This story is very, very AU. I never agreed with what was revealed about the 6th dimension in the episode ‘Putting It Together’ in season two. I prefer to write as if the 6th dimension really does exist and isn’t just a game. The 6th dimension has been designed my way and would probably be nothing like anyone else’s interpretations and certainly nothing like the show’s creators had imagined. It is very much like our own world except that it’s a lot more high-tech. This story is set before series one, and is based on what all the characters lives are like in the 6th dimension. Not much is revealed about the character’s history in the show or in the books so I was able to get creative. I’ve made up a lot of new characters; a few new places and I’ve given certain characters back-stories, which I’ll proceed to explain to you.

Sparx’s real name is Vera Siren. She was a street orphan up until she was 11-years-old. She was prone to having odd bursts of electricity that would come shooting out of her hands and she also found that she got tired very easily. The Lightning Knights discovered Sparx’s hidden talents completely by accident, took her in and started training her.

Mercyn is Sparx’s brother who was older than her by three years. He looked after her on the streets and ensured that she was kept hidden from public view. He went with Sparx when the Lightning Knights took her in.

Lady Illusion’s real name is Lilen Oren. Along with her twin brother she was abandoned at an orphanage when she was a baby. When the children were four they learnt about their powers and the fact that they were elves. Lady Illusion had many powers while her brother only had a few. When the twins turned 18 they left the orphanage and travelled throughout the 6th dimension.

Crimen is Lady Illusion’s twin brother. He has the power to turn invisible and create shields. He and his sister are attached at the hip but have different beliefs.

Jo is the middle-aged head of the Lightning Knights.

Flame is Sparx’s best friend and a Lightning Knight. They’re in the academy together.

Before I can continue on with anymore new characters I need to explain some places that I’ve created or expanded.

Avon is the magical part of the 6th dimension. There are two further parts to this place: Balen is the ‘light’ side of Avon and is the home to creatures such as light vampires, elves, witches, wizards and dragons, as well as fairies, pixies, mermaids, unicorns, gnomes, spirits and the 6th dimension gods and goddesses.

Beron is the ‘dark’ side of Avon and houses dark vampires, elves, witches, wizards and dragons, as well as ogres, trolls, goblins, zombies, ghosts, undead skeletons and the giant three-headed dog Cyrus.

Laurel is a small village, which sits on the outskirts of the 6th dimension.

The Thunder Tower isn’t just Ace’s headquarters but the whole of the Lightning Knights Corps’. All of the Lightning Knights, live, train and learn there.

Now I can go on with the characters.

Lord Fear’s real name is Phen Luc and he grew up in Beron with an alcoholic father and an absent mother. He’s an undead skeleton and dreams to one day rule the world.

Zoar is the lord of the light vampires and the creator of the Amulet of Zoar. He also invented a special type of contact lens that allows vampires to walk about during the day. He was responsible for the peace between Avon and the rest of the 6th dimension. He often visits the Thunder Tower.

Zoara is Zoar’s eldest child at 14-years-old and plays a key part in his life. She goes with him to the Thunder Tower so that she can gain strong bonds with the Lightning Knights. In the process she’s befriended Ace, Sparx and Flame. She can be rather intimidating and serious but still finds time to laugh.

Indigo is Zoar’s wife. She is rather cold, especially to Zoara, whom she is not particularly fond of. This is because Indigo wanted her first child to be a boy, not a girl.

Ranen, Geln and Skyla are Zoara’s younger brothers and sister. The four are extremely close. Ranen is 13, Geln is 11 and Skyla is 9.

Ivor is the head healer for the neutral/light vampires.
