Chapter 10: Kitajima Ayako

Kaname finished his story with a nice ending. Yuuki blushed and looked at him.

‘That’s nice, ne?’ said Yuuki. ‘A very fine story about our parents’

‘That’s true’ said Aidou. ‘My dad is cool, ne? He guarded the school gate’

‘Hmm.. My mom surely brutal’ said Kain as he laughed. ‘I supposed I take it from her’

‘My dad as well’ said Takuma. ‘He surely loves to joke around’

‘Mom and dad are very nice to each other’ said Kanayuki. ‘What they said surely true. We’re the ones who always connect them’

‘Umm! My father surely good--’ said Yuuki as she smiled sweetly. ‘But not all of them, were alive today’

As soon as Yuuki said that, all of them went silent as they stared to the ground. Sound of tears was heard from Kanayuki.

‘Uhhuh...uhh...’ said Kanayuki as she cried. Takuma noticed her crying. ‘Mommy... daddy... uhhuh...uhh...uhhuh..’

Kaname stood up and went to her. He patted her and tried to calm her down.

‘There.. There... Kana, we can’t do anything about this’ said Kaname. ‘Father’s gone. Mother’s missing already’

‘Kaname? You said your mother’s missing?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Yes. Why?’ he said.

‘Maybe we can find your mother if we search for her!’ said her.

‘It’s impossible, Yuuki. We already tried searching for her everywhere around the place, but there’s no clue of her’ said Kaname.

‘Not only that, there’s no trace of her at all. The councils already search far and high, but the answer is still no’ said Kanayuki as she looked at the ground.

‘I see then..’ said Yuuki as she sighed. ‘But then, the person who’s missing is your own mother!! As her children, shouldn’t’ you two tried to find her?’

‘But..’

‘Yuuki-chan, it’s impossible to find her now. The councils are still searching for her now, so far there’s no trace of her. So how are we going to find her if she’s gone?’ said Takuma.

‘I still want to see her--’ said Yuuki. ‘I want to find her!’

‘Eh--?’ asked Cross. ‘For real?’

‘Yes, Chairman! Tell me where the last time you met with Ayako-san?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Hmm, let’s see.. The last time I met her was when I’m about 18 or something’ said Cross.

‘What--?! Isn’t that like about 25 years ago-?!’ asked Yuuki.

‘Yes, that’s the time’ said Cross. ‘After all of us graduated, that was the last time we ever meet’

‘Then, what about father?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Hmm? Well, about 10 years ago, I think..’ said Kizuna. ‘Probably during the time when they visited us at home’

‘Oh.. But what exactly happen between the Kuran’s with the vampires?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Well, as far as I heard, some of the vampires refused to listen to the orders of Kazumi, resulting to a fight between them with him’ said Kizuna.

‘The result of that fight is, Kazumi was injured. He was badly injured by those vampires’ said Cross.

‘Ayako was there to help him. Because she was angry, she of course hurt all of them. Most of them died under her hands’ said Kizuna.

‘I see. Did Kazumi-san passed away?’ asked Yuuki.

‘No idea at all’ said Cross and Kizuna.

‘Why?’

‘Kazumi was missing that time. We had no idea of what happen to him. Few days later, even Ayako was missing’ said Kizuna.

‘So, after Kazumi-san’s disappearance, Ayako-san tried to search for him and ended up missing?’ asked Yuuki.

‘True’ said Cross. ‘Because both of them are missing, their children were left alone in the mansion’ said Azuma.

‘Kaname and Kanayuki?’ asked Yuuki. Azuma nodded.

‘Kanayuki that time was just about two or three years old. Kaname that time was about 7 or 8 years old’ said Azuma. ‘He was still young to take the role as the master of Kuran family. Not only that, he was left with his sister who was still young’

‘Then, what happened?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Luckily, Azuma-san found me and Kanayuki in the house and wondered where my mother is. He took both of us and let us stayed at his house. That’s how I get to know Takuma. I was told that Ichiou is the guardian of my family, and if anything happen to the members of Kuran family, they were the ones who will take actions regarding us’ said Kaname.

‘Kaname..’

