Chapter 1 Starting a New

Judai stood there speechless. He was more confused than he’d ever been and his heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest. Butterflies filled his stomach making him want to run away before he fainted. This wasn’t like dueling at all. “J-Johan…” He whispered in a shaken voice that didn’t sound like himself. “Why did you do that?” His eyes were staring straight into his friend’s bright green emerald ones. Yeah sure, the European boy was handsome and he knew that they shared a strong bond, but Judai didn’t quite think he had feelings for him that went this deep.

A soft and gentle reply came, one that made the already shaken Judai get the chills (in a good way of course). “Judai… why ask something like that? You know why.” Johan slowly moved back away from the other teen and a smile covered his face. There was such a kind and welcoming expression staring straight at the red dorm student making him want to lunge right back at the other. It was as if the blue haired teen was toying with him for he said, “Just think about that kiss. Maybe another one will follow after it some other time. Later, Judai.” Waving and now smirking, Johan walked off, disappearing out the dorm room door leaving a stunned and faintly blushing Judai behind.

“I didn’t know you had such a deep relationship with Johan.”

He knew that voice any day. “Manjyome?!”

“I was leaving my room and I heard a fuss going on in here,” The black haired teen said, walking in. “You must not have heard me. I opened the door a crack and peeked inside…”

“It’s not what you think it is! Really! It was just…”

“Just what, Judai?”

“Hnn…” He frowned looking at the ground.

“Not able to answer, huh? Then I guess you were never worth my time to begin with. See ya.”

“Wait, Manjyome!”

“I don’t want to hear anymore excuses.”

“What about us?”

The other teen scowled and gave Judai a cruel look. “Us? Us?! Hah. I’ve always been loyal to you. No matter how much I’ve been tempted to ask Asuka out again, I’ve always resisted for your sake. Because of how I felt about you, I’d ignore everyone else who liked me as well.” Manjyome turned his back to the other teen and placed a hand on the door frame. “There is no us, anymore.” With those words, he was out the door and out of view, leaving a now shocked, confused and miserable Judai all alone...

“Aniki, what’s wrong?” Sho looked up at Judai with a worried expression covering his face. He knew his best friend all too well by now. Something was up. “You look like you’ve just lost twenty duels. Wait a minute…” The small duelist stared at his friend suspiciously. “I think I see dried tears! Were you crying by any chance?! That’s not like you at all, big bro. I never see you cry. Something really big is bothering you.”

Judai blinked a few times fast and laughed. “Ha, ha, no way! I wasn’t crying! It’s nothing, Sho!” He shook his head and turned away. “Nothing at all...” He paused and tried to think up a better excuse so his friend wouldn’t worry much. “I’m just getting depressed again about our final year here coming to a close soon, that’s all. Remember how that got me down? Well, it’s doing it again. Don’t worry about me, ok?” He moved his face back into view, flashed his usual sunny smile and patted Sho on the shoulders. It wasn’t soon after though, that as he trailed his hand along the railing post heading towards the staircase, it turned bleak once more.

“What’s bothering, aniki-saurus?” Kenzan asked coming out of their room. “Did you find out, Marufuji-sempai?”

“He won’t tell me the truth,” Sho answered flashing the dino-loving teen a sad look. “I just wish he’d be more honest with us. He’s always telling fibs just so we don’t worry.”

“Hmm, maybe this time it’s something he can’t talk with us about-don.”

“What do you mean?”

“You know…” He bent down and whispered into Sho’s ear. “Maybe love?”

Sho shot him a weird look. “I wouldn’t expect you to suggest that, Kenzan-kun.”

“Heh, maybe I’m just being stupid.”

“You sounded serious to me.”

Kenzan lightly scratched the back of his neck and smirked a bit. “Well to be honest, I just think big bro’s not as good with that kind of thing as he is with dueling-saurus.” He began to follow after Judai. “Anyway, we need to go catch up with him and the others. Come on!”

Sho nodded. “Right, coming!” He went after his friend to catch up, but paused noticing Manjyome coming up the stairs. “Manjyome!” The other teen simply stopped in place and stared at him silently. “Did aniki happen to mention what was bugging him to you? I’m starting to think you’re much closer to him than I am lately…” Manjyome mumbled something to himself then growled walking past Sho not even saying a single word. “Gee, what was that all about?” He shrugged and hurried down the steps so he wouldn’t keep Kenzan waiting.

