Planet Mobius! For years it has been the place for both war and peace. Starting with the humans and finally ending up in the hands of the mammals. The planet has deep scars from the years of conflict that had taken part upon it. Unknown to its inhabits, the planet pain was felt millions of miles away by a race of beings that believe it is their calling to save planets such as it from destruction. Taking years to accomplish, the beings have finally found Mobius and plan to end the suffering of the planet and the people on it once and for all.

High in orbit of the planet Mobius, a large pyramid shaped object appears. Nearly a mile wide at the base and just as tall, the ship is built of a strange purple metal and violet lights shine dimly across its surface. From the corners of the ship, near invisible beams of light scan the planet as the beings on board view the data.

In side the ship is a massive pyramid shaped room. Several clouds of energy float through the room. The room is filled with a verity of colors as well as voices. “This planet is torn far more than we originally thought. It is actually split into four.”

“Each planet is slightly phased into a different universe. Connected, yet apart. How should we deal with this problem?”

“The problem is essentially the same on each planet. I suggest we merge the four into one planet and see what happens.”

“I have labelled the four planets as Mobius X, Mobius SATAM, Mobius Earth, and Mobius Fan.”

“Why such a different array of names? Wouldn’t one through four be enough.”

“Just because I have more creativity than you is no reason to..”

“Enough!” A loud voice silenced the room full. “I have analyzed the data and have considered the options. The creatures on this planet will survive if we merge the four into one. We shall proceed and hope that it solves the problems that are ripping the planets apart. And lets fix the moon while we are at it.” The room went dark.

In space, the ship began to glow with a bright purple color. It spun around so that the point on the top was pointing at the planet. A large beam of multicoloured shot from the ship and impacted the planet. Briefly four different planets could be seen and then in a flash, they exploded. The shards spun around and reformed into one planet. The ship grew dark and simply waited to see what the result of their work would show.

Sonic the Hedgehog woke up with a small headache. “Damn! Felt like I was hit by one of Robotnik’s laser cannons.” He was laying in a blue sleeping bag on a large rock outcropping. The moon was full and the sky clear. He was on the northern continent and was enjoying the summer air. The blue hedgehog stood up and walked to the edge of the outcropping. A large lake with a forest background was in front of him. “Don’t I have a hut?” Sonic rubbed his head as he tried to sort his jumbled head. Many thoughts that weren’t his, but then again were, filled his mind. Sonic walked over to his bag and grabbed a small red device from his backpack. It was a small radio. He pressed the green button. “Tails! Can you read me?”

There was a beep and a loud yawn from the device. “Sonic? Do you know what time it is?”

“Night time!”

Tails sighed, “Whats up?”

“I woke up with a very weird feeling like I don’t belong here, but then again I do.”

“I told you not to eat so many chilidogs before going to bed.”

Sonic managed to grin. “I know, but I am serious.”

Tails was silent for a moment. “Come by my house tomorrow and will do some test.”

“Thanks pal. Good night.” Sonic shut off the radio and set it down. He took one more look at the full moon. “Why does that look wrong?” He shook his head and went back to sleep.

Robotnik sat in his command chair deep with in his city of Robotropolis. He rubbed his large belly and was surprised to find himself slightly thinner than before. He was sitting in complete darkness staring at a large holographic image of the planet. Lines of different colors marked the territories and who controlled what. While he wasn’t completely sure, but he knew that his territory was significantly smaller than he remembered. And the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere was almost normal. Even with his factories spitting out as much as they could. His mind was jumbled with different images and thoughts he couldn’t find places for. He was sure that it was only his high IQ that allowed him to even begin to sort out his mind.

“Sir!” A short man with a pointed nose and only six long hairs on his head walked out of the shadows. “I have finished the test runs on the new Buzz Bombers.”

“Buzz Bombers?” Robotnik flexed his right hand, half surprised it wasn’t robotic. “Why do I still use those things. What about my Hover Swatbots?”

“The bombers are smaller and more agile. Are you alright sir?”

