Chapter 5: A Night in Shuggazoom

Disclaimer: I don't own Super Robot Monkey Team or Get Ed. I decided to stop my dialogue disclaimer and do normal disclaimers since I started to get bored with 'em.

Wow, lot has changed, starting with the feuds of obeying the rules or not and finishing with the flamers. Well, I'm always late for everything, but I still can have a say in all of this! Really people, think before you act. You signed up in Fanfiction, you obey their rules, not yours. If you want to obey your rules, then make your own website or go to another writing website. There's a reason someone made Freewebs and Pizco, y'know!

And flamers, some of them are enforcers of those rules (the others just enjoy to flame). Look at their profiles and you'll see the same things you do when you accept the terms to make a new story, only with a few bad words here and there. But like I go with them, I also go against them. If they flame a story, they should tell what's wrong with it. The list of ten only tells half a story. They say what's wrong with a story in a review, they tell the whole story.

And really, what's with the bad spelling and grammar? You go to school, don't ya? But do you write the same way you do in school? People don't see potential in a story if you write it with bad grammar. Mostly, they just read a bad disclaimer and just leave without starting to read the story. There's no reason to cry because of a flame or write bad grammar. Buy a dictionary, get spelling programs, talk to your English Teacher or something because when you grow up and if you want to be an author, you'll have to obey the rules of literature. You can't use song lyrics without authorization, you can't have bad grammar and there are no buts. So mature, people! You have to grow to understand this one day or another!

Wow, this is a testament! Sorry guys, I'm a shy one, but I had to speak my mind with these fights. Days after I PMed some of my friends of this situation, I started to think differently 'bout the situation and look on the bright side of it. Mature and follow the rules! If you don't like following rules, then why are you here in Fanfiction anyway? Okay, no more long Author's Notes (I hate 'em, but I had to) and I'll start the story.

Frankie and AJ searched shelves to see if anything was missing. They had to prepare for the next day; they had to return to Progress City.

"So, we go to school..." Frankie started.

"Then to the Dojo," AJ continued. They always finished each other's sentences, like all of their cousins did. "Frankie, do you have that tiny device to find your cousin's hover-scooter? Burn and Fizz never told us where the Dojo was." The ten-year-old looked next to her bed. Cad's bow and arrows were there. "I think I forgot to give Cad his weapons."

Frankie looked at her bed. She too had forgotten to give her grandfather his weapons. "Me too. C'mon, let's go give them to Grandpa. He'll go to Progress City to find them if we don't give 'em back."

Both ten-year-olds grabbed the bows and arrows and left their room. They entered another bedroom where Katelynn and Jennifer were.

"Thought you'd be packing or playing video games," said the teenage Blaze.

"Yeah, we were, but we saw Grandpa's bows and arrows. We're gonna give 'em back," said Frankie with a grin.

"If Grandpa lets you keep them, you'll turn into a little evil genius of archery," Katelynn said. "Years later, you'll follow Fizz's footsteps and you'll turn into a genius. When you turn eighteen, you'll turn like Nehemiah, a guy who wanted to be an evil genius, but saw the light... literally."

Frankie laughed. Nehemiah was intelligent, but got in lots of trouble with Ezra. Just like Fizz does with Burn, she always gave him trouble, in and out of work. "You gave me a job opportunity. Thanks!" She and AJ started to walk towards another door.

"Hey wait! Don't you dare do that!"

"Too late! Bye!" said AJ as she closed the door.

"A joke turned into the real thing. What were you thinking, Kate?" Jennifer asked.

"That she was a little girl who wanted to be an engineer like her Aunt Monarch." The brunette rubbed her head sheepishly. "Oh boy..."

"Burn, Fizz, you're gonna love Shuggazoom," Chiro said as they walked around Shuggazoom Park.

"Yet we're gonna miss Inaku and Progress City," whispered the purple monkey. Suddenly her spine tingled and she felt a weak pulse. 'Did you felt that?'

'What?' asked the brown monkey.

'Y'know, a pulse. Something bad is coming towards us.'

"Where should we start?" Jinmay asked, looking around for a place of choice.

