Chapter 3
Robin sat on the roof of the tower. He dangled his feet off the edge and sighed. The sun was setting and he was thinking about the choice he had made about The Blues staying there.
‘They barely act like superheroes, more like super-rich brats.’ Robin thought angrily, clenching his fists. ‘And their leader is barely a leader. First of all, her and her “team” invite themselves here. Then she gets new superpowers when her and her “team” tags along, and she hardly knows how to control her powers and her team?! What is with her? She can learn a few things from me. She is only 14, her and the rest of the super-brats. Where did they even come from anyway? I bet they went and bought their superpowers.’ With every thought, we got angrier and angrier. He picked up a small stone next to him and chucked it into the ocean with a loud grunt. Then, he heard a rustle behind him. He whipped around.
“Hello?” he called behind him. “Is anybody there?”
Beast Girl held her breath from behind the door.
‘Dang it,’ she thought. ‘He heard me.’ Thinking quickly, she snatched the plate of pizza from the floor and peeked out the door. She wasn’t spying; she had actually been up there to bring him the pizza. But when she heard his thoughts, she had stopped cold. That was harsh.
“Robin!” she said with a huge grin. “Hi!!” Robin rolled his eyes and sat down again.
“Hi.” He said with his back still to her. She paused for a second.
“I…brought you some pizza!” she said, sitting next to him. She smiled at him gleefully.
“Uh huh….” He said, still trying to ignore her. Beast Girl handed him the plate.
“Umm…Robin?” she said, forcing a look of concern on her face. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” He said blankly.
‘What the… why is he lying to me??’ she thought angrily. Steam felt as if it were coming out of her ears. Three gumballs popped out of her hand. Robin looked up from his shoes that he had been quite interested in the whole time.
“What was that?” he asked as he almost looked over his shoulder.
“Oh… nothing. Nothing at all.” said Beast Girl nonchalantly, hoping he didn’t notice. “Anyway, I just wanted to say…thanks. For everything. You know, for letting us stay at your house, for not getting mad at me for getting Taffy everywhere…” she trailed off. Robin chuckled. Beast Girl laughed too, and then her laugh faded. She looked up smiling.
“You’re a great leader. I hope that someday…” she paused. “Someday maybe I can be like you.” And with that, she got up and left.
Robin looked at his shoes again, but this time, he was smiling.
‘Well, maybe she isn’t so bad after all.’ He thought.
Beast Girl was hiding behind the door and heard that last thought.
“Wow,” she said, like she didn’t believe it. “He actually trusts me…"
“What’s up?” she said, not realizing who she was talking to. No answer.
“Umm….hello…?” she said sort of nervously, waiting for an answer. There was very slow, heavy breathing at the other end.
“Who is this??” she kind of shrieked, but softly because she didn’t want anyone to hear her.
“You made a promise…” said a deep, scary voice.
“Hey, is Beast Girl okay in there?” Ocean asked worriedly.
“I don’t know,” Dolphin said, looking around. “I think that…Demon should check on her!”
“Why should I?” Demon retorted. She looked up. Ocean and Dolphin were glaring at her.
“Fine,” she said, getting up and walking down the hall to the restroom. Just as she was about to knock on the door, it flew open.
“Hey…” Demon said calmly. “Are you alright?” Beast Girl’s eyes were wide.
“Of course,” She said, heading back to the room. Demon stared after her.
‘What is going on?’ she thought.
Dolphin looked up at the door to see Beast Girl coming in.
“Hey,” she said, smiling. Then her smile disappeared when she saw Beast Girl’s face. It was pale and her eyes were wide. Ocean looked up too. She gasped.
“Holy Cra-“she managed to shout out before Dolphin slapped a hand across her mouth.
“Umm….are you okay? You don’t look so good.” Dolphin asked calmly.
“Yeah I’m….alright….just thinking….” Beast Girl stammered. She lay back on the queen size bed and looked up at the ceiling. There were stars painted on it. Then she sat up and looked around the room. There where cliffs and rocks painted on the walls. The Titans said that it had belonged to one of their friends. They called her Terra. It was weird, because that name had rung a bell in BG’s head, but she didn’t know why. She looked over at her friends and they were both staring at her.
After watching Robin and Cyborg play game station, Demon decided to go back to the room. As soon as she walked in she saw her friends.
They all had worried expressions on their faces, and they all looked nervous.
“Guys…?” she started. They all looked at her. “What…what’s wrong?”
Ocean, Dolphin and Beast Girl all looked at each other.
“Beast Girl, tell her what happened.” Ocean said to BG. She nodded and walked over to Demon.
"Demon..." Beast girl started, her voice quivering a little. "He said...he said to start. Now."