Judai sat quietly by a tree near the little pathway that lead into Duel Academy. He’d been thinking to himself for quite a while now. Sho and Kenzan were both sitting next to him, yet neither of them attempted to break the silence. They didn’t really want to end up getting yelled at by their friend for saying something stupid. They were afraid they’d end up doing it by mistake, so they just kept quiet.

“Hey there, why so down you guys?” All three looked up to see Asuka was speaking. She was with Jim, Johan and Misawa. “Is there something wrong?”

“Hey, Dino-boy!” Jim shouted cheerfully flashing Kenzan a kind smile. The other teen smiled back and said hi as well.

“It’s nothing, Asuka! We’re fine!” Judai shouted before his two friends could say anything else. By the tone of his voice, you’d really think nothing was wrong. “So what’s up? Anything good going on?”

“Not to my knowledge,” Asuka said turning to look at DA.

“Aww, oh well. I say we hang out then! Maybe duel a bit, chat and be lazy!”

“That sounds good!”

“Do let’s.” Judai blinked and practically fainted because Johan was standing right directly in front of him, bent down a bit. “Did I scare you, Judai?” He smiled and reached a hand out to help his friend to his feet.

“Kind of.” He chuckled, grabbing the European’s hand and pulling himself up. “So what do you guys want to do?”

“You…” Johan whispered so quietly into Judai’s ear that no one else could hear.

Judai blushed and started to laugh. “J-Johan… You’re a crazy guy! Ha, ha, ha…”

“You ok, Judai?” Asuka asked curiously, wondering what exactly Johan whispered and a bit concerned by how nervous Judai had just sounded.

“Fine… Eheh. He took me off guard with what he said, is all.”

“Oh, alright.” Having her suspicions, the blonde girl just smiled and acted as if she had no idea to what had been whispered. The small blush on Judai’s face gave it away, but there was really no sense in pointing that out.

“Where’s Manjyome?” Misawa asked noticing he wasn’t around. Judai’s face turned grim and bleak as he looked down at the ground. “Whoa, hey Judai did something happen?” He said noticing the change in his friend’s facial expression. “He’s been hanging around with you a lot more than usual as of lately and he’s not here.”

“N-no… nothing.” Everyone knew that was a lie. The brown eyed teenager bit his lip and was about to, as it seemed, punch the crap out of something until he felt a warm hand on his shoulder.

“Hey, guys.” Johan smiled and gazed back at the red dorms. “Judai and I have some things we need to discuss. It’s important. Could we hang out later?”

“Alright,” Sho said slowly as he rose to his feet. He didn’t really want to interfere with whatever was going between the three. “Kenzan-kun, Asuka, Jim, Misawa and I will hang out for now. Make sure you guys come find us later, ok?” He smiled softly as they made their way off towards the school.

“Sure thing!” Johan shouted back as they walked away. “Ok Judai, let’s get a few things straight here… Did Manjyome -- dump you?”

“Yeah… He sure did.” The brown eyed boy sighed and threw himself into his arms. “Johan, I’m such a jerk. He thought I was cheating on him with you.”

“But it was me… I kind of forced you…”

“Still… I feel like a real jerk right now. I could have stopped you and that’s probably why he’s so angry.” Suddenly his expression changed to happy one. “Know what?” He said, smiling. “Forget it. It doesn’t matter to me anymore.”

“Oh? That quickly? Well, gee, I guess I should have expected that from you.”

“Heh, heh… hey, can you answer one question for me?” He gazed into the European’s bright green eyes. “Will you… take Manjyome’s place? I know he doesn’t want me back and I have no one else to turn to that would accept me like you do. We are so much alike, don’t you think? I feel like I’m developing such a strong bond with you that can’t be broken. You know, like the bond you have with your Gem Beasts. And I’m certain you feel the same way about me judging from what you whispered into my ear before.”

“J-Judai…” Johan felt himself blushing, remembering what he’d quietly said into the Japanese boy’s ear. “Me? You actually want me to take his place?” He smiled. “I’d love that more than anything right now.” Taking one of his hands, he brushed up some bangs and kissed the other’s forehead. “Let’s finish what we started earlier.”