The pulse was getting stronger each second for Fizz. "How 'bout somewhere far from here?"

"It's decided," said Chiro. "We're going to the Arcade."

Chiro and Jinmay passed a dark alley. Fizz ran behind them, feeing the pulse stronger there. Burn, after seeing his girlfriend run from the alley, took a glance towards the alley. It was dark, like all alleys at night, nothing unusual there. He took a closer glance and heard some steps and metal crashing towards the ground.

'Fizz, you're right. Come here,' he mind-talked.

The purple monkey walked towards the alley's entrance. She heard the same things Burn did. 'There's someone here that robbed something. Y'know what to do?'

Burn nodded. He lashed his tail towards his partner. She grabbed it with her own tail and pulled.

"Anyway, ever since an "incident", the Arcade belongs to a girl named Layla..." Chiro continued his story without noticing the pair had stopped.

A masked man with two black purses ran out of the alley. He was looking behind himself and did not notice the couple's tail in the middle of the alley's entrance. He tripped and fell on his face.

Burn walked towards the man and grabbed the purses that had fallen. "A thief... typical."

The masked man turned when he heard a monkey speak. "New monkeys?"

"Can I?" Fizz asked, looking at the brown monkey.

The brown monkey nodded. It was his favorite part when they get a thief.

"Ice Beam!" Fizz's blasters activated and shoot a white beam towards the man's feet.

The man tried to step up and even sit, but he could not do it. The purple monkey had not only frozen his feet, but his legs and torso as well.

"Hey Chiro, ya looking for a thief?" called Burn.

Chiro looked behind and saw the man and the two monkeys. "What did you two do?"

Two teenage girls ran out of the alley. They looked down and saw the thief and two monkeys. The brown monkey was holding their purses.

"The new monkeys stopped him!" exclaimed the blond one. She grabbed her purse and petted the purple monkey's orange helmet. "Thank you so much!"

"Yeah, thanks!" The black haired one grabbed her purse and petted the brown monkey's black helmet. She ran off with her friend behind her.

"Okay... that was weird and I didn't saw the whole thing," said Chiro. "C'mon, let's go." The group walked away from the alley.

"Hey, what 'bout me?!" the masked man yelled. "I have a wife and two kids!"

"Think of something better!" the monkeys shouted.

"What?!"

The Arcade was full of children. New and better games surrounded the whole arcade. The place was re-done completely, without a trace of its previous owners.

"Here ya go," said a teenage girl who was behind the counter. She was wearing a black shirt with a white jacket and blue jeans. Her navy blue hat covered her hair, but a strand of black hair was in the middle of her green eyes. She gave the little boy some golden tokens. "Enjoy, Gaby!"

"Sure. Thanks, Layla!" The boy ran off, searching for his friends.

Ever since Ma and Pa "left", Layla was the new Arcade's manager and only employee. The children grew very fond of her because she had an inner-child even if she was a teenager.

Between the racket of the video games' music and children's laughter, she heard a phone ringing and she felt her pants' pocket vibrate. She picked up her black cell phone and answered.

"Mom?! What is it?" she answered. "No. 'Kay, I won't. No, Dad... maybe a little. I won't, I'll try and control myself."

The group entered the noisy arcade. Layla looked at them. She looked back at the arcade and laughed.

"Yeah Mom!" She laughed. "'Kay, 'kay, bye!" She closed her cell phone and tried to calm her laughter. Layla looked at the human and "monkey" couples. "Hey Chiro! Hey Jinmay! Hey... new monkeys?"

"Hey Layla!" Chiro said. "The new monkeys, a really long story which I still need to hear." He glared at the two monkeys. They smiled nervously at the girl, not daring to look at Chiro. "They're Burn and Fizz."

She stared at the two monkeys. 'New model for robot monkeys?' she thought. "Get why you call the brown monkey Burn, but why the purple one Fizz?"

"No, she didn't!" Burn said wide-eyed. He looked at his friend. She had a smug smile on her face. "You're not gonna..."

'Later.' Fizz walked out of the arcade.

"Did I insult her or something?" asked Layla.

