Okay so this is my new fic Reunited! So it's a slight AU. Being that Mer and Der were already married when Addie showed up. And had twins! When Der signed the papers Addie didn't. So technically he and Addie were still married. Which made Mer and Der's married non-existent. And Addie showing up made Mer not too have and filed for a divorce for the non-existent marriage. While filing for the pointless divorce she filed for custody of the twins, but for some reason the judge gave one twin to one parent. So now ten years into the future is where the story begins…..

Meredith put the last of her clothes in the suitcase. She picked it up and walked down the steps of her townhouse. Her daughter,Mia, was waiting for her in the living room, her suitcase was in the foyer with her favorite bear, William, was sitting on the suitcase.
"Mi, you ready?" Meredith asked as she grabbed her keys from the side table in the hallway.
"Yep." Mia said getting up from the couch and turned off the TV. Mia ten years old with shoulder length wavy brown hair, with the brightest blue eyes, and she had Meredith's build.
Mia was on summer vacation and was going to a conference with Meredith in New York. Meredith still looked the same but a little older. They grabbed their things and went out the door, they walked down the steps and got into Meredith's car. They drove to the airport and boarded their flight.
"Mom, have you ever been to New York?" Mia asked as she took a sip of her drink she had gotten earlier.
"Once, but that was before you were born." Meredith said with a bit of sadness and bitterness.
"Where did you go?" Mia asked.
"I went to a wedding." Meredith told her.
"Who's?" Mia asked as she reached for a book in her carry on bag.
"Uhh..why don't you tell me what you're reading." Meredith said changing the subject. Mia got the hint.
"Gray's Anatomy." Mia told her mom blankly. Meredith laughed and shook her head.
"Did your Aunt Cristina give it to you?" Meredith asked through her laughter.
"Yeah, she gave it to me for the plane ride." Mia said opening the book.

"Ri, hurry up I can't be late for the conference." Derek called up the steps of his Manhattan home.
"Okay, okay. I'm coming." Riley said coming down the steps. "Dad you really need to relax we're not going very far." Riley told him. Derek shook his head and sighed.
"Do you have everything?" Derek asked her.
"Yep. Do you have everything?" Riley asked her dad sarcastically with an eye brow raised, much like her mother did. Derek noticed this and laughed bitterly.
"Yes, are you ready?" he asked. Riley nodded."Okay, let's go." Derek said opening the door. Riley walked out and opened the car door to Derek's BMW. Derek got into the driver's seat and started the car. They drove down to the Madison Square Garden Hotel and Spa. Derek drove up to the front of the hotel, got out and he was met my a valet. Derek handed the keys to him. Riley got her suitcase out of trunk of the ca and they walked into the foyer of the hotel and so Derek could check them in then the two of them got into an elevator.

Meredith and Mia walked into the hotel and checked in. The pair took the elevator up to the floor their room was. Mia took the room key from Meredith and opened the door then, holding her bear William, she explore the room. After the exploration she unpacked her suit case and put William on her bed.
"Okay Mi, I have to go to the conference." Meredith told her. "Take this cellphone and call if you need anything okay?" Meredith told her. "I'm trusting you to be good." Meredith added.
"I know mom, don't worry. I'll be fine. I'm go going to go the pool anyways." Mia reassured her mom.
"Okay, oh and if you get hungry you can get room service." Meredith added.
"Okay." Mia said. Meredith sighed and hugged and kissed Mia.
"I should be done by 2:35pm, I'll call you." Meredith said as she went out the door. Mia waved goodbye to her mom, she looked at the clock that was on the end table. It read 11:22am. Mia sighed knowing she was going to be alone for awhile.

