Christmastime
Temari and Shikamaru and Shikanu and Misago and Aiko and friends
“Shikamaru! Can you get Kanu and Misa breakfast? Aiko won’t stop fussing,” Temari explained.
It was Christmastime in Konoha and Shikamaru’s family was coming over for lunch. A lunch that Temari wa supposed to cook.
Temari looked at her 3 month old daughter in her arms and sighed. “Let’s go get breakfast, shall we?”
Shikamaru was at the stove stirring something that smelled delicious.
“Mommy!!” shouted Shikanu. He was so like Temari, even though he looked just like Shikamaru.
“What?” Temari asked, sitting down with Aiko.
“I wanna train!!!” he yelled.
“Shikanu, hush.” Said Shikamaru said, walking over to stand behind Temari. He watched as his youngest was suckling away. “My mom said she’d be over in an hour to help you cook,” he said to his wife.
“I don’t need help cooking. I cook for you, don’t I?” Temari asked, frustrated.
“Mama, I’m hungry ,” complained Misago, pulling on her robe. Misago was three years old with brown hair and teal eyes. She was exactly like her father was at that age, according to Yoshino.
“Shika-kun, can you feed them while I finish with Aiko. Gaara and Kankerou are coming over soon. Aiko loves her Uncle Gaara, so he’ll take her. That’ll leave me free to cook,” Temari explained as she stood up to burp Aiko.
KNOCK!!!
Temari walked over to the door and opened it. Ino grinned from the other side.
“Hey! I heard Yoshino-chan was coming over to help cook. Do you mind if Chouji and I come too?” Ino asked, holding her son Hiromasa’s hand. “And Hiro and Mieko can play with Misago and Shikanu,” Ino added.
Shikamaru grinned and lifted his god-son in the air. “Hey Ino. Chouji. Come in,” he said, pulling Temari away from the door.
Later , that evening, Temari was sitting at the table in the Nara household , surrounded by her children, husband, brothers, and friends.
It was a perfect Christmas, especially considering that before she’d met Shikamaru, she had not even known families celebrated like this.
