A Little Bad Weather
Rating: Teen
Disclaimer: I don't own anything! Sadly!
Summary: Gil and Catherine experience a little bad weather.
A/N: OH MY GOD. Guys. I laughed so hard while typing this. It just came to me like... (bam) that.
"Aww! That's so cute!"
"Huh?"
"Gil Grissom is actually afraid of something." He rolled his eyes.
"I am not afraid! I'm just..." He looked over at a very amused Catherine. "... not that... alert?"
"The day you become less alert is the day I'll stop drinking Dr.Pepper." She finished drying the dishes, saved them, and turned off the kitchen light. Both walked into the living room and snuggled on the couch, turning on the TV. Lightening flashed and she felt his grip around her waist tighten. "I'm not going anywhere. The least you can do is let me breathe."
He chuckled and with one hand, reached for the remote lying on the coffee table in front of them. The only light on in the house was the TV that was now on. He flipped through the channels and stopped when he came across the weather channel. Catherine groaned and tried to steal the remote away from him.
"We've watched the weather channel almost seventeen times in the last two hours! I'm not listening to that annoying elevator music for another second!" She had gotten a grip on the end of the remote, but he gently brushed the tips of his fingers over her stomach and smirked when she giggled and let go. "Un-be-leave-able. I hate it when you do that," She grunted. He ran his fingers over her neck and softly pushed her smooth hair away.
"What was that?"
"Nothing," She was quick to answer. He smiled, pulled her closer, and barely turned the volume on the tv louder.
"And it looks like Las Vegas is in for some pretty rough weather tonight."
"Way to spoil the mood, Gil."
"Can you believe that? Seventy percent chance of rain tonight! And eighty tomorrow! Deserts will be turning into gulfs before we know it." She stared at him for a few minutes before she removed his arms from her waist.
"Goodnight, Gil." Just as she began walking towards the stairs, lightening flashed the TV turned itself off. She instantly stopped and sighed.
"Cath! Where are you!?"
"I'm right here! Stop screaming!"
"I can't see you!"
"Way to state the obvious." He sat on the sofa, frozen with fear. He listened carefully and heard her feeling around the room. "Do the lights work?"
"If they worked, don't you think I would have turned them on?"
"Well if they don't work then what are you doing?"
"Looking for a candle and a lighter."
"Neither of us smoke, genuis." She moaned and squinted her eyes, trying to adjust to the sudden darkness. Lightening flashed and thunder roared outside.
"Well I guess you have a point. We should just get to bed." She felt around and walked into the kitchen, grabbing her cell phone. She opened it and lit up the living room. She laughed when she saw Gil clutching to a pillow. "You chicken." He got up from the sofa, grabbed her hand, and walked up the stairs, into her bedroom. The tree next to her window was swaying back and forth from the heavy winds and the rain made it almost impossible to see outside. Already in their pajamas, they crawled into bed and cuddled with each other.
"How are we going to wake up if we have no alarm clock?"
"Hand me my cell, would ya?" She set her alarm for 5:30 in the morning and set it back on the nightstand. He practically covered her body with his as lightening flashed again. "GIL! I can't... breathe!" She shoved him off of her. "Baby, I know you're scared-"
"I'm not scared! I'm just... deathly afraid of bad weather."
"Well if I snuggle with you and tell you that you're safe, would you stop sufficating me?"
"Maybe..." She smiled and crawled over his body. She rested her head on his shoulder and softly kissed his neck. "Love you."
"Love you too. Now get some sleep, tough guy." He closed his eyes with a smile on his face and drifted off to sleep with her snuggled warmly in his arms.
--
"Psssh. Cath. Wake up."
"Mmm. Don't wanna go to school. No," She mummbled. He slightly jumped at the crash of lightening and looked down at his sleeping girlfriend.
"Baby, wake up."
"Gil? Hmm. What?"
"I need you."
"I bet you do," she said as she closed her eyes again.
"No. Wake up!"
"What?!" She sat up in his lap and rubbed her eyes.
"... I need you to come downstairs with me."
"Why?" She narrowed her eyes.
"... I want a glass of water."
"Jesus, Gil! Go get it yourself!" She rolled off of him and settled in her side of the bed. She gasped when the cold sheets met her skin and scurried back into his arms.
"If you don't come with me, I'm going to make you sleep on your side of the bed." She blew the bangs out of her eyes and jumped out of the bed. She started walking down the stairs when he ran after her. "WAITDON'TLEAVEME!" He raced down the stairs and collided with her back, almost knocking both of them over.
"Get you water and lets go!"
"But-"
"NOW!" He grabbed her hand and led her into the kitchen, keeping her by his side for every move he made. She yawned and went to yank her hand away so she could stretch, but he wouldn't let her. "What gives?"
"No. I'm not letting you go. I'm not stupid. I've seen those horror movies. Where the boyfriend drags the girlfriend along in the house when the lights go out and when he lets her out of his sight for a few seconds, she mysteriously disappears." She was quiet for a moment before she broke out into fits of giggles. "You are so paranoid."
"Yeah well, rather be safe than sorry." He downed his glass of water and placed it into the sink. "Kay. Let's go."
"You better drink more. Because I am NOT getting up so I can hold your hand while you get something to drink." He shrugged his shoulders and drank a few more glasses of water. "Are you hydrated enough?"
"I think so..."
"Wonderful," She said sarcastically. They walked back into her bedroom and cuddled underneath the covers again. "Great. Now the sheets got cold."
"They'll warm up."
"They better." They drifted off to sleep again, only a few more hours until the alarm on her cell phone would wake them up. They were pressed together as tight as possible. Her head snuggly fit between his chin and his shoulder.
--
An hour later and the weather was still pretty bad. He woke up to the sound of crashing lightening and thunder. There was a familiar tingling in his stomach. He sighed and opened his eyes.
"Psst. Cath..."
"Mmmm. Gil."
"Cath, wake up. Please?"
"No. You wake up," She mummbled.
"Come on. Get up."
"What?"
"... I need to go pee."
"GOD!"
"...come with me?" She shoved her pillow in his face and pushed him out of the bed. He screamed and tried to jump back in. "AH! THERESSOMETHINGUNDERTHEBED! SAVEMECATHERINE!!" She moaned at his loud voice and stole all the covers, leaving him none. "Oh well that's just great." Lightening flashed again and he screamed.
