Me: Are you ready for another set of 100 drabbles of craziness? This sets featured pairing is Taang.

Zuko: No Zutara?

Me: There will be a Zutara pairing here and there, but it’s Taang. Why? Because I can and I say so! Murhaahahaahaahaa! If you haven’t read any of the 100 drabbles from Taste the Elements, do so now. Read them in whatever order you want. They are true drabbles!

Toph: Why Taste the Elements II?

Me: Because, I couldn’t think up of a better title.

Rain

The wind blew through Toph’s hair. She liked it, and it made her laugh, it reminded her of Aang. In fact, that’s what she called the wind, Aang. He was away now, doing something important in the Earth Kingdom. She didn’t want to go to Gaoling, where the trouble was happening, so she was staying with Momo in the Southern Air Temple.

“I miss you too,” she told the wind, knowing it would carry to Aang’s ears. “I love you, Aang,” she said to the breeze that blew through the halls. She ran around all day, laughing and playing in the wind atop the mountain. Blindly trusting herself to something that not even Aang could see. Finally, she grew tired and fell asleep in the courtyard of the temple.

Thunder clapped and lightning spoke, causing Toph to jump up in fright. She bent herself a tent and looked out waiting for Aang. The rain scared her. She didn’t like thunderstorms, because she couldn’t “see” them. The vibrations were among the air, not the ground. She suddenly felt searing heat only a few feet in front of her, causing her to scream. She took the risk and ran outside and back into the temple. The vibrations guiding her, she found the large bedchamber she and Aang shared; like a scared child she ran into the bed and covered up her head, hugging her knees and shook.

“Aang…” she whispered and waited for what seemed to be an century or more.

“Toph! Toph! I’m home!” came the voice of her beloved airbender.

“Aang!” she shouted, not wanting to leave the safety of the bed. “Aang, I’m in bed!” she shouted. She soon her head soft footsteps, and she felt his arms around her.

“Why are you in bed already?” he asked.

“The storm,” she said, as if he was her father and she was his child. Aang laughed. She loved his laugh.

“The storm is over, there is a rainbow,” Aang said.

“Describe it to me,” Toph said.

“Well… it beautiful,” Aang said. Toph smiled.

“Like the rain?” Toph asked.

“No, like you,” Aang said and kissed her cheek.