"Okay now Ri, I'm going to gone for a least four hours or so." Derek said as he tied his tie. "You can get room service if you want. You have the cellphone I gave you, oh and Addison will be calling you in two hours to check up on you." Derek said picking up his sidekick.
"Awww! Dad,seriously? I'm in the fifth grade!" Riley complained.
"That's exactly why she's calling. Oh and speaking of school, I don't want hotel security calling me." Derek added.
"I was wrongly accused, it was Kelly. She she-" Derek stopped her mid sentence.
"Yeah I know. She set you up to be caught by the school security guard seeing you stealing the answers. Just don't get into too much trouble. okay?" Derek asked her.
"Fine." Riley said with a sigh. Derek kissed her on her head and walked out of the door. Riley unzipped her suitcase and took out her bathing suit, t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops. Riley got changed and took her room key then took an elevator up to pool. Mia sat in the room finishing the hamburger and fries she ordered from room service. After watching tv for half an hour she went into the bathroom and got changed for the pool.
Mia closed the door behind her and walked towards the elevator. Mia got on a rather crowded elevator. She stayed on until near the very end. By the time Mia was arriving to the floor where the pool was the elevator was completely empty. The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Mia jaw dropped. The girl in front of her looked exactly like her, like her reflection, but her reflection was wearing something different.

"Oh...my..god." Was all Mia got out.

"Y-you look like me." Riley stuttered.

"You look like me, I look like you, like...like twins." Mia reasoned to her best of her abillity.

"Twins, I new I wasn't crazy." Riley said excitedly. This only made Mia give her a skeptical look. "No, not like that. I mean that I've felt like something was missing." Riley explained.

"So if we are twins,then we have the same birthday. What's you birthday?" Mia asked.

"May 24th." Riley told her.

"We have to be twins, we have the same hair,eyes, and possible the same parents." Mia said still reasoning as the eleavtor dinged signaling that the doors were closing. Riley quickly got on.

"Do you have a dad?" Riley asked as she leaned against the wall.

"No. Well I did obiviously, but I he left when I was a baby." Mia told Riley "Do you have a mom?" Mia asked.

"No, well there's my dad's friend Addison, but she's not my mom." Riley told her.

"I have a picture of my dad though." Mia said walking out of the elevator.

"I have have one of my mom, well I think it's my mom. My dad never said if she was or not." Riley said following Mia.

"I'm hopping that your picture is much better than mine. I just have a picture that's torn down the middle." Mia said pulling out the Gray's Anatomy book, she was using the picture as a bookmark.

"Mine's the same way!" Riley exclaimed, she ran out the door and down the hall. Mia followed after her.

"Where are you going?" Mia called down the hallway.

"To my room. I'm geting the picture!" Riley called as she opened the door. Another guest on that floor came out and gave an evil glare towards Mia. Who smiled sweetly and walked back into her room.

Mia was sitting on her bed, with William, hold her picture. Riley came back into the room with her picture. "Here let's switch." Riley said taking the picture from Mia and giving hers, but neither looked at them. "On three. One. Two. Three!" Both looked at the picture in their hands.

"It's my mom." Mia said holding the picture.

"And it's my dad." Riley said with a smile.

"What's he like?" Mia asked giving the picture back to Riley.

"He's really great, he's funny, and he's a neurosurgeon. That's why we're here." Riley said. "What about mom?" she asked.

"She's a neurosurgeon too. She lives with Aunt Izzie, and Aunt Cristina comes over alot. So does Uncle George and Alex. And I see Aunt Callie too." Mia said.

"She's got a lot of siblings." Riley said.

"Oh no, they're mom's friends." Mia explained.

"I really wish I could meet her." Riley said sadly.

"I know I want to meet dad too." Mia agreed. "Wait maybe we can!" Mia said as an idea hit her.

"How could we possibly do this?" Riley asked doubting her newly found sister.

"Mom has a vaction coming up in one month, we were trying to figure out where we want to go. We could come back here." Mia sugguested.

"Okay, but really do you think we can pull this off?" Riley asked unsure.

"Yes, we have three days to learn everything about on another. OKay I know how that sounds, but we can do it!" Mia said hopefully.

"Okay. Do you know why they got a divorce cause I don't." Riley asked.

"No, maybe you could find out." Mia said.

"Okay I'll try." Riley said as her cellphone rang. "Oh great it's Addison. Hold on." Riley said.

"Hello?"

"Riley it's Addison."

"Hi."

"I'm just calling to make sure you're okay."

"Oh I'm fine, I'm in the room eating."

"Okay well be good tell your dad I say 'hi'"

"Okay I will." Riley said hanging up. "no I won't."

"So you get to start, cause explaining my life takes a while." Mia said. Riley laughed.
