A.N : Hi, I’m a new writer here and this is my first fic. Since it’s december, so I decided to write a christmas story with Katherine Hillard and Rocky DeSantos as the main pairing. I love both of them, Kat is totally a graceful lady while Rocky is a cool young man and I thought it’d be great to pair them together as a couple. I hope you will like my fic. A Christmas Proposal

December, 24, 2005

Katherine Hillard’s Apartment

New York City, USA

5.30 PM

It was a one of the most beautiful evening in New York City. Many kinds of colourful christmas decoration covered every corner of the streets in the “Big Apple”. All the way you could hear the carolers singing the joyous christmas songs. Katherine Hillard, former pink ranger..though it had ended 7 years ago, was standing in front of the mirror on her cozy bedroom. She was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up for Christmas Eve party at Adam and Tanya Park’s house. She had just returned to the state 5 days ago after she finished her ballet study at Royal Academy in London. Now, Katherine wanted to try a new experince as a Ballet teacher in New York City Ballet Group. She had received an offering letter to join that group a month ago, two weeks after an offering letter from Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia came. She was so happy at that time. It’d be a great opportunity for her, besides she could back to USA again.

Katherine was staring the sight of herself at the mirror. She turned her body to right and left just to make sure that everything’s allright.

“Perfect!” Kat smiled to herself. She’d taken a special pains with her appereance tonight, wearing a silky sundress in pale pink patterns that left her white shoulders bare and showed a good deal of her “ideal ballerina” leg.

Katherine’s door bell rang. She looked at her watch, it showed 5.30 PM “must be Rocky” Kat said. So she checked her hair and makeup once again before making her way to the buzzer. Kat opened the door and Rocky DeSantos, her cool and handsome boyfriend for the last 3 years was standing there.

“Hi..” Kat greeted him with a soft smile

“WOW” Rocky whistled appreciatively at the sight of his tall, gorgeous and graceful blonde girlfriend.

Kat chuckled and whirled around once “Do you like?” She asked

Rocky grabbed her and put one of his arms around her waist before he kissed her softly on the lips just to show her how much he adored her looks tonight

“You’re totally stunning” he said after their lips parted away

“Glad you liked it” Kat reached her tiny red purse and slung the long strap over on her shoulder

“So, shall we go then now?”

Rocky nodded. He held Kat’s arm and led her into his car.

Along the road to the Park’s Residence

Rocky DeSantos’s car

Around 5.45 – 6.30 PM

Katherine sighed. She stole a silent glance on her boyfriend. They didn’t talk to much along the way to Adam and Tanya’s house. Kat noticed that Rocky seemed to grow increasingly distracted minute by minute. She had tried anykind subject of conversation with him, but Rocky didn’t give her appreciatively responses. He just said “Hmm”, “Ooo” or “Ah-ha” on her statements. Katherine didn’t know what to do anymore. She wanted so bad to know about the matters that bothering him so much, because it’s really out of his normally talkactive habit. She couldn’t stand to see her beloved boyfriend acted like a dumb person, so when they entered the parking lot of the Park’s house, Katherine “saw” an opportunity to ask about Rocky’s preoccupation.

“What’s the problem Rocky?” Kat murmured when Rocky helped her out from the car

“Wha?”

“You seem to be hundreds…millions miles away. I thought you’d like to meet again with our friends”

Rocky laughed. He held Kat’s bare shoulders with his right arm “Yeah…I can’t wait to meet them”

“So, what’s the matter?” Kat looked straight into his eyes. “Is it because of Tommy?” Katherine had ended her two years relationship with Tommy Oliver when she went to London. Although she loved Tommy so much, she knew that Tommy didn’t feel the same thing with her. So she set him free on the day she left Angel Grove. She never regreted her decision, because deep in her heart she knew it was the best decision for both of them. They became a very close friend ever since. Four years after that, she met again with Rocky in London when he finished his master degree in business at Oxford University. They dated each other from that moment on. Kat had told Tommy about that on one of her letter to him and Tommy had given his blessing for them. From the first time she started a new relationship with Rocky, she had sworn that she would never ever compare him with Tommy. They’re different kind of person. Yes, She still cared about Tommy..but she didn’t love him anymore. She loved Rocky DeSantos, well the main reason was because he’s the only one person who had brought the joy, light and hope back into her life after her break-up with Tommy. Once upon a time Kat thought that she couldn’t love any other man more than Tommy…but she’s wrong.

