I am soooooooooo sorry if I don’t have a reply to your comment… This is because I really honestly don’t recall who were the last people to comment, so I am extremely sorry if I missed out on replying to you. Because there is no way I am going back six months of emails just to find the most recent reviews…. SORRY!!

So, what has been going on with me since several months ago when I mysteriously disappeared because of a massive writer’s block that caused me to be unable to write anything and made me mess up on the last 2 English essays? Nothing I tell you, absolutely nothing… ‘cept it was my B-day on June 23rd… :)

So… on with the story….

Also, I’m far too lazy right now to put quotes… I am sorry…..

Oh yes, this chapter was written while I still had a writer’s block for this story… coming up with a new chapter included standing outside a bathroom thinking, lying in bed thinking and sitting at the computer brain dead and drowning my brain with music…. so please kindly understand if this chapter sucks…. thank you.

And remember I said that Josh is completely different? Well he really is. In my story, he’s more heroic and humble, and he’s really close friends with Jane and some other person I will not mention. :)

Chapter 4

“When can we leave?” Richard was the first to sum up the courage to ask.

“You’re going to be staying with us for awhile, until we can figure out who’s after you and how we’re going to stop them.” Josh replied, not looking up from his computer.

“Why are you treating us like children!?” Richard snapped back in reply, voicing the opinion of his comrades at long last.

“Because you are children.”

“In all aspects, we are adults.”

“You are younger and more reckless than us. So you are children as long as I say so, deal with it.”

Richard clenched his fists and ground his teeth together in frustration. He stormed out of the room, making sure that the door slammed loudly behind him.

“Real mature.” Muttered Josh.

“So... what are we going to do?” Victor asked, naturally turning to Richard out of habit.

“We’re going to find some way to prove that we’re mature.” He replied pointedly.

“Smart, bird brain. Now tell me. Why in the world do we have to take order from these guys in the first place? What’s keeping us from leaving?”

Richard hesitated before making his reply. “My pride can’t take it.”

“So what do you have in mind?”

“Well it’s obvious who’s behind this.”

“I’m guessing your thinking Slade.”

“Right on.”

“So what are we to do with this information?” Kori inquired.

“Nothing. We’ll wait until they get in over their heads with Slade. My bet is that they’ll be begging for us to help them out.”

“Something tells me that this is going to blow up in our faces eventually,” Raven droned.

Later

--

“Look Star, err... Kori, I really am sorry!”

“How am I to be sure that you really mean it? It’s not as if people change in an instant.”

“But it’s been seven years!”

“Hardly enough time away from you.”

“But I-”

“Changed? Well then prove it.”

“Look, I can’t prove it, but you’ve got to believe me!”

“Tell me why I should do that?”

Without waiting for a reply, Kori stormed away while Richard hung his head sadly.

“He tried apologizing.”

“He did didn’t he?” Raven and Kori were playing cards in the room Raven was staying in. “What did you do?”

“I didn’t accept it.”

“Why not? I thought you said you’d forgive him if he admits that he was wrong and apologize.”

“I’m not sure I’m ready to. It’s just that, I really can’t ignore the fact that it’s all his fault.”

“But you can’t ignore the fact that that is his personality and that it’s hard to change how you are.”

“But that’s exactly it! If it’s that hard to change, then will I have to continue to deal with him the way he is?”

“I never did say that it was impossible to change.”

“...”

“How about this. If I win this round, you’ll give him a chance, if I lose, then you can read one of my stories like you wanted.”

“Fine.”

“Richard?”

“Kori? Look, I’m sorry I tried to push you to accept my apology, but I really did mean it!”

“No, I’m the one who has to apologize to you actually.” Kori looked sheepishly down at her feet. “I was too busy getting upset that you were the one who broke up out friendship, that I forgot that you’re one of my dearest friends.”

Richard looked shocked for a second, “Then, do you forgive me?”

“I- well, I’m going to give you a chance.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that if you can prove that you really have changed, then I will truly forgive you.”

“I promise, I’ll prove it to you, I won’t ruin this chance.”

“You had better not, it’s your only one.”

“I promise Kori, I promise.”

Josh had called everyone into the common room for some sort of conference.

“Well, I’m here with good news.”

“What, you’re going to let us out of our baby pen?” Richard grumbled, his arms crossed defiantly.

“Actually, yes.”

Suddenly he had everyone’s attention.

“We’ve caught this so called ‘Slade’. He’s admitted to everything.”

Richard stood knocking over his chair, Gar fell off of his, and even Raven dropped her book.

“WHAT!?”

“I expected the lot of you to be happier at this news.”

“Happy? Do you have any idea how long we have been chasing this man?”

“Which therefore reinforces my proof that you are inadequate heroes.”

“Take us to him.” Raven said forcefully, surprising everyone.

“If you wish.”

The man was confined in a single cell with a 1 way mirror window. He had bright red hair, and striking blue eyes, and was surprisingly young looking.

“That’s it?” Richard exclaimed, “This is the cell you lock him up in!? He’s a mad man, you would need much heavier security for the likes of him.”

“Of course, in your opinion, he does.”

Richard scowled and stared at the man through the pain of glass.

“I’ll leave you children in peace while you guys stare at wonder at the man that was bothering for so long.”

Josh left through the sliding door exit of the room.

Were they really such incompetent heroes? Where they really reckless and childish?

Richard couldn’t help thinking, was he really that bad of a leader?

He was about to ask the rest of his former team when he caught sight of Raven. She looked nervous, she was chewing her bottom lip in what seemed to be apprehension.

“What’s wrong?”

Raven glanced back at the man before looking back to Richard and answering.

The words that left her mouth seemed to chill the room.

“That’s not Slade.”

It’s really lame, and I’m really really sorry. This just isn’t going in the right direction for me, and I’m having trouble writing this nicely... Please forgive me. And please forgive my absence.