‘I was taken care of the Ichijou’s until I’m old enough to become the head of the Kuran family. I was given the title when I’m 12’ said Kaname. ‘I respect you wishes to find both my parents so, let us work hard to get what we want’

Yuuki smiled and nodded. ‘Umm! Let’s go find you mom and dad!!’

‘Yuuki-!’ called Kanayuki. ‘I’m back!’

‘Welcome back, Kanayuki-chan! Get anything?’ asked Yuuki.

‘A bit of information--’ said Kanayuki.

‘What is it?’

‘Here. Everything I got today is from those who were staying in the forests. According to them, they saw an unknown woman passing by their homes. They said, the woman had a long hair, probably black or brownish-black? Maybe like that. The woman didn’t even stop, she just went passed them’ said Kanayuki.

‘Ayako-san had black-brownish hair. It could be her’ said Takuma.

‘I also thought the same. But what they said was years ago-!’ said Kanayuki. ‘If we search for her now, who knows where she is anyway..’

‘Any other information?’ asked Kaname.

‘Nope!’ said Kanayuki. ‘But have to wait for Rima and Shiki. We went together to search, but on some point we separated’

Suddenly a sound was heard from the window.

‘Who is it-?!’ asked Kain.

‘It’s us!’ said Shiki. Rima also with him.

‘You two scared us!’ said Aidou.

‘Sorry about that. We’re in hurry actually’ said Rima.

‘Found anything?’ asked Kanayuki.

‘We found something’ said Shiki. ‘But it stuck to the ground, so we couldn’t take it with us’

‘But we took picture of it’ said Rima. ‘I think it’s better if you go clean the pictures’

‘Okay! I’ll be back with the pictures’ said Shiki as he excused himself to clean the pictures.

‘Now I wish we had a digital camera’ said Kain. ‘Me too’ said Rima. ‘But we only have old version of camera, we can’t help it’

20 minutes later

Shiki opened the door and saw lots of vampires waiting for him. Kain and Aidou stared at him, while the others looked angry.

‘I’m sorry for being late’ said Shiki. ‘Got some trouble with it’

‘Show us the picture you took’ said Ichiou.

‘Here is it’ said Shiki as he put the picture to a slide machine. The picture of the photo was shown to the slide. ‘This is the picture I took’

Kizuna, Azuma, Cross, Riff, Armelia and Ichiou were shocked of what they saw.

‘That thing-!’ said Cross.

‘I don’t believe what I saw’ said Armelia.

‘It can’t be true!’ said Kizuna.

‘How come?’ asked Azuma.

‘... Kazumi’ said Ichiou.

‘What is that?’ asked Aidou. ‘Oi, Shiki. Are you making fun of us?’

‘No, I’m not. As far as I know, this thing is something owned to Kaname’s father, Kuran Kazumi’ said Shiki.

‘Kaname’s father’s properties?’ asked Kain. Shiki nodded.

‘That’s true, it’s Kazumi’s dagger’ said Azuma. ‘He always brought it with him every time he went out’

‘Judging from how the dagger looked like, it is not that old’ said Ichiou.

‘What does that mean?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Meaning, Kazumi was there few years ago’ said Ichiou. All of them were shocked.

‘For real?’ asked Kanayuki.

‘That’s true. The dagger was owned by him. There’s no doubt that it was him who dropped it’ said Kizuna.

‘But, what if the dagger was kept by Ayako-san?’ asked Ruka.

‘Wait, that’s true too’ said Riff. ‘We don’t know what happen to dagger. Kazumi might gave it to Ayako’

‘So, we have two answers. One is it might be Kazumi who dropped the dagger. Or two, it must be Ayako who dropped it’ said Armelia.

‘This is getting much more complicated than ever’ said Kizuna. ‘Or can it be that both of them were together?’

‘Nah--!’ said Cross. ‘Remember what Kanayuki said before, some of the people in the forest saw a woman alone passing by their homes. So, it wouldn’t be possible for her to be with Kazumi at the same time’

‘Argh! This is getting rather strange’ said Azuma.

‘...’

‘Kaname..’ said Yuuki.

‘Mother...’

Suddenly a light appeared in the room. All of them didn’t know what happen!

-Somewhere in a dream world-

Kaname was seen floating somewhere. It’s not the real world anymore, it’s a dream world. But why is he here?

