Ch 4

Linus wondered how they were going to stop Vactorus and save Max. Elissa relaxed near him. He’d calmed down a lot since he’d became friends with Max after Merissa destroyed Mr Electric with the Crystal Heart. He saw worry in her eyes. “What’s wrong?” he asked her. “I… was just thinking what if when we destroy Vactorus, we go back to Earth and Max…” she said. “In case he’s the same as we left him.” Linus finished for her.

She nodded. Lava Girl then heard laughter come from the Sea of Confusion and saw worry on Shark Boy’s face as they ran there at super speed. Vactorus had gone under water and used powerful Nightmare magic to the sharks against Shark Boy. This freaked Shark Boy out. The sharks had never been this way before. “They’ve never been like this, angry at me. Vactorus must’ve done this to them! That’s so not fair and when I see him, I’m going to tear him to shreds!” he thought as he prepared to dive in to help his shark friends. He then saw Linus and the others look at him worriedly. "Are you sure that's a good idea? Vactorus is gonna make them hurt you and I don't want that to happen because ... I care about you." Lava Girl told him. "Don't worry LG. I'm King of the Ocean so they'll have to listen to me." Shark Boy replied to her. "Be careful!" Elissa yelled as he dove into the freezing water. In the real world Max was bowling with Merissa when he heard Lava Girl's voice in his head. "Max we need you! Come to Planet Drool and dream again. We could use your help." she said to him. He then shook his head. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost or something." she asked him. "Nothing. It was those voices again. They wanted me to go to somewhere called Planet Drool and dream but I don't what they're talking about." he told her. She was worried. Ever since fourth grade, Max had been a powerful dreamer and now all of a sudden he was forgetting all about them and Planet Drool. She wondered if it was her fault because it had been after they'd started dating, this had happened.

"Max they need you. Don't you remember any of your dreams or Planet Drool? Not even Shark Boy and Lava Girl? They're your friends. They have been since fourth grade." she asked him. "No I don't. Besides they'd probably forgot about me and the planet must've decayed by now. Besides if I dream again, people would make fun of me again like Linus used to. Just drop it, okay? I'm not going to Planet Drool." he told her. Vactorus cackled as he heard that. With Max not dreaming, he was getting more powerful and ready to destroy the planet. He then saw Merissa and was nervous. She still knew about Planet Drool and that made her dangerous to him. "I'll just have to make her forget like her boyfriend." he thought. Merissa then followed Max out of the bowling alley whrn she saw something grab her. To her, it was a creature made of black matter but to Max, it just looked like fog. "W-What do you want?" Merissa asked scared. Vactorus smiled. "That's good. Your fear will help to smash Planet Drool and all your boy friend's dreams!" he told her. He then brought a tentacled hand to her face. It latched itself onto her head. Max heard her scream but what was she afraid of? All he could see was black fog. He watched as shw vanished. "Merissa no!" he yelled as he tried to think of options. But the only one that came to his head was going to Planet Drool.

He wondered how he was going to get there but he heard Lava Girl's voice in his head. "Max Merissa's in danger. You've got to save her! To get to Planet Drool, close your eyes and dream." he heard her say. He then closed his eyes. Suddenly he felt a warm feeling he hadn't felt in a long time wash over him. He then vanished...