“No, Kat” Rocky answered. He was looking back into Kat’s beautiful blue diamond eyes. At that moment he hated himself so much for making the woman he love more than anything in this world sad. He leaned forward and place a gentle kiss on Kat’s forehead.

“It’s Okay, Honey. I’m fine” Rocky assured her. Kat’s heart sang when Rocky called her “honey”. She snuggled to his side.

“Really?”

“Yeah..So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go in. I think they’re waiting for us, besides..” Rocky paused and pretended to sniff “Hmmm..smells good! I’m starving”

They both laughed. Kat hit his chest “Oh You!”

Park’s Household

New York City

6.45 PM

The Christmas party at the Park’s house was the biggest Christmas celebration Kat ever had. It was attended by all of the former rangers from Mighty Morphin to Turbo 1. Tanya Park, former yellow Zeo and Turbo 1 ranger and also Kat’s closest friend, greeted them in the front door when they arrived.

“KAT! Oh my God, I miss you so much” with a delighted squeal, Tanya threw her arms around her best friend. Kat did the same thing

“I miss you too”

Rocky watched the two former lady rangers shared hugs before he cleared his throat.

“Well well well, take a look at this” Tanya turned to face Rocky and gave him a hug just like she did to Katherine. Rocky kissed her on her cheeks.

“How are you, Tanya?”

“Oo..i’m fine, how about you?’

“Hungry!” everybody laughed

Adam Park, Tanya’s husband came along from the inside

“ROCKY!!!” he squealed when he saw his best ninjetti brother was standing in front of his house.

“Frog Man!” Rocky stepped forward to Adam and hugged him tight

“Well, what took you so long Bro?” Adam asked after he released himself from Rocky and went to Kat to give her a hug as well as he did to Rocky, plus a soft kiss on Kat’s cheeks “We’re waiting for both of you!”

“Sorry, Bro…”

“It’s ok. So, come on in” Adam led his guests into his house while Tanya closed the door behind them.

Once Rocky and Katherine entered the grand ‘family’ room of their best friend’s house they were greeted by a shriek from all of their former teamates.

“Rocky!” Aisha Campbel-Williams, former yellow ranger, ran into Rocky’s arms.

“Sha, My girl!” Rocky spun her around a little bit “Miss you lots you know”

“Same here, Rocko” Aisha smiled to her. They were dated for at least a year after Aisha returned to Angel Grove six years ago. Unfortunatelly their beautiful relationship ended when Aisha moved back to Africa to do some research about animals. Aisha then met John Williams, her husband for the last 1,5 years. Aisha was so happy when she knew about the romance between her ex-boyfriend and Katherine.

Katherine realized that Tommy was standing beside of a shelf just few feets from her. He looked so handsome with his brand new hair style and a black leather jacket. His deep and soulful brown eyes were staring at here in a amazement sight. She then walked toward to him.

“Hi stranger” she said in a soft tone

“Hi to you too” Tommy gave her his warmest smile before he took her slim body into his arms and hugged her as tight as he could.

“You’re looking so beautiful tonight, Kat”

“Thank you, Tommy” Kat blushed “How are you?”

“Oh I’m fine. Thanks” Tommy noticed that Rocky was watching at them. He seemed so jealous, but he didn’t dare to say about that.

“Seems like your boyfriend will kill me if I stay by your side any longer” Tommy whispered on Kat’s ear and caused Rocky to glare at that sight.

