Author’s Note: This is my first GaaHina fan fic, I’m not crazy for this couple because I’m a NaruHina fan, but this fan fiction is for those who dedicated their support to this couple. In truth, they would be a great couple too, by reading other GaaHina fan fictions has help me get started, I hope you all enjoy. Please review and feel free to give me any ideas or give me tips. But please leave good comments only! I also added some characters that I made up, please feel that it is not against Naruto! Arigato minna san! I hope I can make the story up to 12 chapters! Also, the first chapter may not have love yet, but that will come along soon! At least, I hope.

Chapter 1 Protect the Kazekage

The vengeful hidden grass kunoichi charged towards the Kazekage, Gaara of the Desert, she threw a kunai but Gaara’s sand shields him safely. The other grass nins are concentrating on how to surpass Gaara’s defenses. Kankuro was wounded earlier by the grass ninjas attack. The grass kunoichi made some hand signs and summons many vines that grew under the Kazekage, "Grass Village forbidden vines summoning jutsu!" Gaara, unaware in the jutsu was captured for a moment, until he breaks free of the vines with his new strength. "Who are you and why are you after me grass ninja?" Gaara demanded.

" Fukai is my name, I came for a revenge that I promised my boyfriend, you blood thirsty demon! I won’t forgive you!" Gaara smirks and cross his arms on his chest because his opponent was a female. "I did not kill your boyfriend, I had not been to Kusagakure recently, you had mistaken, go get your revenge somewhere else before I kill you." The surprised kunoichi looks up at the fierce Kazekage, her expression changed for a second. "My, the Kazekage is quite hot himself," Fukai thinks to herself. "Liar! Everyone knows you are that cruel blood thirsty red head! Gaara of the desert, I’ll take my leave now, I will not kill you yet but I will make you suffer, the way I did!" She smiles evilly and says, "I’ll meet you again."

With those last words, the kunoichi jumps away along with her comrades, Gaara gave a low growl to his brother for being so careless. "G-Gaara, I think she poisoned me, man, I was caught off guard by that bitch!" Gaara looked down at his brother, the sand around Gaara flew around Kankuro and pulled out a needle from Kankuro‘s neck.. " Paralysis Poison, you will be paralyzed, you need medical attention before the poison spreads to your head and attack your brain cells." Gaara was pissed at his brother for losing so easily. "Huh?" Kankuro looked at his brother confused and blushing. "A Sand ninja caught off guard by some girl, Kankuro, you’re weak," Gaara’s words were cold as his sand lifted Kankuro up.

By then Temari and some medic ninja had arrived. "Gaara! What happened?" Temari bends down to Kankuro, "What’s wrong!?" Kankuro can no longer speak, for the poison had spread to every nerve in his body. "He’s been poisoned Temari nee san, he needs medical attention before that poison attacks his brain cells." "P-poisoned, by whom?" Temari wanted to know what happened to Kankuro and why ninja’s are suddenly attacking the Kazekage. "I don’t know, a kunoichi named Fukai is after me, saying that I murdered her boyfriend years ago. I don’t recall killing a guy from the Kusa." Gaara stood and cross his arms across his chest. "I would’ve killed her but I must know what’s going on, before I can do anything."

Temari gave a relieved sigh because Gaara did not kill anyone yet. "That’s right Gaara, good thing you did not kill her. You there Asako! Lead your team to Suna right away!"

Gaara looked up at his sister and nodded. "Yeah, we shall see," Gaara muttered and they both left without saying a word.

"Tsunade sama, the grass village shinobis are threatening the Hyuuga clan and we must do what we can to help keep the Hyuuga‘s Byakugan a secret. I think we need to send the Heiress Hinata Hyuuga to safety." Shizune said. The Hokage shifted uncomfortably in her chair. "Her father requested this?" Tsunade questions Shizune. "Well, no, actually Neji-san wanted this done but he is one of the geniuses of Konoha." Tsunade nodded as she listens to Shzune. " Hinata is the Heiress of the clan, why are they after her instead of Neji? He’s more stronger."

"Hokage, Neji Hyuuga has the caged bird seal that will keep the Byakugan sealed after he dies, they are not after someone such as him. The are after the main branch of the family, such as Hyuuga Hinata herself. If we sent Hinata to our allied country, then we might gained enough time to protect her and time to investigate why they want it. The best thing to do is to hide Hinata, they are only after her."

