Disclaimer: I do not own The Truth About Forever...
I told Delia that I would come see if she needed help with the party when I came back. I did not really want to see Macy but it was something I had to do. As I walked into the kitchen I did not know what to do. I guess I should find Delia but what if I see Macy. She said that she felt nothing for me. I did not know how that was possible every time we were together there was nothing I wanted to do but be there with her and when I was not with her I was thinking about her. She said I was extraordinary and every once in a wile I would see that look in her eyes that look that said she wanted to be with me but then today she said she wanted everything to go back to the way it was before where we both had someone but not each other.
Delia cane into the kitchen with a tray of empty glasses she put them down and kissed my cheek. “How was your trip down the cost?”
“It was fine. I was mostly in the car just with my thoughts.” Any other time I would love to just be able to be in the car thinking but today my thoughts just kept bringing me back to Macy and replaying everything we had done with each other thinking maybe I had the wrong signals that she did not fell anything for me. “So should I stay?”
“No it looks like we have everything under control you should get some rest you look tired.”
“You sure?” she just nodded and squeezed my arm turning to the oven. I turned to leave and say Macy. And who I who I guessed would be Jason. I could not understand why she wanted to stay with him everything she has told me about him he was not good enough for her. I could not look at them together anymore I had to get out of there.
As I was unlocking my truck I saw Macy running after me she stopped right in front of me trying to catch her breath. “Macy?... what-“
“I'm sorry.” she put up her hand interrupting me. “But there has been a change.
I had no idea what she was talking about, “a change?”
She nodded “In the rules.”
The rules what is she talking about… oh I see. “Ah. The rules.”
“Yes”
I was not notified.” I decided to play along.
“Well it was pretty recent.”
“As in...”
“As in effective right now.”
I pulled my hand threw my hair I did not know why she was doing this she said it was over what difference did it make now? She looked distracted for a moment concentrating on something I was wearing “Macy you don’t have to …”
“The change.” She said interrupting me again. “Ask me about the change.”
“Okay. What is the change?” she wanted me to know something I just wish she would spit it out.
“It has been decided.” She said taking another breath she seemed nervous. “That there is another step to winning the game. And that is that in order for me to really win, I have to answer the question you passed on, that night in the truck. Only then is it final.
“The question I passed on.” I said slowing what is she doing?
She nodded “that is the rule.”
We sat there for a few moments just starring at each other she wanted me to ask her the question I could not answer truthfully that night but now wish more then anything I had. I had no idea what her answer was going to be but I knew that right now I wanted to know more then anything.
“Okay. What would you do, if you could do anything?”
She took a few steps toward me and said “this.” And kissed me. Kissing her was just like I thought it would we were in sink with everything we have done and this was no different. She pulled her arms around my neck and continued to kiss me as I rapped my arms around her waist pulling her closer to me and the only think I could think of was how this is all I have wanted for so long.\
