Funnily enough, these 1-liners are much harder than actual drabbles. I got struck with inspiration earlier today, but this took a bit longer than I thought it would. I'll probably continue them later, since I only did 10 here. Enjoy!

Compendium of a Ship

01. Jealousy
It's strange, she thinks, for one be jealous of a ship; but watching Jack run his fingers lovingly over the weathered wood and tattered sails, she can't help but to envy the Pearl.

-

02. Flattery
Jack is a man of many loves—the Pearl, the sea, and more women than she cares to know—while Will is a man of one; sometimes she wonders if the flattery alone is what keeps her with the blacksmith and away from the open water.

-

03. Riches
Jack Sparrow knows that Will Turner is a rich man, for Jack Sparrow knows that not all treasure is silver and gold; fortunately, Jack Sparrow is a pirate, and stealing treasure is what pirates do best.

-

04. Alcohol
Sometimes, before Will comes home from the shop, she'll drink herself into oblivion; the rum burns her throat as it goes down, but there's nothing in the world quite like rum to remind her of Jack Sparrow.

-

05. Flight
If she had a choice, Elizabeth thinks she would like to be reincarnated as a seabird—free to fly wherever her heart desired, never forced to choose between the land and the sea.

-

06. Fairy Tale
A black ship with black sails, crewed by the damned and captained by a man said to be as fearsome as the sea itself; Elizabeth can think of no fairy tale more enchanting than this.

-

07. Legend
His past is a convoluted mystery, hers a boring tale of high society; together, she thinks, they could weave a romance of legends.

-

08. Taste
She lifts the bottle slowly to her lips—the rum is the closest she'll ever get to tasting Jack Sparrow again.

-

09. Treasure
She asked him once what he considered to be the most valuable treasure in the Caribbean, expecting him to say something witty and charming and purely Jack; instead he frowned and stared out at the empty sea, and said nothing more than, “What indeed...”

-

10. Lies
Perhaps every word was a lie, but she doesn't mind; after all, ignorance is bliss.