Someone was knocking on the door and a small voice asks, "Tsunade sama, um, may we come in?" Tsunade motions for Shizune to open the door. "Ah, Hinata chan, Shikamaru san, why are you here? Shikamaru yawns and stretches, "I was on my way to the academy but I thought I should tell you something that I heard from Temari"

"Yes Shikamaru, I heard about it already, I was just about to send someone for you, but you’re all here, I’m going to give you two a mission." Shikamaru was not surprise, he’s always getting a mission from Tsunade, but he always complains anyway."

"A mission? Tsunade sama, I-I, not at the moment." Hinata wanted to tell Tsunade that this time was a bad time for a mission. "This is an A-rank mission so pay attention. You really don’t have to do much, because the Kazekage is also pretty strong himself." "T-the Kazekage?" Hinata was surprised, the last time she saw Gaara was during the Chuunin Exams. He had been a cold blooded killer then, Hinata shivered at the thought. Gaara was now the Kazekage, Hinata wonders if he still kills people. " Any how, we just need you to protect him for the moment."

" How troublesome, now more work to do."

If Naruto was here, I would‘ve send him, but you will do fine Shikamaru." Hinata blushed at Naruto’s name being mentioned. "Naruto," she thought. "I wonder how he is doing right now..." After she had confessed her love to him, Naruto said that he felt the same way towards her too. He kissed her on the cheek before he left on his mission with Neji. Hinata blushed at that memory that she will never forget.

"Are you ready Tsunade sama?" Temari was standing at the doorway, along with Gaara who stood stiff, crossing his arms. "Yes, these people had accepted the mission, please allow them to help anyway they can." "I never agree to anything Tsunade sama!" Shikamaru whined. "How troublesome." Temari smirks and she said, "Let’s go Mr. Crybaby. Thank you Hinata chan for coming along with us." Hinata bowed to the two siblings. "Yes, I will accompany you and the Kazekage." She passed by Gaara and Hinata’s fingers brushed with Gaara’a arm, he stiffened and followed them out of Tsunade’s office.

"Now that I think about it, where’s Naruto?" The Hokage stood and walked to her window nervously. "I already sent him with Neji to Kusagakure yesterday. I had a bad feeling after Neji had caught the grass ninja, that they might do something dangerous. They are after one of the Hyuuga clan’s technique, the Byakugan. Not only that, they are mostly after Hinata." Shizune looks confused, she taps her fingers nervously on the Hokage’s desk. "Then why send Hinata with them, she can be in great danger already!" Tsunade sighed," That’s one way of drawing her out of danger for a while, we must investigate this further for Hinata’s safety."

" What about the dangers of Konoha?" Shizune was greatly puzzled by now. Tsunade made her decision, "They are not after Konoha, only Hinata, they will not waste time to find her will they?"

The desert was already scorching hot, Shikamaru was a man so he acted as if he don’t mind. Gaara and Temari were used to living in this hot climate, they did not notice any discomfort. Hinata though, her soft pale skin was getting burned from the sun’s rays, no one seems to notice until they took a break. "Hinata! Your skin’s burned!" Temari rushed over to her. "Do you feel any discomfort?" Hinata gave Temari a small smile, and nodded her head. " It’s just that I’m not used to this kind of weather in the desert, I’ll be fine." Temari took out some body cream that she carried with her in her small sack. "Here, rub this on your body, it will cool you down and hopefully, it will also reduce the redness from your skin."

Hinata hesitantly took the body cream and thanked Temari, giving her a bow. Hinata wasn’t going to use the cream so she tucked it inside her coat and moved on. Gaara was surprised that she made it this far in the desert with a coat, usually whenever other people from another village arrived in Suna, they complained immediately of the deserts discomfort.

It was getting dark in the desert now so the team stops at a nearby oasis for the night. It was cooler at night than it was in the daytime, everyone was asleep except for Hinata. How can anyone sleep when there are sand in their hair and clothes? Hinata decided that she was going to bathe on the other side of the oasis while everyone was still asleep, or are they? She quietly walked away hoping not to wake anyone up. It was dark but she used Byakugan to make sure that she did not step on anything or see anyone. All clear, no one was around.