A wink and smirk made Judai nod. “Ok, sure…” He said timidly, much unlike his usual self. He then took the other’s hand as they headed back to the Osiris dorms. Up the stairs they went, both hearts pounding with joy and excitement -- oh and a tad bit of nervousness as well. This would their first time actually ‘being’ together. CLICK! The door knob was twisted and the door opened. “You first…”

“Alright…” Johan entered and tenderly pulled his friend along just by the tips of their fingers lightly wrapped together. “I’ll be as gentle as I can…”

Judai felt a mild shove that lead him to crawl onto the bottom bunk, his bunk. “Oh, Johan I don’t worry about you being rough… you’re always so kind and gentle as it is…” Breathing in such a tight space might be a problem, but what did it matter? They wanted to be really close anyway, right? Johan crawled on top of the Asian boy and they began to pull off each other’s clothes. In less than a few minutes, both boys were completely nude, their bodies tight against one another and their newly formed erections rubbing together as well.

“Judai…” The champion of North Academy was a bit more than what he seemed to be, for he was quite experienced in bed. He moved the brown haired teen’s legs so that he was laying in between him. “If you don’t like anything I do, feel free to tell me to stop, I’ll listen…” The tips of their noses touched as it became a bit harder to breathe. In the next moment the European’s face disappeared down the other boy’s neck.

“Ah! Johan!” Lustful sighs and moans escaped the boy’s lips as he felt a wet tongue trail down his neck and onto his heart pounding chest. It made his body tremble with delight especially when it reached his privates. “Uhn… are you going to…?”

“Do you want me to, Judai? I’ll make it feel good…” The European teen slid his hands up the other’s naked body gradually and gently, pulling their bodies tightly together. The heat was driving the Japanese boy insane. “Remember, it’s totally up to you whether I do something or not…”

“You’re… pretty experienced with this so I don’t mind…”

“Well, it’s not like this is my first time,” He chuckled. “Anyway, that’s good. So then…” He moved his lips so that they just slightly hovered over his friend’s hard penis, his breath bouncing off it. “Does that make me good enough for you, dear Judai?”

Johan was using pet talk already! Why not aim some back at him? “Better than good, precious Johan…” He closed his eyes as warm and soft lips wrapped around that very sensitive area. Burning! His face was burning! To make things worse, his heart was about ready to pound right out of his chest. It was so damn good. Feeling the other boy touching him in such ways brought him almost as much joy as dueling did. Just when he thought it’d get better… it didn’t.

“Apparently you must be enjoying what you stole from me…” Both young men froze in place when hearing that voice. It was in this room. “How’s that dick taste, Andersen?” They knew right then and there who was standing in the place, completely pissed.

“M-Manjyome?! What in the world are you doing in here?!” Judai shrieked as Johan moved his lips off and wiped his mouth.

“Excuse me for eavesdropping, but I do believe this is where we used to make love, is it not?”

“Are you jealous or something?” Judai snapped, glaring at him angrily. He thought it was over between them. So why exactly was Manjyome here?

“And so what if I am?” The black haired teen moved closer toward the bed and held out a hand. “I mean, look, about what I said before… I didn’t mean it and I’ve come to take you back. So just come with me. Asuka already denied me before and I know she wouldn’t accept me just yet--”

“And you wonder why! Manjyome, love is not that simple… You can’t dump someone and expect them to come back to you all the time. I mean, heck, I haven’t gotten the complete hang of this yet, but…” He shook his head, not finishing what he was about to say. “Look, Johan is my lover now and that’s that!”

“I know love isn’t simple, but tell me what the hell is wrong with you, idiot?! Have you forgotten everything we did? In here… you can’t just dump me like this!”

“You’re the one who dumped me!! You just don’t get it! We’re through, understand?”

“Judai--!!”

The other boy snapped. “GET OUT!!” He screamed throwing a pillow at Manjyome, who had to quickly snatch it before it hit him in the face. Judai then sat up and crawled behind Johan’s back, peeking out over his shoulder. “I mean it… leave us be.”

“You just wait and see,” Manjyome said in a dull voice as he chucked the pillow onto the floor. “You’re going to come running back to me and want to throw yourself in my arms like always. I know you by now. Maybe you should just take a while to think. Think really hard for once in your life. Think about everything you’ve been through, think about our school, think about us. Then you’ll realize you’re making a big mistake here.” With that he headed for the exit.

“Hey, Manjyome.” The teen froze at the doorway and turned his head slightly, gazing over at Judai. “There is no us, anymore. Isn’t that what you told me before?”
