Realization
Sakura watched, with careful fascination, as he walked.
He really wasn't as remarkable as she remembered. He walked just like everyone else, though perhaps with a bit more grace. But, hell, she cold walk like that if she tried, with her chin up and her hands in her pockets, with that long stride of his.
He really wasn't as special as she used to think he was. She wrinkled her nose a little in thought, wondering when, exactly, he had stopped being her everything and turned into another object of interest.
“What're you looking at?”
She hadn't even realized that he'd stopped.
“You.”
He turned in her direction, dark eyes questioning, one perfect, raven-colored brow arching in curiosity.
“You really aren't all that amazing.”
There was a flicker of mild surprise across his features before he turned, stalking away from her as he had done so many times before.
“It took you nine years to figure that out?”
She smiled slightly, wrapping her arms around her knees.
“Yeah.”
“Congratulations.”
His voice was bored as he waved vaguely, not bothering to turn around.
“...I still think you're pretty.”
It was rather difficult not to laugh at the look on his face.
