Yep, LotR haikus. These aren't quite in the conventional style—I didn't use the 5/7/5 syllables rule, but rather the rule that permits no more than 5/7/5 syllables. There are a lot of different ways to write haikus, but I like this one the best for evoking visuals, etc., without throwing in superfluous or forced words.

a glint of sunlight
his heart longs to touch this fire
this gift of power

sharp eyes like glass
pierce him without seeing
repent too late

crownless
he delivers her the stars
a kingly gift

shadows lift
a token of renewal
blooms white among stones

white arms
seek hope in black skies
the king's banner

winter descends
the white ships have gone
memory is grief

a deep sound
dawn bursts bright on dark hills
the Hornburg blasts

the king remembers
strong hands grasp the haft
old eyes spark fire

mended
she puts away the sword
and takes his hand
