Imagined Adventures
My mind wanders.
Ever moving,
ever changing.
Try to concentrate.
Words on the page dance,
forming a picture,
never standing still.
Ever moving,
ever changing.
My mind takes the picture
the dancing letters form,
and make it something else.
A new world,
waiting for me.
Wanting me to dive in,
to embrace its mystical wonder.
Words can wait.
I let myself sink deep,
far within the magical waters
of the imagined world.
A new adventure awaits me.
Often one I have done before;
but it will be different.
A new outcome.
Some event changed ever so slightly.
I can stay for hours
in one imagined world.
Living my dreams,
my wishes, my desires.
The ones that can never come true.
I know none of this is real,
yet I enjoy it.
There I am everything I’m not.
Everything I wish I could be,
yet I am still me.
The adventure ends.
Days went by in my mind,
but only a few minutes in reality.
I turn my attention back to the paper.
Back to my pen,
and the words spilling from it.
Back to my story.
The stories I write,
are the many adventures I experience.
Few are written down.
Many remain in my mind.
They are all wonderful, all exciting.
I put the best on paper.
Only the best for my readers.
Whether I am, in these stories,
hero or villain, dragon or human,
warrior or witch.
I am still me.
I ride the waves of adventure
my mind provides.
Stories waiting to be written.
Adventures. So many. All different.
All in my mind. Stories.
Ever moving.
Ever changing.