Chiro, Jinmay and Layla looked at the brown monkey for an answer. "You asked; you get your answer."

"Girl, what did he say?" whispered the arcade manager.

"Just look." Jinmay pointed at the arcade's window.

Fizz activated her blasters. She took a long and deep breath. "Bulles!" Her blasters threw many white orbs to the sky. The white energy disappeared and revealed bubbles.

"Oh... so she can create bubbles?" the capped girl said. "Not much of a power. Like a young kid's power."

"She has water powers, lady!" the brown monkey fumed.

The manager looked at the fumed monkey. "What did ya say?"

Burn put a paw on his face and shook his head. "Why am I even trying?"

"Hydro Gun!" Her blasters threw a line of water to the sky. She deactivated her weapons and looked at the falling water.

"'Kay, so she has water powers. Was that what you were trying to tell me, Burn?" the girl asked the monkey.

He did not respond.

"Burn?" She looked down at the brown monkey. He was looking at the window -- stunned about the performance his girlfriend was giving.

Fizz raised her paws towards the falling water. The water stopped. She separated her paws and the water split in two. She separated her fingers from each other and the two waters split into lots of small waves of water.

The water flew up to the bubbles and entered them. The filled bubbles started to fall. "Ice Ray!" Fizz's blasters activated again and threw a white energy that hit all of the bubbles and froze them.

"Burn, did you know that she could do that?" asked Jinmay.

He did not answer again.

"Burn?" The boy looked down and saw that he was not there. "Burn?"

"Fire Ball!"

"Figures." Chiro looked back at the window and saw that Burn had entered the performance.

Fire orbs hit the bubbles and the frozen bubbles exploded. They created fireworks without the rockets.

Wild cheers and claps were heard. Jinmay, Chiro and Layla looked behind and saw that the kids were actually looking at the performance.

Sparks exploded and smoke was created. Multiple coughs were heard in the smoke.

"Woah... it's five times worse than before," Ol' Skool said as he cleared up the smoke.

"No, I think it's six," coughed Loogie.

"Nah, it can't be," said Ed as he kneeled down to the black metal boxes. "It's three since the smoke was from the welder."

"Ed, welders don't make smoke," Deets said.

"People, it's seven times worse, so stop arguing and start fixing. Jeez!" exclaimed Dr. Pinch.

The couriers and their mentor were fixing the time teleporter, but the metal boxes that contained the engine and cables kept shooting sparks when activated, thus turning the metal boxes into pitch black.

"We'll never be as good as Fizz with mechanics," Ol' Skool said. "For all we know this teleporter isn't broken, but shooting sparks all around makes it."

Deets thought of something. "Or maybe it just makes it appear broken."

The boys looked at her. She was onto something, but how did she knew?

"Trust me, if my parents are programmers, they run into mechanics. The teleporter must have an overload."

"That might be it," the old man said. "But the question is: how and who overloaded it?"

Chiro, Jinmay and the two monkeys walked next to some apartments and building. The small shops were close and the only lights that were visible were the ones of some windows and the light poles.

"How'd you do that?" Jinmay asked the purple monkey.

"My grandpa taught me," answered Fizz.

"Your grandfather?!" exclaimed Chiro. "So your powers are from generation?"

"No, but close," the brown monkey said.

Two pairs of big eyes looked at two men who were walking in circles with their hands behind their backs. Their footprints had created a circle in the sand.

"What else could we be forgetting?" asked a dark skinned man. The man was bald, except for the black ponytail behind his head. His dark orange eyes looked at the sandy ground and the footprints created by him and his partner. A cold wind pushed his red African poncho with a yellow flame line and a scarf with waterfall and fire design. On his left arm, he had a solid gold band and two red scars. On his right arm, he had two black scars. He also had blue jeans that were torn below his knees.

"Malik, have you done any new fire or water attacks?" his partner asked.

"No," he answered in an African accent. "Have you?"

"Of course not." Another cold wind blew. "Lefeufroid, arrĂȘtent svp cela! Coldfire, stop that please!"