Hinata poke one toe in the water, it was refreshingly cool. She smiled and stripped herself slowly one by one in case she can quickly pull her clothes back on if anyone came near. She took off her coat, then unzipped her vest and unwind her bandage bindings. She pulled down her capris and her panties and walked into the water, enjoying it’s coolness. She rinsed herself and the moon reflected in the dark water. It was clear tonight, almost visible enough to see in the dark.

Gaara had realized later that Hinata was missing. He was not there before to watch her leave, he was somewhere else at the time. Maybe she got kidnapped? He walked around in the darkness, looking for traces that any body might leave. He found no sign of anything, except for sand on the place where Hinata was lying on earlier on. He was not worried, or concerned but he stood up waiting for Hinata to return. Finally, he cannot wait no longer, something probably happened to her. Gaara stood up, and releases his sand from his gourd spilling out and floating around him. They immediately did what’s on Gaara’s mind. Find the girl and lead me there. Gaara’s sand took off, leaving him behind for a moment.

Hinata was still in the water not wanting to come out. She soon felt something rough, grasping her, pulling her back. To Hinata’s horror, there were sand around her body lifting her back to shore. Hinata gasp but controlled herself and did not scream. Gaara stood in front of her seeing her naked, he was quite shocked. "W-what are you d-doing? K-Kazekage sama?" Hinata felt herself blushed for he had seen behind her clothes.

Gaara felt himself blushed, he did not to expect to find her naked and bare. Gaara rarely blushes, but this girl had taken him too far. Gaara felt himself staring at her, against his will. His eyes were on her long legs, traveled up to her small waist, and then to her breasts. "Why am I so drawn to this sight?" Gaara wondered. Hinata was embarrassed, she can feel his eyes on her. She tried to shield herself, but it was no use. Gaara finally forced himself to break away and walk away, his sand trailing beside him. Hinata cries softly for her embarrassment because Gaara was the first man to see her naked.

Gaara was wide awake under the glowing moon and he watched Hinata as he tried not to remember what she had looked like under her clothes. He shifted uncomfortably in his position and turned away from her, as if she was still naked. Hinata said no word and laid down on her jacket that she spread on the floor. She cannot forget the looks in his eyes either when he had saw her. She wished that this night would passed on by quickly, to rescue her from shame! Finally Gaara said something that Hinata can’t quite register, "Where have you been?" Of course he knows where she’s been but he can’t stop himself from asking the question. "K-Kazekage sama, I-I am sorry about w-what you saw..."

"What are you talking about, I saw nothing." Gaara cursed himself when he said that, of course he had seen everything. "It was, um, there were sand in my clothes, I’m sorry. I had to rinse myself because I can not sleep." Gaara didn’t say anything more, and Hinata blushed at their awkward conversation. "That was foolish thing to do, a-and I’m s-sorry."

"What was a foolish thing to do?" Temari sleepily rubbed her eyes. Hinata blushed completely, hopefully Temari had not heard their conversation. "U-um n-nothing at a-all, I-I was, um, Gaara s-sama, I-I w-was just t-talking to him, n-nothing more Temari sa-san, go back to sleep." Hinata just can’t tell her what Gaara had seen, Shikamaru was awake too. "What’s all the noise?" Shikamaru stretched and yawned. "Hinata was just starting a conversation with Gaara, I wonder how she can do that. I can only get important information from him." Temari sleepily yawned. "Man, it’s so hot here, I’m going to go and take a bath, don’t anyone come sneaking, you wanna come Hinata?"

Hinata shook her head furiously and she stuttered, "N-n-no thanks! N-n-n-no thanks at all!" Temari shrugged and left by herself. "What’s with her?" she thought to herself. "It’s like she saw a ghost or something." If only she knew.

She’s embarrassed, Gaara can tell, all day she had been avoiding his eyes and when he offered her water she’d shriek scaring everyone. "Gaara what did you do to her?" Temari asked. Gaara didn’t answer her, he wouldn’t have anyway. "Did something happened last night that we didn’t know about? Gaara felt angry at what his sister said, he glared at her. "Why would I do that?" Temari knew his looks, and she backed off. "I don’t know, ever since yesterday night she’s been afraid to look at you." Gaara was starting to get pissed towards the way Hinata had acted towards him.

