They flew away from me…just like you
And I cried…one last time
I ran so far
Through snow I ran and ran
Away…away…
so far away…
My frozen tears…they fell
And upon a great white wolf they stayed
And he became my friend
And now I no longer have tears for you
or anyone…
And to say goodbye my feelings
I gave up