He opened his eyes. ‘Ah-- Where am I?’ he said as he woke up. ‘Where am I?’

‘Kaname!’ called Yuuki. He turned around.

‘Yuuki-?!’ called Kaname. ‘Where are you-?!’

‘I’m here!’

‘Yuuki-!!’

‘Kaname, where are we?’ asked Yuuki. He shrugged.

‘I don’t know, Yuuki’ he said. ‘I don’t know’

‘Nii-sama! Yuuki!’

‘Kaname-kun!’

‘Yuuki!!’

‘You two!’

‘Kaname!’

‘Yuuki!!’

‘Eh-?’ asked both of them as they turned around.

‘Father!’

‘Kanayuki-?!’

‘Nii-sama!!’ cried Kanayuki as she went to her brother and hugged him.

‘Where are we, Kizuna-san?’ asked Kaname.

‘If I’m not wrong, we’re in a dream world’ said him.

‘Dream world?’ he asked. Kizuna nodded.

‘Yes, a world where we never actually existed here but our minds are here’ said him.

‘But, what’re we doing here on the first place?’ asked Takuma.

‘Look!’ cried Aidou. ‘There’s something there!’

All of them went to Aidou to see what’s going on. On their shocking eyes, they never thought that they’re actually watching Kazumi and Ayako, in a place alone.

‘Father... Mother...’ called Kaname.

Kazumi & Ayako

Ayako was walking around the lake. She was walking quietly and heading to the lake. When she reached there, she sat on the nice grass.

‘Kazumi..’ said Ayako. ‘Where are you?’

She stared at the water. An image of her appeared at the lake. She took a small pebble and threw in into the lake. splash

‘Huh.. It’s no use’ she said. ‘Kazumi’s not here at all. Where am I supposed to find him?’

She lied down and stared at the skies, thinking about her past.

‘All those times, all of us are together’ said her. ‘We always stick together no matter what happen. We promised to be together, but then, nothing happen!’

Tears came from her eyes. She was crying. Her lover was not there to comfort her, not even calm her down.

‘Kazumi.. Kazumi--!’ cried Ayako. ‘Where are you-?’

She cried again as her head was lying on its left side.

‘I wondered how Kaname is. What happen to Kanayuki, I wonder? I hope they’re alright. I hope that the Ichijou’s could protect both of them’ she said. ‘I don’t even know where I am--! How can I return? How can I?’

She stared at the left side of the lake. She closed her eyes to calm herself down.

Suddenly a figure of someone appeared from the back. He went to Ayako quietly. Then he went down and brushed her hair to the side which revealed her nice, fresh neck. He touched the neck and went near it as his fangs were shown. He then bites her neck and sucked her blood.

Like a lightning shock, Ayako suddenly woke up but as soon as she tried to move, she was blocked by the person who held her closely.

‘Ah--!!’ cried her. ‘Hurts!! Let me go!!’ said her as she slapped him.

‘Argh!’

‘Who are you-?! Why are you sucking my blood? Shit!’ cried Ayako as she stayed away from the person.

‘Ayako-! What’s wrong with you?’ asked Kazumi angrily. Ayako was shocked with what she saw.

‘Kazumi-?’ asked Ayako. Kazumi nodded and stared at her.

‘It is wrong for me to suck your blood? I’m you husband, right? Ouch!’ said Kazumi he cried in pain.

‘Kazumi, I’m so sorry! I don’t mean it actually. I thought you were someone else!’ said her as she quickly hugged him. ‘But where had you been? I’m dead worried!’

‘I’m sorry--’ said Kazumi as he kissed her forehead. ‘Something happened back there. There, stop crying already! You’re not a baby anymore! You’re my wife!’

‘Sorry--’ said Ayako. ‘I love you, Kazumi-’

‘I love you too..’ said Kazumi. He leaned towards her and went to her neck as he sniffed around there making her startled. Then he bites her neck and sucked her blood.

‘Aah--’ cried Ayako. ‘Oh-! Kazumi, don’t do that!!’

‘Why? You’re mine! So let me have you!’ said Kazumi as he continued sucking her blood. After a while, he stopped and Ayako lied under him exhausted.

