A/N: In this story all the words in quotation marks are Yuna’s thoughts. Anyway as for the story goes, I got the idea from starting a new game of FFX-2, so enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don’t own anything Final Fantasy; it all belongs to Square Enix.

The Nightmare

By: MidnightWolf91

I lay down pulling the sheets over me, as I think to myself “ Who’s Lenne, and what does that sphere we found on Gagazet have to do with Tidus?” I started to ponder these thoughts as I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep. I look around trying to figure out where I am. It’s so dark, but somehow this place seems so familiar to me. I feel someone take my hand, looking up I see the one person I’ve been searching for, and thinking of since we parted two years ago. There’s a distant sound that I recognize as footsteps, you tighten your grip on my hand, as we start running.

“Tidus is it really you, who are these men and why are they after us”. I think to myself. You shh me quietly, and look behind us to see them getting closer, my heart’s pounding. You make a sharp turn into a narrow passage; surprised I stumble to the floor. As you help me up you give me a weary smile as we start running again. “Tidus please, tell me what’s happening, what’s going on, please say something”. I silently beg, wanting to hear your voice even if it’s only in a dream.

We stop running as we reach a dead end. “This looks like the place I saw in that sphere” I thought to myself. Suddenly the lights turn on, as the men form lines with their guns ready to fire. You pull me close ready to protect me from whatever happens. I look at you seeing tears stain your eyes. You look at me adoringly, giving me one last comforting smile trying to let me know everything’s going to be all right. I feel tears fall down my face as I look one last time into the eyes of the man I love. There’s a loud bang as I feel a sharp pain flow though my body, the force of the shot pushes me backwards onto the stone cold floor. I look at your body; it’s so lifeless and cold. “Tidus?” “Tidus wake up please, don’t leave me”. I scream in my head as tears fall down my face. “ You said not until the end, always, Tidus please don’t , I…” I draw my last breath, as I hear the footsteps of the men come towards us out of the darkness.