“I’m fine Snively.” Robotnik ran his fingers through his orange moustache. “I just have this feeling that things are not quite what the seem.” He pressed a few buttons on the arm of his chair. “Computer! I want all satellite images downloaded now. Every angle possible. Snively!”

“Yes sir!”

“I want a complete timeline from my rise to power to now.”

“Yes sir!” Snively ran off to complete his task.

Robotnik grumbled and watched as images from space began to appear. “If anything has happened, I want to know what.”

The next day, Sonic ran to Tails’ workshop near the edge of The Mystic Ruins. He stopped and looked at the large train tracks that stretched all the way back to Station Square. The capitol of the human territories. It seemed out of place and yet it belonged there. Sonic shook his head and continued to the workshop. It was a decent size stone building on top of a large cliff. Sonic sprinted up the long stone staircase and up to the front door. He knocked and a small camera attached to the top of the door moved to look at him. The blue hedgehog waved and the door opened. Sonic stepped into a large room that filled the building. His biplane, The Tornado was sitting at the very center. Tails was sitting in the cockpit. “Hey Tails!”

The orange fox looked up from the controls. “Hey Sonic!” The small fox jumped out of the plane. “How you feeling?”

“Still having that same sense of weirdness.” Sonic looked around. “But it isn’t as bad as last night.”

“Technically it was this morning.” Tails motioned for Sonic to follow and the pair walked to a metal plate that was sitting on the metal floor. When the two got on it, it shook and began to lower downward.

“This is new?”

Tails gave him a weird look. “I’ve had my lower lab for about a year.” The plate landed on a solid floor and the pair were in a smaller room under the plane garage. A wall was covered with computers and a large pile of scrape on the far wall. Tails walked over and sat down in a large computer chair. “So what should we start looking for?”

“Any thing that feels different and yet the same.”

“That shouldn’t take long!” Tails shook his head as he started to tap into Robotnik’s computer mainframes and Station Square’s super computer. “I’ll start with a few satellite images and see if anything seems out of place.”

In high orbit above Mobius, a lone space station slowly circles the globe. Shaped like half a sphere, its flat side looks strangely like Robotnik’s face. Inside, a lone figure sits in a large command chair in the dark. With a small beep, monitors around the chair come to life. “You thought you could hide.” The figure opened his eyes as the ceiling lights flickered on. The being known as Shadow the Hedgehog got out of the chair and moved towards the main control panel. Shadow was created to be the world’s ultimate life form. His mind was filled with what he labelled different versions of himself. They were intertwined to from his current mindset. He ignored it for the moment. He had more important matters to attend to. A large screen lowered from the ceiling and an image of a pyramid shaped ship appeared. “Near perfect cloaking technology.” He activated the positioning thrusters so that the sensor dishes were pointed right at the ship. “Now to find out what they are doing here.”

Tails sighed as he started to receive data. “I’m starting to see what you mean. The planet is split in between Robotnik and the human/mammal alliance. It seems normal and yet not normal. What is going on?”

“No clue Tails. But something funny is defiantly going on around here.”

Tails started to scroll through the images from space, but his computer flashed red. “I’m getting a priority one message from Freedom Fighter HQ.” The screen went blank and an image of a brown squirrel with red hair appeared.

“Tails! Thanks god I finally reached you. Robotnik has been jamming every communication frequency for the past couple of hours.”

“What is going on?”

“I don’t know! Something big is going down. Robotnik has his city and defensive boarders on full alert. Is Sonic with you.”

“Here Sal.” Sonic moved his head were Sally could see it on her monitor.

“Sonic!” A small grin managed to break through her grim look. “I’m afraid I have a dangerous mission that only you can accomplish.”

“Give me the details.”

“I need your help in sneaking into Robotropolis and accessing Robotnik’s mainframe directly. We need to know what he is plotting.”

“A walk in the park Sal. I’ll be right there.”

“Thank you!” The screen went blank.

Sonic headed for the lift. “Maybe I will be able to get some answers about what is going on. Tails, Stay here and continue searching.”

“Right!” Tails waved by as the lift moved upward. “Be careful.”