‘Ah-- Hah--’ said Ayako. ‘My heart is beating faster than the usual--’

‘Really-?’ asked Kazumi. Ayako smiled and held his face, as she brought him closer to him and kissed him.

‘Mmm-!!’ cried both of them while kissing passionately.

‘Well then, let’s get going. We already far from those two. It already been almost 10 years or more than that’ said Kazumi as he cleaned Ayako’s dress that was stained with her own blood.

‘Okay-! I can’t wait to meet Kaname and Kanayuki! They must already grow up--’ said her as she smiled. ‘Talk about it, who do you think they look like?’

‘Hmm? Well, they might look like me. But both of us are beautiful in all aspects. So whether who they looked like, they looked like us’ said Kazumi as he kissed her.

‘Ah--! I do think that Kaname might inherit the genes of yours! You pervert!!’ cried Ayako.

‘Hahaha.. Well, it’s not really strange in my family, you see. Even my father is a pervert--’ said Kazumi as Ayako blushed. ‘For real--?! Your father is a.. Is a pervert-?’

‘Don’t believe in me? Ask my father if he’s around. After all, if my father’s a pervert, then shouldn’t his son be a pervert as well?’ asked Kazumi as he continued kissing Ayako.

‘Whaa-- I don’t want my cute Kaname being turned into a monstrous pervert like you!!’ cried Ayako as she tried to struggled from Kazumi. ‘Let me go!!’

‘Okay.. Okay! Let’s go then, it’s going to be quite an adventure--’ said Kazumi as he smiled strangely.

‘Stop smiling!!’ cried Ayako angrily. Kazumi laughed.

‘Let’s go then. Oi, Mizure! Let’s go--! We don’t have time to delay. Sakuya’s waiting for you, and of course even your daughter is waiting for you’ said Kazumi as Mizure appeared from the bushes.

‘Alright then, Kazumi-kun. Hi Ayako-chan!’ said Mizure with a big smile.

‘Mizure-chan!! You returned!’

‘I’m missing-- but Kazumi found me and he took me along’ said Mizure.

‘I see-!! Sakuya must be happy!’

‘Yes, I’m sure he would. I’m also sure, Yuuki would be happy’ said Mizure.

‘Oi, you two-! Let’s go already! Reunion’s over-- We got to go back as fast as we can, right-?!’ said Kazumi as he led the way.

End Kazumi & Ayako

‘Father... Mother... They’re alive!’ said Kaname. ‘I’m so happy!’

‘Me too, nii-sama! Papa and mama gonna return soon!! I want to see them!’ said Kanayuki happily.

‘Mother is still alive, father. Mother is alive!!’ said Yuuki.

‘Mizure-- you’re an idiot’ said Kizuna.

‘But just how are we going to return back to reality?’ asked Kanayuki. ‘I want to see mom and dad--’

Suddenly, a light appeared. ‘Aaaaaaaahhhhh--!!’

-End of dream world-

‘Eh-? Where are we?’ asked Kanayuki.

‘Hey, we’re back! We’re back!!’ said Aidou and Kain.

‘Ergh-! Whoa-- it’s like a dream’ said Kaname.

‘What dream, Kaname-chan?’ asked someone.

‘Eh-? Why did you called me Kaname-chan?’ asked Kaname as he looked at the person. ‘Eh--? Eh--?!’

‘Hi Kaname-chan! You grew up well! I’m home--’ said Ayako as she grinned.

‘Mom--’

‘Mommy!!’ said Kanayuki as she dashed to Ayako. ‘Mommy! I missed you--’

‘Ah-- My sweet little darling, Kanayuki--’ said Ayako as she hugged Kanayuki. ‘My little baby-!’

‘Where is father?’ asked Kanayuki. Ayako pointed her finger to a figure of someone at the back.

‘Father--?’ said Kaname.

‘Kaname...’ said Kazumi. ‘You’re grown up already. You looked like me when I’m the same age as yours. You’re 18 now right?’

‘Yes, father’ said Kaname as he smiled. ‘You’re still like yourself, still strong and tough’

‘Ah--’

Suddenly...

‘Kyaa--!! Kazumi who were once dead, now returned alive-!!’ cried Azuma. Everyone laughed.