They finally arrived at Suna and there were ninjas there, welcoming the Kazekage back home. Gaara nodded his head of approval and he walked off back to his duties. Hinata wasn’t sure where to go so Temari offered to let her stay with them for a while until her mission was over. "Arigato Temari-san, I won’t have to pay money for a hotel then." Temari leads her to the Kazkage’s office where Gaara was sitting and signing treaties. "Gaara, Hinata chan is going to stay with us until her mission is over, she can sleep in your room that you don’t ever use, all right?" Sleep in his room? She rather stayed in a hotel alone, with no one to bother her.

"Um, it’s okay Temari-san, I can just rent a hotel room." Temari shooked her head, "Not only you were here to protect the Kazekage but we must protect you too. If you don’t want Gaara’s room, then you can stay in my room while I use Gaara’s then." Hinata gave in and agreed. "You don’t need to ask for my permission to let a guest spend the night, I don’t care." Gaara gave Hinata a look that made her blushed. "Nee san, you can stay in my room, I don’t even sleep anyway." "Arigato, K-Kazekage sama." Hinata thanked him without looking at him. He cannot stand it no longer. "Look at someone when you speak, are you forgetting that I am the Kazekage?" Hinata forced herself to look into his eyes. They were very angry looking and cruel. " Arigato Kazkage sama," Hinata said with all of her summoned courage. Temari and Hinata finally left his room.

"Why do I care if she looks at me or not, she fears me now I know it! Why would I care, people will fear me! I’m used to it, I do not want her to fear me!"

"Hinata chan, Gaara looks angry, he usually don’t care if people looks at him when they talk or not. I wonder what’s wrong?" Hinata shivered when she remembered his angry eyes. "I don’t know, probably he just doesn’t like me." Temari shakes her head, "I don’t think so, I might not say that he hates you, he’s stubborn and if you don’t give to him what he wants he gets angry. Temari suddenly asked Hinata a question. "Have you ever kissed a guy?" Hinata blushes at Temari’s question. "You know a girl said that Gaara was a good kisser, I almost choked when she told me that." Hinata felt herself wanting to tease Temari. "Why Temari-san, have you ever kissed Shikamaru kun?" Temari blushed hard from what Hinata had said. "Hell no! I-I would n-never k-k-kiss him!" Hinata was smiling, the first time since she’s been there, Temari really was a life saver. "Hinata chan, haven’t you heard? Naruto san is coming to Suna!"

Hinata wanted more than ever to see Naruto, she misses him so much. When she heard that Naruto was coming to Suna her heart leaped with joy. She wanted to prepare for his arrival, she knows he must be tired from his mission. "So he is coming to Suna for a while." Hinata blushed at the thought of his happy face smiling at her. "Arigato Temari san, for telling me this. Hinata face was deep red, she wanted to tell Temari everything about her love for him and about how she feels when he is around her. "Don’t tell me Hinata chan, Naruto’s the first guy you kissed?" Hinata was so embarrassed about Temari’s statement. "N-not really..."

. "Lord Kazekage, you have a visitor awaiting you." The messenger nin entered his office. "Tell him I’ll be there." The messenger nin gagged, "No, Kazekage sama the visitor is a grass village female kunoichi, her name’s Fukai." Gaara gave the ninja a questioning look. Why would a Grass Village kunoichi want to see him?

" He must be coming, I can’t wait!" Fukai wanted revenge, but she still needs to get closer to him. "I’ll get my revenge Kazekage." Hinata stepped outside and Fukai saw her. "A leaf headband? You’re from Konoha?" Hinata looks at her and smiled. "Yes, I’m on a mission." "Judging from Hinata’s white eyes, she must know the Byakugan."Fukai thought to herself. Fukai got the information that she needed, she was pleased that Hinata answered her so easily. "What is your name? Leaf ninja?"

"H-Hyuuga Hinata." Fukai griined, "Ah, so this is where they are hiding her the Heiress, not bad. We searched all over Konoha for her, now I know."

"Do you know where Gaara is?"

"He’s probably on his way down here he’ll be by soon, nice meeting you." Hinata gave a small bow and left. Gaara was outside by now and he could see that Fukai was there waiting for him. "Gaara sama!" She waved to him. Gaara didn’t say anything, he kept his face expressionless. "Cold as usual aren’t you, in this hot desert you can still be so cold." Fukai puts her hand on his shoulder. "Don’t touch me, say what you got to say and leave." The kunoichi dug her nails into his shoulder.

