I know I should be working on the sequel to Can the Heart Forgive, but this idea just wouldn’t leave me alone. So enjoy this late V-day fic! Aaaannnddd, cue Bakura!

Bakura: Zhen (A.K.A Zutarachick) doesn’t own anything! But I will, once I steal it……

Me: Don’t you dare!

Only people he deemed worthy could see him, only she could touch him, hold him, comfort him, love him. To anyone in Metamoor, it would be an honour above all others, to her, it was merely something that had happened, but a welcome gift. Unlike the beings who he was constantly around, she didn’t show fear. She didn’t act like a slave, something to be ordered and controlled. Although she never told him, she regarded him as an equal, someone who had suffered as much as she had, at the hands of people who where supposed to have cared, at the hands of an entire world. Few people knew about their relationship, and those who did were forced into secrecy. Her friends, the guardians, couldn’t find out, she cared about them, and didn’t them hurt by something she did. He wanted to keep the only person who cared about him safe from the wrath of those who would kill her for her ‘betrayal’. Their meetings were never planned. Occasionally, a portal would appear in her room, and, with a sense of relief, she’d step though, walking into a warm embrace. Or he could enter his chambers and find her sitting on a balcony, staring at the sky.

The prince’s arms wrapped themselves around her, pulling her closer. He could almost feel the smile on her face as his lips met hers, edging him on. His hands moved across her shoulders, his fingers gliding over her thin collarbones. Will wrapped an arm around his neck, directing him closer. Smiling, Phobos placed a hand on her back. Moving it upwards, he pulled off her top, drawing her right up against him. Smirking slightly, Will twisted around and undid Phobos’ robe, moving her hands across his chest. Phobos tugged Will, tightly holding her body against his. Lying down, Phobos hair became trapped underneath Will’s back, tying them together.

Both of them wanted, needed this. Morally, it was wrong, you shouldn’t love your enemy, and you shouldn’t sleep with a man who was planning to murder his own sister. A simple answer to those statements, they didn’t give a fuck. Why should other people be allowed to dictate their lives? They had already tried that, and it had got them nowhere. So now they took fate into their own hands and shape their own lives. With each other, they felt safe. The warmth from there other person’s body comforting them, becoming like a shield from the outside world.

Long after Phobos had fallen asleep, Will was staring at the ceiling, enjoying the feeling of Phobos’ arms around her. For a few minutes, she wondered what her astral drop was doing on Earth. By now, the clone was becoming more and more like Will, for, as the days went by, Will found more and more use for her. She glanced around the room. Even though it was dark, she knew where everything was. A few meters from her, there was a beautifully carved table, the legs had vines of ivory creeping up them. Sitting on this desk, glowing faintly in the darkness, was the Heart of Kandracar. It was strange, on Earth, the Heart was jittering, flashing and making noise for the slightest thing. But, in Meridian, it stayed calm, and was completely content to lie discarded will purring happily. She could only conclude that the Heart followed her emotions and wants, not Kandracar’s orders. Because she had no illusions that the people on Kandracar wouldn’t be happy about her relationship. But, to be completely honest, didn’t care. She’d never even met them, yet they had completely turned her life all upside down. Beside her, Phobos stirred, and moved closer to her. Banishing all thoughts from her mind, she turned around and buried her face in her lover’s chest. Taking a deep breath, she surrender to sleep.

When Phobos woke the next morning, there was an empty space beside him. At first, he thought Will had left, it wouldn’t have been the first time. But then he noticed the Heart still lying on the desk and saw that doors to the balcony where slightly ajar. Getting up, he pulled on a light robe, grabbed the Heart, which started making joyful noises. Concluding that the Heart was obviously insane, he walked outside.

Will was leaning on the wall and gazing at the clouds. The sun shone, reflecting off the white gown Will had slipped on, a gentle breeze ruffling her hair. Slipping behind her, Phobos dropped the Heart over her head. Will turned, "Look who's awake," she smiled.

"If I recall, you kept me up last night," he said wrapping his arms around her.

"Don’t blame me for your inability to get up early," Will replied with a laugh. Phobos ran his lips over her neck, moving to her cheek, then to her lips. Willingly, Will deepened the kiss, turning around and wrapping her arms around his neck. Subconsciously, Will’s hand moved across the top of his robe, tugging it down and exposing his shoulder. Phobos’ hand moved to the small of her back, pushing her towards him. "Everyone will be wondering where you are," Will muttered when their lips parted. By ‘everyone’ she meant Elyon. She wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about doing things behind her former friend’s back, but how can you tell someone who hates you that you are seeing her brother? Catching her meaning, Phobos said, "Elyon will be too busy with Cedric," he assured her.

"Cedric actually has some hormones in him?" Will laughed.

"Who’d have thought?"

"In my opinion, you have too many hormones," Will commented.

"This isn’t hormones," Phobos told her, "I love you."

"I know," Will smiled, "It’s just nice to hear you say it." And mean it, she thought. Once again, managing to read her mind, Phobos embraced her, kissing the top of her head. "I love you too," she replied. She meant it. Yes, he was evil, but, it wasn’t her place to change him. Who was she to tell him what to do with his own life? Trust, that’s what was needed, and she did. She trusted that he’d do whatever he thought would make her happy. Really, could she ask for more?

"You’ll have to go back soon," Phobos reminded her. His surveyed her face. Her chocolate brown eyes gazed up at him, her red lips formed a perfect smile. His heart, his mind, his body longed for her to stay. To be honest, he couldn’t be bothered engaging in any lies or evil today, he wanted to relax. "Don’t screw your face up like that," Will scolded, "If the wind changes it’ll stay that way."

"God forbid," Phobos muttered. Sensing his mood Will moved her hands to the back of his neck. And gently massaged the aches. Phobos shut his eyes. There was something perfect about the moment. His arms around someone he loved, who actually cared about him enough to try and get rid of some of his stress, while the smell of flowers filled the air. As he opened his eyes, Will stopped, "Better?"

"Much," he answered, smiling down at her. From it’s place around Will’s neck, the Heart let out an annoyed cry, as if to say, get a room! Will grinned, "My astral drop will probably have gotten me grounded by now," She said regretfully, "though, she’s a clone of me, so, I’d probably have gotten me grounded by now."

"She’s not like you," Phobos said firmly.

"Well, she’s like me enough to fool my own mother," Will reminded him. "And, if that’s the case," she smiled, "I don’t see why I shouldn’t stay here for awhile longer." Phobos eyes lit up,

"Stay as long as you want, this is your home too," he told her.

"I know."

Fin.

What do you think? Personally, I like the way this turned out.

Bakura: It’s ssssoooo mushy! How could you betray me!

Me: You are only saying that because you are jealous of Phobos

Bakura: I hate you.

Me: .line.

P.S RnR!
