A/N: Nowhere else to put these, so I made a new story for them. A series of drabbles. Very random.
Elayne loved being beautiful. Beauty was power, she learned, and she lost no opportunity to flaunt her attributes, such as they were. A bat of her eyes convinced a young boy that flowers were not that expensive after all, and a light laugh and swish of her reddish hair caused many a young man to decide that running an errand to the fashion district of Caemlyn was not really such an imposition after all. She rewarded her admirers with a smile if they were lucky, and she knew very well that poems were written about her eyes and graceful motion. Gawyn snickered when he heard them, but Elayne knew the power that having that kind of control over men could bring. Her mother did not really approve of Elayne's…habits…but she let it go with a small smile and a light scolding. But desires of young men changed with age. "Beware of setting brushfires," Morgase had cautioned her. "Men hardly know the difference between a smile and an invitation."
Elayne had been careful enough, though she still thought her mother's words a ridiculous precaution. But then, if someone had told her the Dragon Reborn would fall in love with her, she would have told them to dunk their head in a bucket of water. She had set a brushfire the first time she had tended his bleeding head. And it just might be a brushfire that would burn the world.