Malik thought for a moment. He and Cad taught their grandchildren in a young age. He learned about his powers when he was an adolescent. His grandson learned about his powers when he knew how to read. If he taught Brandon and Frances in their youth, the powerful they will become and the secrets of the Gift will be revealed to them faster than Malik and Cad or even Israela and Kotak. He and Cad knew the secrets, but they were not going to tell their grandchildren nothing until they figured it out by themselves. They were smart; they will figure it out fast. The only thing he, Cad, Brandon and Frances had to figure out was what were they forgetting about attacks."When was the last time we practice combined attacks, Cad?"

"Since the last time we visited the Kalani Desert. Why do you ask, my friend?" Cad knew why. He and the African had both powers of the Gift. Their grandchildren's powers were separated. His granddaughter with water and Malik's grandson with fire. Combination attacks of fire and water were stronger. Cad and Malik were stronger. Brandon and Frances had to be even stronger than them, combine attacks and be together physically, mentally and emotionally for the greatest and strongest attacks in the history of the Gift's generations.

The African turned to the two kids. "Brandon and Frances, we're going to teach you two how to combine attacks." He looked down and saw that his grandson and the redheaded girl were far away from him. "Brandon? Frances?"

Malik and Cad ran to the next mountain of sand to get their grandchildren, who were leaning against something.

"It's too hot!" whined a small and young Frances. Even if she had a white tank top and short blue jeans, she found the Kalani Desert too hot for her. She put her hand close to her eyes to block the sun from her sight. She looked all around and saw a dark yellow barrier made of bricks that stopped the sandy winds from entering the village/desert. She looked down and saw African children playing with a ball. 'No matter how far in the future, they won't change. But neither does the sun. Ugh! How can they survive this heat?!'

"At least Grandpa has a Pola, right Coldfire?" A young Brandon looked at what he and Frances were leaning at. A big blue turtle with water-based designs on his shell. He had a hole on his shell that was surrounded by ice spikes that separated the shells designs. Coldfire had light blue around his black eyes, like a mask. He had an ice spike on his tail.

The Pola responded by shooting a cold smoke in the air. The children closed their eyes and felt the cold air fall on them. Frances never liked the intense heat, but Brandon did not mind it at all. It was like the heat was like cold for him. Whatever he had on -- even his black short-sleeved shirt with short black paints, he never felt the intense heat.

Suddenly, the two got hit with a fan each. They moaned and rubbed their heads. They looked up and saw the African and his French friend.

"Hey... Grandpa..." Frances moaned.

"So nice... to see you... Grandpa," said Brandon as he opened his eyes and saw his grandfather glaring at him. "Heh, what we you sayin'?"

Cad sighed. He had some discipline to do with those kids. "We are going to combine attacks. Since Malik and me have both powers of the Gift and you two have it separated, you two have to combine attacks for a strong result. Since we both have both powers, it is rarely when we combine attacks. You two on the other hand, have to do it frequently."

"Huh?" The children tilted their heads, not comprehending any word the man had said.

"We're going to do a little performance, if you will," explained Malik. He and Cad turned their backs to each other and walked. 'One behind the other?'

'Of course,' Cad mind-talked.

The two kids and Coldfire looked left and right, then at each other. They hoped it was not as hard as they were thinking.

"Malik, first move."

"Right," he said. Malik took a deep breath. "Bellen!" His hands glowed white and bubbles shot up to the sky.

"Pistolet de l'Eau!" Cad united his hands together and pointed his index fingers to the sky -- like he had a gun. Blue energy covered his hands and shot water to the sky.

"Cauda Da Agua!" Malik jumped. His legs changed into a red fish's tail. He hit the water with his tail and split into drops of water. His back glowed black and black wings appeared. The wings had like a fire design above it with three orange ovals inside. Below it, the wings had like a curved oval that resembled water and it had three light blue river designs inside. His tail disappeared and flew down.

Cad extended his arms and waved them to create circles. The drops of water reunited in two sides and turned into water circles. Cad stopped moving his arms and separated his fingers. The water circles separated into lots of water and entered the bubbles. "Faisceau De Glace!" White energy froze the filled bubbles.

"Le feu Orbs!" Malik created fireballs that hit the bubbles and exploded creating like a cold fireworks.

