The Woo Lily Plan

---------------
Epilogue
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remus found Lily alone in the library doing her homework some days later.

"Ah, Ms. Evans?"

Lily looked up, "Hello."

"I hope you've forgiven us for the… the dove incident."

Lily nodded, "No harm done. At least not on your part." She offered the seat across from her and smiled. Remus took it and began to pull out his own homework.

"No groupies today?" Lily asked.

"No." Remus shook his head and smiled slightly, "They're in detention. It's the only time I can ever get any homework done."

"You wrote that note, didn't you?" Lily asked suddenly.

"What? Well I…" Remus flushed and fell silent.

"You used words I don't think James' even knows."

Remus sighed, "It was his sentiment, I assure you. I just re-worded it."

"I thought it might have been something like that." She smiled thoughtfully.

"I know James can be a bit… obnoxious at times, but he is actually a good person. And he really does care for you."

"I guess I should be thankful that Sirius isn't the one that's after me."

Remus laughed quietly.

"What do you think about it? The situation with James I mean. Am I being too harsh on him?"

Remus was surprised by the question, "Well I… It's hard to… I don't really know how…"

"As James' friend. What do you think?"

"As James' friend?" Remus thought, "I think that you should give him a chance."

"You sound like you would have a different opinion if you weren't his friend."

Remus smiled, "If I wasn't his friend I might not know that he is a better person than he lets onto."

Lily nodded and gave a simple, "Oh." That ended the conversation, with the only exception of various question on the homework. Remus found this odd, but then, most girls were.

Sunday came and Remus was awoken to the sound of Peter clapping.

"Shut up." Remus muttered and put his head under his pillow.

Peter ignored him, "She said yes? I can't believe it! Especially after last week."

"I knew she couldn't say no forever!" James, as ecstatic as the after-math of a winning Quidditch game, turned to Remus, "Wake up, Moony! This calls for celebration!"

"How about you try and get Pads up? When he gets up, I'll get up."

"But last time I tried to wake him up he nearly took my arm off!" Peter said in terror. One did not simply 'wake up' Sirius.

"Then let me sleep." Remus proceeded to tighten the pillow around his head.

"But. She. Said. YES!" James shouted.

A pillow went hurdling in James' direction from Sirius' bed.

"Ha! He's already awake!" James picked up the pillow and threw it back at Sirius.

"So you have to wake up, now, Moony." Peter said smugly.

Remus sat up, his eyes squinting in sleep and his hair strewn wildly about, making him look a bit like James.

"You didn't just throw a pillow at a sleeping man, did you?" Sirius said threateningly from his bed, though his arms that covered his face muffled his voice.

"No. I threw them at someone who should be celebrating with me!"

"That's great, Prongs. Go back to sleep."

"I can't! Besides, it's…" James looked over at the clock, "eight o' clock."

"So Early!" Sirius shouted and pulled the sheets over his face.

"Oh come on, Sirius! Best mate! Buddy! Pal!" James pleaded, "Get up! We need to celebrate before I actually go!"

Sirius remained silent for a moment before saying, "No."

"You leave me no choice Mr. Black."

"James, do you have a death wish?" Remus asked cautiously.

"He's a beast in the mornings! You know that!" Peter said in awe of what James was about to attempt.

"You wouldn't dare." Sirius seethed from under his sheets.

James lunged at Sirius then and began to tickle him. Sirius' had always been extremely ticklish, and it was not something he enjoyed being exploited.

"POTTER!" Sirius yelled, in a voice somewhere between fury and maddened laughter.

"He's going to die."

"Poor guy never even got to go on the date."

Sirius kicked James off of his bed before falling, tangled up in his sheets, off his bed as well.

"Where's my wand!?" Sirius shouted, struggling to get out of his sheets and find his wand at the same time.

James rubbed his stomach where he had been kicked and laughed, "You wouldn't kill me. At least not now. Not before my first date with the love of my life."

"That life isn't going to last very much longer." A disheveled Sirius growled as James bounded into the washroom.

"Fine! Don't celebrate! I'll just get ready!" James slammed the door.

"For the next six hours?" Peter asked Remus, "I thought his date was at two or something."

Remus shrugged and yawned, "I don't know. But if James plans on taking as long as Sirius' does in there he may well be in there until two."

Sirius glared at the other boys, "I like being clean. Is that a problem?"

The other two boys' responses were cut off by loud, off-tune, singing that erupted from the washroom.

Remus fell back into his bed, "Do you think we can go back to sleep now?" He covered his head with his pillow again.

"If you can sleep through that, Moony, I'll give you all the chocolate I have." Sirius' smirked.

For that prize, Remus would have certainly tried anything. Within moments, the boy was back asleep.

"Amazing." Peter remarked.

There was a knock at the dorm door, which Sirius promptly answered.

"Oh. Hi Sirius." Lily stood there, fully dressed and ready for the day, "Is James awake yet? I wanted to ask him if he was willing to change the time so we could beat the crowds and…" Her eyes ventured down to Sirius' boxers and she shielded her eyes, "Oh Lord! The least you could have done was warned me. Or put some pants on before you answered! Or something!"

Sirius looked down at his pants-less legs and shrugged, "Well, I would've, but you just kept talking. Oi, Potter!" Sirius turned and called to James through the washroom door, "Your girlfriend's here!"

Lily was about to instinctively remark that she was not his girlfriend, before she remembered she'd already said yes to going.

"Lily!" James stuck his head out the door; hair looking somewhat tamer than what was usual for him.

"Please, Please, tell me he's wearing pants."

Sirius' shrugged, "Can't tell. It's just his head. But you might not want to open your eyes yet, I'm still not."

James looked at his friend, "You're just standing there pants-less in front of my girlfriend!? I thought you were my friend!" James bounded out of washroom, thankfully wearing pants, and shoved Sirius' onto his bed.

"Hi Lily! You can open your eyes now." James said happily.

Lily peered through her fingers, "Thanks. So, I was just wondering if you wanted to go early. And beat the crowds, you know?"

James beamed, "Of course!" With that, a quick nodded goodbye to his friends, he left the dorm.

"He's brutal." Sirius sat up on his bed.

Peter nodded, "Well, now what?"

The two looked to sleeping Remus and Sirius grabbed his wand, "We could see what Sleeping Beauty here looks like with a mustache."

Peter gave his nodded approval.

When Remus awoke some fifteen minutes later, he was not amused.