‘What does that mean? I’m not dead yet!’ said Kazumi angrily.

‘You’re a total different from Kanamechii-!’ said Azuma. ‘He’s a bit quieter even though he looks like you-!’

‘Hey, Azuma! Don’t just take Kazumichii away from me! I want him too!!’ said Cross.

‘No way, Cross! No way! No way! No way!’ said Azuma. ‘He’s mine! Mine and only--!’

‘Ouchieee--!! Who did that-?!’ cried Azuma in pain.

‘Ichijou Azuma-! How dare you say Kazumi’s yours?! Correction, sir! Kazumi is the property of MINE! He’s mine, Kitajima Ayako-!!’ said Ayako angrily.

‘Hey, we can share him right-?’ asked Azuma.

‘Take back your words--’ said Ayako. ‘Kazumi’s not open for sharing. He’s mine, so be with it!!’

‘Ai-- but still’

‘Want me to hit you?’ asked Ayako as she readied her weapon.

‘No-! Please don’t!’ said Azuma. Ayako dropped her weapon.

‘Do it again, I’ll kill you! Kazumi’s mine, and always be mine! You can’t share him at all. He’s my property!’

‘Gomen!!’

All of them went for dinner in Cross Academy. They made a big feast to celebrate the return of Kuran Kazumi, one of the most honored vampires in the history of vampires.

‘Cheers!’ said all of them.

‘How I wish that the humans would like to celebrate this big feast with us!’ said Azuma.

‘Well, I’m sure they wished too, but they were just afraid of us vampires!’ said Cross. ‘Even though I wanted to make peace with them’

‘Cross, if you want I can help you’ said Kizuna. ‘I’m an expert when dealing with humans’

‘What did you meant by that?’ asked Cross. Kizuna grinned.

‘Well, you knew that I had moved to the town which full of humans’ right? I’ve already adapt myself into living with them. There’s nothing to be afraid of. If you actually do well to them, they return your goodness by doing the same to you’ said him again.

‘How nice--’ said Cross. ‘Oh well, all of you!! Eat and have fun in here! Cross Academy owned by me is going to be great with lots of fun!!’

‘That’s true, Cross!’ said Azuma. ‘You’re so good! You don’t get a wife, but already built an academy’

‘Well, if you wanted to know. My wife is the academy. Cross Academy is my wife!’ said Cross proudly. All of them were dumb-founded.

‘You’re in love with the academy?’ asked Riff.

‘Yes, I am! What do you think?’ asked Cross.

‘Cross..’ said Armelia.

‘What?’ asked him.

‘ARE YOU KIDDING US--?!’ shouted Azuma, Kizuna, Riff and Armelia.

‘Get a life, man!’ said Azuma. ‘You need a woman, not a building!’

‘Who cares? My building is the prove of my accomplishments--!’ said Cross as he laughed.

‘... Whatever’ said all four of them.

‘Minna, let us have a toast!’ said Kaname as he held his glass.

‘Cheers-!!’ said all of them.

‘This is great, right Kaname?’ asked Yuuki as she smiled happily.

‘Yes, it’s great. All secrets are no longer needed. All needed was us, Yuuki’ said Kaname as he drank his drink. Yuuki blushed.

‘Yes, everything else already completed. How about us?’ asked Yuuki.

‘Hmm--?’

‘I love you, Kaname’ said Yuuki as she blushed.

‘I love you too, Yuuki’ he said as he smiled.

The finally kissed alone, without anyone seeing what they’re doing.

‘What?’ asked me.

‘Hey, atemu! What about me and Takuma?’ asked Kanayuki angrily. ‘What happen to both of us?!’

‘Yeah, what happen to us?’ asked Takuma. ‘Tell us it’s a happy ending. Or else, Kana-chan gonna go mad’

‘Well, duh--’ said me. ‘Of course you guys get nice ending’

‘Really-?!’ asked Kanayuki. ‘For real, where-?!’

‘Let me tell you already..’ said me as I whispered the good endings to Kanayuki.

‘Oohh--!’ said Kanayuki. ‘Nice--!’

‘Happy now?’ asked me.

Kanayuki smiled and nodded in agreement.

‘Well then, I’m glad you like the ending’ said me.