Kat turned to see Rocky. Yes, he seemed so jealous. Kat grinned

“better get going to greet him immediately” Tommy giggled for a while before he making his way toward to meet his old friend

“DeSantos…”

“Tommy, my man” Rocky tried his best to hide his jealousy when Tommy came to him

“Well..Rocky, if I know that Kat will be such a gorgegous lady like now, I will never ever let her go” Tommy teased him and as if it wasn’t enough, Tommy yelled to Kat who was talking with Billy and Trini Cranston in the corner of the room, “Hey Kat, if I ask you come back to me now, will you say yes?”

“Watch your mouth Thomas James Oliver! Don’t you dare touch my girl!” Rocky shouted and gave his ex-fearless leader a death glare which caused everybody to laugh

“Passion Rocko…” Kimberly Hart-Frank tried to calm him down. She patted his back then moved to Tommy’s side. She slipped one of her arm on Tommy’s. “I think it’s just a joke, right Handsome?” Tommy and Kimberly had “fixed” their relationship two years ago on Jason and Emily’s wedding day. They had decided to start again a new friendship relationship, with no more shadows from the past. So when Kimberly invited him to come to her wedding with David –the infamous other guy on her “Dear John Letter” - last year, he came without any pain or heartache. When tommy watched Kim exchanged vows with David at the altar, he knew that David was the “right man” for his “Beautiful Crane”. Tommy even had agreed to become a godfather for Kim’s baby, who would born next month.

Tommy looked down to Kimberly. He smiled “Yeah..i’m just playing around"

“See that, Rocko?” Kim said “You don’t have to be angry”

“Kimberly’s right” Jason spoke up behind Kim “it’s just a joke”

“Yeah..i know” Rocky softened his face “But, if you dare to touch Katherine, I will haunt you down and make your life miserable” he added. Tommy laughed

“Ooo…Rocky, I said it’s just a joke, I will never take Katherine away from you, knowing that you are the one who can make her happy forever. Where is your Christmas spirit man?” Tommy placed his arm around Rocky’s shoulders.

Katherine came closer to her boyfriend’s side. She kissed Rocky gently on the lips “I love you, Rocky..nothing or no one in this world could change that”

“I don’t know about that then” Rocky whispered

“Well, now you do! You are the only man I love forever”

Rocky smiled at the love declaration from Kat. He leaned forward and kissed Kat’s softly lips. Everyone looked at them…smiling

“Okay..okay..okay! enough with that!” Billy Cranston, the first blue ranger, raised his voice “Now, let’s get the party started”

“Yeah…come on you two. Break it up! It’s time to party…” Adam said

Rocky released Kat and grinned. He took a glass of champagne which offered by Tanya and gave it to Kat, then he took another one for himself “Okay, Adam..like you said it’s time to party, so where’s the food?” everybody snorted at his statement.

“What?” he looked at his friends with a innocent face “We all have said ‘hi’ to each other right? So what the hell are we waiting for?”

“Geez…Jesus! Can’t you control your self long enough to hear a christmas speech from our original leader?” Zack Taylor, the former black maztodon ranger, quipped.

“Oh…yes, sorry” Rocky turned his face to Jason “Whatever you want to say Jase, please make it fast..because I think I can’t wait any longer to taste the delicious on that table”

Kimberly sworn that she heard Justin, who was standing beside her mumbled “Poor Kat”

Jason Lee Scoot, as the first Red Ranger and also the first Leader of Power Ranger, walked to the centre of the room. He cleared his throat before making his speech

“Allright ladies and gentlements…” he paused to raise his glass “First of all I wanna say : Merry Christmas”

“Merry Christmas too Jase, so what’s the next thing on your mind?” Rocky spoke again and this time Aisha couldn’t resist herself to smack Rocky’s head from the back

“Ouch! Sha..”

“if you dare to open up your mouth once again, I will pour this champagne to your head” She warned him

“Okay..okay, I’ll shut up” Rocky pretended to recoil in terror

“Go ahead Jase” Aisha said then

“Well..where was I? Oh yeah..the next thing I wanna say is : Let’s eat!”

