She'd walked away, angry or frustrated, he wasn’t sure. His father had inhaled deeply and followed as though it were his place.
In Damage Control, he watched the President turn and move toward his father.
He stilled.
Realisation flared, followed by a burning resentment.
They were lovers.
The way she looked at his father screamed it, the way his father’s stance shielded her and offered her his strength shouted it.
How dare they?
Dark anger shafted though him.
He picked up her tea, smelled it, then looked at them again.
Two birds; he thought in bitter satisfaction, with one stone...
