The Emma Lurkey interview

Yes, I'm back again, and this time, I'm interviewing someone different; Mayor Lurkey's daughter, Emma, the star of most of my Chicken Little stories.

Emma: Hi.

Hi to you, too. First of all; what's it like being a mayor's daughter?

It's okay, I guess. I can't really compare it, though, because he was elected before I was born and I haven't really been anything else.

Fair enough. What did you think of the Chicken Little movie?

Which one?

The first one, not the Commander Ace one.

Oh. I think it's pretty good, because it shows what our town is like. Those alien invasions were pretty scary, but heck, they were scary when they happened! I didn't like them showing my dad getting zapped, though.

Who do you admire most in life?

My father, because he always looks out for me.

Does he spoil you?

He does! I guess it's because I'm their only child at the moment, but I've never noticed anything different. I'm certainly not as spoilt as Jodie Pony and those other rich kids!

Do you want to be a mayor when you grow up?

I'm planning on being a politician, so we'll see where it goes from there!

You mentioned earlier that you were an only child. How do you feel about the idea of another sibling?

I'd quite like another sibling, to be honest. It does get a bit lonely, being the only child, so it would be nice to have a younger brother or sister to play with.

Does it ever get lonely being the only kid around where you are?

Only when I'm forced to go to parties. Pretty much everyone on my neighbourhood is an adult, and it does get a bit lonely. But it's better than those other parties I have to go to; the ones where all the rich kids show up.

I take it you're not a fan of the rich kids, then?

They're not all bad, but a lot of them are terribly snobby. They won't go into a room because it smells like 'poor people', for instance - I mean, if you won't go in there for that reason, then you're going to be in a lot of trouble when you go to the movies! Like I said, they're not all bad, but I just don't find it easy to make friends with that type of person.

Do you have any friends?

Yeah, I have friends; Leah Rhea, Hootie Owl, Ronnie Bunny, Patty Batty, Shane Crane and Misty Fetchit. I met most of these guys through my parents or a town meeting, since I don't go to school.

What's that like? Not going to school, I mean?

I actually prefer it, because when I started school I was bullied a lot, and my dad had to take me out. Now I'm tutored at City Hall by Stu Gnu - he's one of my dad's friends, and he was a teacher.

What's your favourite subject?

English - it's one of the few things I'm good at. I think I read too much...

Love your style - where did you get your clothes?

Thanks! I got my clothes at the tailor's at the town hall, since they don't sell clothes in my size in the mall. Needless to say, this doesn't make me very popular with the other kids.

Now, this may sound a bit rude, but why are you bald? Some people who should be bald aren't.

I guess I screwed up! Seriously, though, I think it's because I take after my father in pretty much everything except gender. I don't mind being bald, though.

(Author's note; Actually, it's because I'm mean and made her more biologically correct than other characters)