Loud claps and hollers were heard around them. Cad and Malik looked down. Their grandchildren were clapping, but they were not the only ones. They looked below the sandy mountain and saw the habitants of Kalani yelling and clapping.

"Both our grandfathers taught us combination moves. Some look like performance, but they're really powerful attacks if near."

"Right..." Chiro did not believe that. The fallen ice looked invisible after they exploded; the ice could not cause much harm.

Some alarms burst out loud. Two gunshots went next with mixed with fallen glass and people shouting. The group looked at the building next to them. It was a bank. The windows showed people on the ground with their hands on their heads. Only three men were standing: two in black with guns pointing at another man who was behind the desk grabbing money and putting it on a sack. The glass behind the desk was shattered with two bullets that were on the wall.

The bank manager gave one of the men the bag of money. They shouted something and walked backwards to the door so they can still face the people. The men opened the door and exited the bank.

"Come on, let's go!" shouted the man with the bag of money. "Before they call--"

"The Monkey Team!" his partner yelled.

"Yeah, them. Let's go."

"No, the Monkey Team, there."

The man turned and saw two monkeys pointing at them with blasters, a boy with a thunderbolt in his hand and a girl with metal hands. "So Chiro, you and your girlfriend have new monkeys. I heard from Louis that the purple monkey froze him. He's still frozen, you know?"

"Instead of telling us the obvious, give us the money and no one gets hurt."

"Yeah, right. Like we'll give up our--"

"Chiro Spearo!" He threw the thunderbolt at the bag. The thunder spear got the bag, broke the window and clung to the broken glass and wall behind the desk.

"C'mon, let's get outta here!" The man's partner ran to the left of the bank.

"Icewall!" Fizz threw a white energy at the ground. The ice grew up to create a wall.

"Let's go the other--"

"Do you think that's a good idea?" said Jinmay.

The men looked at the right and saw a big wall of fire. They sighed. They were going to have an express ticket to prison for that.

"Grandpa Cad!" The ten-year-old girls knocked at the French man's door.

The door slid open. "What is it, young ones?" asked Cad.

"We forgot to give your weapons back," said AJ as she and Frankie handed the bows and arrows to Cad.

"Keep them."

"What?" Frankie asked. "You want us to not only have 'em, but bring them to Progress City."

"Yes," Cad nodded. "A gift for me to you two. Protect yourselves with them."

"Yeah, Frankie. When we go to school and if there's a bully, we can shoot and scare him with ancient bow and arrows," joked AJ.

Cad laughed. "I have my reasons, Alexandra Janika. Just keep them in their holders and only use them for emergencies."

The group returned to the Super Robot. Burn and Fizz were convinced that Shuggazoom was more dangerous than Progress City... when Bedlam was around!

Sprx, Antauri and Nova could not find a place to make a temporary room since they were tired. So they decided to put some blankets on the floor of the Command Room until they could find a room in the Super Robot. Gibson was still in the lab making the hypothesis for the reason Burn and Fizz could have powers. Otto had fallen asleep after putting the utensil family to "sleep".

Antauri told the group to go to sleep. Sprx joked about leaving the new monkeys alone in the Command Room, but Antauri -- taking it literally -- told Sprx that they would not do anything while the Monkey Team slept. The Monkey Team left the Command Room, but Sprx was the last one and shut the lights off. He looked at the sleeping couple, only to notice orange eyes looking at him leaving.

"Okay kid, what're you gonna do?" Sprx asked as he stopped and turned to where the blankets were.

"Sleep," the brown monkey answered.

"If you do anything funny, the Robot will catch it. It has cameras everywhere including outside."

"Thank you for telling us that," said Fizz. "But I'm trying to sleep you two. Good night!" She covered herself with a blanket.

The red monkey left the Command Room to his red tube.

'Outside too?! This is a bonus!' the purple monkey thought.

'What'll we do now? Wait till everyone goes to sleep?' asked Burn.

'Maybe. Now go to sleep!'

Hours passed and the Monkey Team was asleep. Fizz had woken up, but was having a difficult time waking her partner.