"I’ll get what I want, my boyfriend is long gone now I must move on. My next choice Kazekage sama, who shall it be?" Gaara looked straight, avoiding eye contact with the girl. " Do you know who I want? Can you get me what I want?" Gaara clenched his teeth and muttered something. "Who is it? Why would I care. I don’t give a damn about what you want." Fukai smiled because she enjoyed the little game that she’s playing with Gaara. "Gaara, you’ll be surprised, the man that I want, is-" He is getting annoyed, damn! This girl is wasting his time, he turned around to walk away from her. "Get out of here, they might think that we have an affair!" Fukai gave a sly smile, "That’s right Kazekage, we are having an affair, you know? The man that I want is YOU!"

Gaara couldn’t believe his ears, the Fukai wants HIM? "Get out of Suna." Gaara rushed away, furiously. "You’re wasting every damn time that I’ve got!" Fukai was only amused, "Well fine. If you decide not to love me, then I’ll kill your loved one." Gaara gave her a naughty smile. "That’s fine with me, I will fight you then, I love only myself and if you want to kill my loved one, then you must kill me, I don’t love anyone."

"Not at all Gaara, you will love someone and when you do I’ll find out, see you again." Fukai kissed Gaara on the cheek and winked at him before she left. Gaara was getting tired of his duties and he just ventured out into the village, "Damn," he thought.

Hinata was walking around Sunagakure, she obviously didn’t know where she was going. Gaara was in the village without guards, he didn’t really want them to tag along him anyway. It was pretty hot, almost evening in Sunagakure, everyone was busy doing something. Hinata lowered her face and tried to shield it from the sun, a dog and a boy ran in front of her jumping out of no where. Hinata swayed and bumped into someone. "Huh?"

Gaara glared at her as she brushed herself. "Kazekage sama? You’re alone, without your guards..." Gaara can see the tiredness in her eyes, he smirks and wonders how long she will be able to take this hot weather." "Why don’t you protect me than Hyuuga?" Hinata found that she had forgotten about her task, she’s getting dehydrated from the heat. "K-Kazekage s-sama, I-I can’t right now-"

"No! Only Hyuuga Hinata can escort me back!" Hinata remembered Temari’s words, "He’s stubborn and if you don’t give to him what he wants, he gets angry." Hinata looks in his eyes, the only thing that shows his expression. They were showing her that he’s disappointed and angry, Hinata gave in because she knows she’s going to have to do it anyhow.

They were on their way to Gaara’s home, but Hinata’s vision was a blur and she collapsed onto someone’s arms. Gaara realizes how much he wanted to kiss those lips of hers and so he kissed her lips and moisten them with his tongue. He finally took her inside his house only to find Temari. "Hinata? Gaara! Why did you let her be like this? Shit! She’s dehydrated!" Temari rushed over to Hinata and helped Gaara carry her into her bedroom. "You, go fetch me a towel and a bowl of water!" Gaara gave his sister a warning glare because he’s not used to Temari telling him what to do. "Now!" Temari glared and annoyed with her brother. For the first time, he actually felt afraid of his older sister, surprisingly he obeyed.

Temari undress Hinata, Hinata was naked except for the breast bindings and her shorts. Gaara returned with the water and towel and backed away when he saw that Hinata was half naked. "Come here now!" Gaara hesitantly walked over to Hinata and Temari, "You dope, she’s not completely naked! Here, do this! It will help her body to cool down." Gaara watched as his sister shows him how to gently wipe Hinata’s skin with the wet towel. "Don’t do anything stupid you hear? I’m gonna go and make some herbal tea which will regain her strength.

Gaara hesitated as he wipes Hinata’s overheating body with the cool wet towel. He remembered the sight of her at the oasis and blushed. (Gaara’s not the type of guy who usually blushes.) He found himself wanting to touch her. With his other hand, he strokes her legs and arm, he traced her curves. It felt soft to him, he wanted more. He kissed her shoulders and he finally forced himself away. "Okay Gaara, you can leave now, I brought her tea," Temari came in holding a cup of hot hebal tea. Gaara glanced at Hinata and he finally stood up to leave the room. As he came out the door a messenger nin told him that Naruto Uzumaki and Neji Hyuuga has arrived.