“Hallelujah!” Rocky raise his glass and raced to the table where all of the tasty foods laid. Kat just shook her head

“Come on Kat, let’s eat” Tanya took one of Kat’s hand and led her into the dining table.

Park’s Household

9.30 PM

Rocky was standing near by the fireplace with Adam. He had asked Adam to talk with him in private. All of their friends seemed still enjoy the party. Tommy was talking with Jason, Billy and Kim’s husband about his new job as a science teacher in Reefside highschool; Trini, Aisha and Kimberly were discussing about their plan for Kim’s baby shower; Zack and his wife, Angela were sitting together with Justin on a couch, while Katherine was helping Tanya to prepare the desert in the kitchen.

“So, man..when will you give her this?” Adam asked. His finger pointed a small purple velvet box on Rocky’s hand

“I don’t know Bro” Rocky stared at that box as well

“What are you waiting for? You love her and she loves you too…”

Rocky raised his head to face Adam

“I know about that, it’s just…”

“Just what?” Adam asked

“I’m scared”

“You? Scared? Scared of what?”

“I’m scared that she will reject it”

Adam laughed “What on earth makes you think like that?”

“Well..you know, Kat is totally a great lady. She is beautiful, smart, nice, elegant”

“Yes she is” Adam nodded in agreement

Rocky leaned on the wall “I love her so much man, she’s the only woman that I love…”

“So the problem is…?”

“The problem is…I think I’m not the right man for her” Rocky lowered his head again

Adam gasped, he couldn’t believe his ears. God, what happened to Rocky. He used to be so confident about all things, but now…

“Man, what’s gotten into you?” he tapped Rocky’s shoulder “You are a great man too bro. You are handsome, kind and having a good business career” Adam tried to assured Rocky

“Yeah, I know..but Adam sometimes I think that’s not enough”

“You guys love each other and that’s all the matter!” right after Adam said that Kat and Tanya entered the room bringing some of the dessert from the kitchen.

“You know what bro..if you don’t ask her as soon as possible, maybe you’ll lose her” Rocky looked at Adam

“What do you mean?” he asked

“Just like you said Kat is a beautiful and graceful lady and I think many other man outside there want her to be their girl so bad…” Adam drank his champagne “Besides, don’t forget about Tommy too man..he’s still single now” he added

‘Damn! He’s right’ Rocky thought. He looked at Katherine, who was offering a dessert to Tommy right now, then to the small box on his hand

“Okay..i will do it as soon as possible” Rocky promissed Adam

“When?”

“I don’t know, I think I should prepare everything first…you know, the right words to ask her” he winked

“All you have to do just bend on you knee and ask : Katherine Hillard will you marry me?” Adam gave him a suggestion “That’s not hard to do”

“Yes, but I don’t want as simple as that. I want something special”

“Like what?”

“Like a romantic candle light dinner for both of us, or maybe a flower..she likes flower you know?”

Adam stared at him “well, that’s a good idea too” he agreed

“Okay, so I’m going to…” Rocky couldn’t finish his words, because Kat showed herself all of sudden

“Here you are, I’m looking for you” She said

Both of Rocky and Adam gasped “Kat, Honey…what are you doing here?” Rocky tried to hide the velvet box from Kat’s sight, but he’s too late cause Kat had noticed it first

“What’s that?” she asked

“Uhm..what?” Rocky giving her a I-don’t-know-what-you’re-talking-about look

“The one on your right hand”

“Ooo..it’s nothing” Rocky tried to put the box back into his pocket, but Kat had grasped his arm

“Let me look” she took the box from Rocky arm “What is this?”

“I said it’s nothing..now give me that back”

“No! not until I know what is this” She’s making her way to open the velvet box when Rocky stopped her

“STOP IT KATHERINE!” he yelled. All of his friends looked at him. Kat blinked in surprise

“Why?”

“Before you open it you have to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ first” Rocky said

“For what?” Kat asked. She seemed so confused

“Just say ‘yes’ or ‘no’!” Rocky demanded

“But Rocky I even don’t know why I have to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’”

“Oh come on Kat… a velvet box, a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer, you must know about tha…”

“Yes” Kat interrupted Rocky’s words

“What?” Rocky blinked in disbelieving on what he heard

“I said ‘yes’, Rocky..now can I open it?”

