"You're green," I inform her, looking at her face.

She groans, yanks a pillow from behind her head and throws it at me. "Shut up, John."

"You'll be fine - you're telling me to shut up," I joke, to her apparent disgust.

After scouring her kitchen for something edible - and finding nothing - I go back to where she's lying on the couch. "Do you ever buy food?"

"That's a stupid question."

"If you do, your kitchen doesn't show it."

"Ever think that not everyone wants to hear what comes out of your mouth?"

She's sarcastic - even more so - when she's miserable and green. Interesting.