"Burn? C'mon, wake up!" She shook him roughly, but no avail. She slapped him with her tail, still no avail. 'Do you want me to wake you up the other way?!' She activated her blasters and pointed them closely to his face. "Your fault. Hydro Gun!" The blasters threw water at the monkey's face.

The brown monkey woke up and stood up. "Couldn't you wake me like every girlfriend should?"

'I did. I shook you, I hit you with my tail and I threw cold water at your face. That's how we do it.'

'Whatever, let's go.'

Both monkeys ran to the computer. Some buttons were blinking, but the screen was shut down.

"Super Robot, we know you can hear us," Fizz told to the screen.

"We just need a favor from you, if you don't mind," her partner said.

The screen activated and started to type something. "What will I receive in return of your favor, time travelers?"

"What ever you need."

"And what is this favor you two ask?"

"Each night when the Monkey Team isn't looking, we want the videos of what any of them do and create one video for us," Fizz explained. "Burn was watching Sprx leave so we could start early, but Sprx noticed and we had to sleep until the Monkey Team went to sleep."

"Like the video of the training?"

"And the one of us looking at Shuggazoom at night," Burn said.

"But what is it that you want?" asked the purple monkey.

"I want the safety of my team and the city. I want to get rid of the Skeleton King and Velina. I saw what you and your courier team did with the giant tower in Progress City and you even saved me. I am grateful for that and the team returned the favor. When we returned to Shuggazoom, it needed our help. When Velina resurrected the Skeleton King, he wanted to destroy the living. The Monkey Team called their allies, but did not wanted you humans in the war because they did not wanted you humans to be harmed in the war. I put your team in the roll call of allies, but were discarded for protection... or so I thought."

"What happened then?"

"I remember in the battlefield a light appeared from nowhere..."

The Monkey Team and some allies were hidden in a small barrier of dirt. There were too many formless to fight. They needed a plan. The Super Robot was fighting off some formless until the group came up with a plan.

"Kathurians, go east to the Zone of Wasted Years. Frog Team, go west and also go to the Zone. When the two teams meet, attack the formless from behind," Chiro explained. "Gibson should be finishing the underground tunnel to attack from below. I'll need the Sun Riders there and anyone who has or can create a shield. It's going to be dangerous down there and mostly messy."

"I'll help with my shield, kid," Sprx said.

"Good, now..."

While Chiro was talking, nobody noticed a light appearing behind them. Sprx looked and saw that it was actually a portal. The portal reflected two kids looking at it and talking.

"Burn? Fizz?" he whispered. They should not be there. He wondered why they did not notice the war through the portal. He knew what was going to happen next, they wanted to enter the portal. He had to do it, for the Dojo's sake. "Magno Ball Blazer!" He activated his magnets and created a magnetic ball. He threw it at the portal and it disappeared.

The group looked back. "Sprx, what did you so?" Nova asked.

"They wanted to enter."

"Who, Sprx? Who wanted to enter?" asked Chiro.

"Fizz created a time portal and she was oblivious to what was happening, like she couldn't see us. She and Burn wanted to enter the portal."

"Did you know what you did?!"

"Saved them."

"No, the electric shock overloads their machine and the people who are near it."

"Uh-oh."

"Sprx did what?!" Fizz was pissed off. She worked months on the time teleporter and the reason the machine was not working and they were shocked was because of Sprx. "Now I know how to fix it!"

"Calm down! We can tell the Dojo tomorrow," said Burn.

"Anyway, the only thing I ask is for you to show the Monkey Team that they were wrong, if they chosen you and your crew as soldiers for the war, this could never happen. You would not be robot monkeys and we could live in peace."

"Only for some videos?!"

"You have to do it sooner or later."

"What do you think, Burn? We help the Monkey Team and beat the Skeleton King?" asked Fizz.

"What do you think?"

A/N: Finally! It took me almost a month to write all of this. Sorry if I had to be harsh in the Author's Note, but it's the only way you guys ever listen.

About Layla, yeah, she's someone I had to make with a name for the arcade. She is going to be a familiar character in this story because since she is the arcade manager, guess who visits her just for the games? You're right, Chiro. But she ain't really important.