“Are you serious?” he asked

“What? Did you expect me to say ‘no’?” Kat asking him back

“Errr no, I mean yes..no no..i mean…” Rocky looked at Adam, who’s smiling to him

“But Kat, you even didn’t look at the inside”

“Oh Rocky, I didn’t have to look what’s lying inside there to convince myself to spend the rest of my life with you” Kat said softly

“So…it means yes?” Rocky still didn’t belive his good luck

“How many times do I have to tell you, huh?…now, can I open this?”

“Sure..oh NO!, wait Kat!” Rocky stopped her once again

“What else now?” Kat asked. Rocky stepped forward to his girlfriend. He took the velvet box from Kat’s arm

“I want to do something first Kat” Rocky down on a bended knee. He took one of Kat’s hand and kissed her fingertips

“Katherine my love” he began. Everybody stood in silent, waiting for him to finish his proposal words “Ever since you came into my life I’ve felt nothing but complete. You have made my life so happy and filled with love and joy. You are the sun that shines through my heart, you are the air that I breath everyday and I think I couldn’t live any other day without you by my side. So here, in front of our friends, I down on a bended knee asking you to make me the most happiest man in the world and give me the honor to be your husband” Rocky opened the velvet box. Kat’s tears dropped as soon as she saw the beautiful diamond ring in there

“Katherine Jane Hillard, will you marry me?”

Katherine covered her mouth. She started to tremble. Teardrops spilled over and slid down on her cheeks. When she gave Rocky her answer (again), it was in a barely audible whisper

“Yes Rocky, I’d love to be your wife”

“YES!” Rocky shouted. Then he slipped the ring over Kat’s finger. It was perfect fit. Rocky got up slowly. He looked at Kat and cupped her beautiful face and kissed her lips gently

“I love you Kat”

“I love you too, Rocky”

Everybody laughed and clapped their hands. They stepped forward to Rocky and Kat

“Congratulation you two!” they cheered

“Oh my Gosh, let me see the ring!” Tanya said. Kat showed her the beautiful 2 carat engagement ring

“Gosh, it’s so lovely” Aisha noted

“Yep, beautiful ring for the beautiful lady” Kim said gleefully

Adam hugged his best friend

“See that Rocko? It’s not a hard thing to do”

“Yeah…I guess so” Rocky answered

Tommy moved closer to Rocky, he smiled “Rocky, my man…congratulation!”

“Thanks, oh fearless leader” they were hugging each other

“Take good care Kat for me, ok?” Tommy begged

“Don’t worry, I will” he promised him

Katherine came along to his side “So Rocky, I wanna ask you something”

“What’s that?”

“Is this the main reason you’re acting like a jerk for the whole evening?”

“Well…I was trying to find the right words to say to you, Kat”

Kat made a face

“Hey, it’s not as simple as you think. I mean…I’ve never propose anybody to become my wife before, and..and, I didn’t know about your reaction then…”

“Oh Rocky, you’re so silly”

“Yeah.. I know. Please forgive me?”

Kat stroked his face gently “That’s why I love you” She said and kissed him deeply

“So ladies and gentlement…I proudly present the next Mrs. Rocky DeSantos” Rocky announced it proudly to their ‘audience’ after he broke the kiss.

Adam raised his glass “To Rocky and Kat”

“Rocky and Kat” the others followed his action

“For the love that they have for each other” he added

“May they live happily everafter” Tommy spoke up, he’s staring straight into Kat’s eyes

“Amen” Zack said in solemn

Trini looked at the window “Hey, look guys…snow is falling”

They hurried to the windows to see that

“Yes, it is”

“well…there’s no Christmas without it right?” Justin declared

Rocky held his fiancé arms and squeezed it

“Merry Christmas…Kitty Kat”

“Merry Christmas too, Red Ape”

They kissed all over again
