Chapter 1: Just partners, nothing more.

Another boring day at the Jeffersonian.
There hadn’t been a new case in weeks and the squints were spending their working hours doing totally nothing. Hodgins and Zack were playing a poker game in Jeffersonian’s launch. Zack was totally losing.
Angela sat in the corner of the launch, secretly drawing Hodgins.
You could hear Hodgins’s rock music through the whole building.

Brennan was sitting behind her computer in her office, writing another chapter for her new novel.
She sighed. Since there hadn’t been a case in weeks, she also hadn’t seen Booth in weeks. She longed for a difficult case with a lot of fieldwork with Booth.
She wanted to call him, just to hear his voice again. But she has no reason to call, what would she say? Hey Booth, I’m just calling to hear your voice. I miss you, so please come over here and lets do something fun. By the way “I love you”.
Brennan smiled; she would never say something like that. They’re just partners, nothing more. He probably doesn’t even like her.
She continued typing.

Booth was in his apartment watching television. He had taken a few days off, because he had nothing to do at work anyway.
What’s the matter with DC last weeks? He thought Did all criminals decide to go on vacation or something?

Booth loved some time off, but he also wanted to do some work again, with Brennan of course.
He was thinking about going to the Jeffersonian to visit her, just to see her face again. But since there was no case, he had no reason to be there. He couldn’t just show up with no reason. What would he say?
Hey Bones, how are you? I just came by to see your face. I miss you. Why don’t you take some time off too, so we can spend some time together? By the way, “I Love you.”
Booth sighed. He would never dare to say that to Bones.
They’re just partners, nothing more.
She probably doesn’t even like him.
