Chapter 4: The Truth

"Can I come in?" Amaya asked from behind the door. Mitzuki, who was sitting at her desk and listening to her radio swivelled around in her chair before replying.

"Sure sis!" Amaya hesitantly walked in, before sitting on her own bed. Sending Mitzuki a sad and slightly confused look, Mitzuki then got off the chair, and sat beside her sister. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder she hugged her tightly, Amaya smiled. Her sister always had the solution for her problems, just as she had the solution for Mitz’s problems. They always had each others back, unlike the constantly bickering siblings you see everyday, it was great to always have someone to count on.

"What is it this time?" she asked, taking Amaya's hands in hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze. Amaya took a deep breath before looking up at her sister with puzzled look upon her face, causing Mitzuki to frown.

"W-w-well, I-I-I think it's JD. He's been doing more research on the mews... I think he knows - " Mitzuki cut her off abruptly, jumping of the bed and pointing at nothing.

"He would not! If he does, I'll hurt him!"

"NO!" Amaya yelped as she stood up and pulled her back down onto the bed with a soft thud.

"I-I-I think I should tell him everything I know, sis. I can't stand it anymore!" Tears began to fall down her face trailing down her cheeks and falling down onto her lap as she looked down at her feet sadly. Mitzuki moved in closer, and hugged her sister, a concerned look upon her face as she stared down at her sobbing sibling.

“Shh… It’s ok. If you think its time, then go for it. Tell him everything.”

“Are you sure?”

“Only if you are.” Amaya gave a determined nod before letting her head fall onto her 5 minute older sisters shoulder.

"Thank you, sis." Amaya said, wiping her eyes. "You're the best friend anyone could have." Amaya leaned back onto the bed, and curled up, much like a cat, and went to sleep. Mitzuki did the same, and wrapped her arms around her sister. In this state of serenity, the two twins drifted slowly off to sleep...

I wonder what JD will think when I tell him that I'm a mew? I hope he'll understand that it was not my choice. Dad made me a mew so I could help the aliens to take over the Earth…

After a while, Amaya woke up, taking Mitzuki's arms off her, she then tucked her up in bed, and crept out of her room, and walked downstairs to the kitchen. For a few minutes she sat at the table staring at the wall in front of her as she held a glass of juice in her hands. It was dead silent, you couldn’t even hear any walls creaking, the twins mum was out grocery shopping so there was no bubbly voice to awaken her from her constantan dreaming.

"Guess who??" Someone said loudly... And at that moment, Amaya's ears and tail popped out, and so did Mitzuki's. Amaya turned abruptly on the spot only to see he sister in the same state as herself. They looked at each other for a moment, and giggled. Mitzuki put a hand out, and stroked Amaya's ears and tail, to which she replied with a soft purr.

"I thought you were asleep?”

“I was but I woke up. I heard mum pull up in the drive way.” Mitzuki said with a laugh, to which Amaya grinned. They started giggling like crazy only a minute later, oblivious to the conversation that was occurring in the hall that lead to the kitchen until it paused when the two people reached the door.

“Oh god..” A familiar male voice said and Amaya looked up in shock as she came in eye contact with JD. Who looked shocked, he blinked before turning away and heading down the hall leaving the two twins and their mum to stare after him, completely speechless.

“You should go.” Mitzuki said as she got up, she then helped up her sister before shooing her away. Into the lounge room where JD sat on the couch clicking away on his laptop. Amaya sheepishly smiled at him as she walked in and sat down next to him on the couch, not really no what to say.

“What are yah doing?” she asked quietly.

“Deleting some stuff…” he said and she looked over at the screen, he was deleting folders and folders of research, and all of that research was on the mews. Amaya blinked before moving her eyes to look at JD in shock.

“W-what? What are you doing?” She asked surprised and he looked at her the minute he deleted th last folder. Grabbing her hand he, he sighed.

“If writing this article, means I have to expose you, your sister and your friends to the rest of Tokyo. Then I don’t think I wanna do it…” The sat in silence for awhile before Amaya looked at him an apologized.

“You don’t need to apologize. It’s a big thing, and I’m a reporter. I’m not angry, I understand…”

“I was gonna tell you… I swear.”

“And I believe you.” he said as he hugged her, Amaya sighing as she wrapped her arms around him.

"It doesn't matter that much. I still like you, whatever you are, kitten." He said in a soft tone, causing Amaya to blush...

"Kitten its a cute name, isn't it?" Amaya said, as JD went back to his laptop. She pulled him close, and the two of them hugged for a long time. A curious Mitzuki came into the lounge, and saw the two teenagers cuddling, which caused a grin to spread across her face.

I’m glad things worked out for her. Cause if he had even thought about revealing us… He’d be gone… She thought with a giggle before exiting the room and leaving the two alone.

Meanwhile, outside, someone else had been watching them… As he sat on the tree outside the lounge room window he plotted. Plotted the capture of his prize, she wouldn’t see it coming. No one will…
