A/N: Hi guy's! Ok, this is just another one-shot that has been bugging me. We all know that in the episode 'Stealing Home', Lindsay got emotionally involved in the case. At in the end, Mac came to her and told her, that Danny said she did a great job. This is what I think Danny said to Mac. Hope you all enjoy :D
Danny walked along the deserted hallways of the crime lab. He and Lindsay had just wrapped up a case that hit a little to close to home for her, but she done great. He held the file in his hand and slowly approached Mac Taylor's office. He knocked and entered.
"Hey Danny." He said "What's up?"
"Lindsay and I have closed the case. Well Lindsay did." Replied Danny, taking a seat.
"I'm guessing, you're not here to tell me the case is closed. What's bothering you?"
"Nothing, its just-… this guy Mac. He had no reason to kill this girl, but he did it anyway. She was a country girl from Montana."
"Danny. Is this about the girl in the morgue, or is it about that girl in the lab over there?" he pointed to the lab behind Danny.
Danny turned round a saw Lindsay. She was sitting at the computer with a slight smile on his face. The biggest smile he had seen on her all day. He turned back to face Mac.
"What are you getting at here?" he asked
"Danny. You and Lindsay have a strange relationship."
"What do you mean 'Strange'?"
"I mean, that you are both too damn stubborn to admit that you like each other."
Danny gave a slight smile. He never knew that his boss could also give him advice, as a friend.
"So, Lindsay struggled in the case." Stated Mac "I'll talk to her and then, it's up to you what you do."
"Hey Danny." She said, while turning off her computer.
"Hey. How are you feelin' ?" he asked, taking a seat next to her.
"I've been better. I mean he killed Sara Butler for no reason."
"Some People are just sick Lindsay. They don't need a reason to kill. He saw her alone, a girl from the country, and thought it would be a fun probably. But he's been locked away, and if I have it my way, he'll never be out. Ok, i'll make sure of it."
Lindsay gave him a smile. He was so good to her. She got up and put her jacket on.
"Danny, can you do something for me please?"
"Anything." He said, standing up
"Could you take me over to the prison, to see James Vackner? I want to ask him why he did it. I know, he won't tell me, but theres no harm in trying."
"Sure."
She walked up to him and gave him a hug.
"Thank you Danny." She gave him a small kiss on the cheek "Thank you for being here for me."
