Naruto Chapter 17

Hinata sat down next to Naruto.

“N-Naruto-kun?” she asked.

“Yeah?” he answered.

“Have you ever had a secret you wanted to tell someone, but were too afraid to tell?”

Naruto grabbed his stomach, where the seal for the Kyuubi was. He nodded.

“That’s what I have. I have a secret. My father told me today,”Hinata added, softly.

Naruto scrunched up his forehead. “This secret can’t be that bad. You can tell me,” he added.

Hinata hesitated. Naruto really had grown up. She never remembered him this serious.

“When did you change?”she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

“What do you mean?”Naruto asked, puzzled. He scratched his head and laughed. “I haven’t changed. Just ask Sakura-chan,” he whispered.

Hinata’s expression fell. He was obviously hurting from something Sakura did. He was still focused on Sakura.

“But you have,” Hinata said, nodding her head vigorously.

Naruto shrugged. “I’ll tell you a secret,” he said after a few moments of silence.

Hinata looked up from the ground, interested.

“I’ve something inside of me...” he started.

Neji stood next to his fiancee and teammate. Both stood in front of the Clan leader of the Hyuuga clan, Hyuuga Hiashi.

‘Oh, Brother...I hope you’ll forgive me for all the hatred I’ve caused your son to hold towards this clan. I hope I can repent by doing what I’m about to do’ thought Hiashi.

Neji held TenTen’s hand and traced circles on it with his thumb. Both were very nervous.

Hiashi sighed. He shook his head.

“Normally, a Hyuuga marries a Hyuuga or someone of equal status from another village. To keep the power in the clan,” he added at TenTen’s look.

“You, Miss TenTen, are certainly not a Hyuuga or of equal status to a Hyuuga. Marriage is used to keep the clan thriving. Hizashi knew this. Your mother knew this,” Hiashi said to Neji. Neji didn’t even blink at the mention of his father and mother.

The Hyuuga clan has customs and traditions that most would frown upon. Especially those who aren’t of Hyuuga blood. I can see what you think so far of our customs and traditions, Miss TenTen, by the way your face looks. By your pulse,” He added. Neji sighed.

“Uncle, what is the point of this conversation?” he asked.

“I’ve arranged for Hinata and Hanabi to be married to men in this village. Hinata to Uzumaki Naruto. Hanabi to Sarutobi Konohamaru. Now, I’d like to welcome TenTen into the Hyuuga clan. Hopefully, you will help other outsiders see the way of our customs and traditions,” Hiashi added, sitting down on a near by bench. He watched at Neji smiled at TenTen. He hoped to see more of those soon.

“Thank you, Uncle,” Neji said. Hiashi nodded.

‘There. Hizashi, are you happy? He is finally happy’ thought Hiashi.

“Hiashi-sama, what about our children? Would they be sealed?” TenTen asked.

Neji froze and frowned. He turned to stare at his uncle for an answer.

Hiashi sighed. “That is up to the Elders. I’ve stepped down from that position, so I have no say,” he said. “I just want to be an old man with grandchildren to keep me happy,” he added as he walked towards the main house, leaving the couple alone.

Hinata listened as Naruto told her about the Kyuubi. She so dearly wanted to interrupt him when he said no one loved him, but she had some restraint left.

When he finished, she was in tears. Naruto expected her to run away. What he got was unexpected. Hinata threw herself at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She cried into the nook of his shoulder. Naruto carefully wrapped his arms around her.

Hinata sobbed and cried incoherently, mostly about how she was sorry.

Naruto didn’t understand it. He’d just told her that he had a demon inside of him. A demon that may have killed her family members. And she hugged him?

Hinata leaned back.

“I have s-something to tell you, too,” she mumbled, scooting farther away. Naruto waited.

“I-I’ve felt something for someone since the playground times. H-How would I tell him?”

Naruto sighed. “Well, I’d think you would just tell him,” Naruto said, trying to ignore the pang he felt.

“O-okay. Naruto-kun, I-I-I-I love you!” Hinata closed her eyes, but activated her byakugan. Naruto was grinning. She felt herself being hugged and kissed. She opened her eyes. Naruto picked her up and spun her around. “Finally!” he said.

He set her down, made fifteen kage bunshins and sent them around Konoha yelling, “I LOVE HYUUGA HINATA!!”

Hinata blushed.

“Marry me?” he asked, getting down on one knee.

Hinata blushed again. “We’re already engaged,” she whispered.

“Huh?”

“My father arranged for us to be married. As he did with Konohamaru and Hanabi-neechan and TenTen-san and Neji-niisan,” Hinata smiled.

Naruto lifted her up and twirled her around.

“WOOOO-HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!” he yelled.
