Doctor Who 100 Challenge: candle

They'd searched for days, hoping to find the earliest example of writing on the planet. Following half-remembered stories and whispered legends, they'd found themselves deep in a long-forgotten cave system.

Tracing a finger over the carved pictographs on the wall, Rose watched the characters dance in the flickering light as she worked at the Doctor's side. She gasped as a breeze plunged them into darkness, reaching out blindly and breathing a sigh of relief as the Doctor's fingers entwined with hers. "You do know how to get us back home, yeah?"

The Doctor squeezed her hand, pulling her close. "Always."
