Okay guy here’s the last chapter, hope you like it.
--
Tony was walking through Ziva’s room. It was the middle of the night.
He had spent several nights at the hospital with her. He had moved out of Jeanne’s house and was now living in a hotel room till he would find something else. Though he spent more time at the hospital than in the hotel.
He’d seen Jeanne one more time in the hospital, but she totally ignored him.
He walked towards the window and looked at the moon and the stars, there were no clouds and there was no wind, it was perfect.
He sat down on the chair next to Ziva and gave her a little kiss on her forehead.
“Good night, sleeping beauty.”
He leaned back and soon fell asleep himself.
--
The night was turning into morning when Tony woke up from a fast beeping sound.
He immediately looked at Ziva. Was something wrong?
He looked at her monitor, he didn’t know much about medical stuff, but it looked like her heart rate was still strong and stable, only faster.
What did that mean?
The sound of a soft moan interrupted his thoughts.
“Ziva?”
Than her eyes slowly fluttered open.
“God, Ziva, you’re awake.”
The first thing Ziva saw were Tony’s beautiful eyes. She heard his happy voice. She wanted to say something back, but found it impossible as a tube was stuck her throat.
Ziva started to make chocking sounds as she tried to talk.
“No Ziva, don’t talk, not yet, the doctor will get it out soon.” He gave her a reassuring smile.
Tony disappeared and soon came back with a doctor. The doctor saw Tony’s worried face.
“Don’t worry,” He said as he gently took the tube out of Ziva’s throat “This just means she’s breathing on her own, that’s good.”
After the tube was out, the doctor gave Ziva a glass of water and she carefully but thankfully drank it.
Than the doctor started to do all sorts of tests.
After a while the doctor turned to Tony again.
“Good news, I don’t think there is any brain damage, everything seems to be fine, we’ll do a CT later today to be sure, but I’m sure it’s all fine.”
The doctor gave Ziva a last smile and than disappeared.
“Ziva, I’m so happy you’re awake.”
“Me too.” Ziva answered not really recognizing her own voice, but she didn’t care, she was getting better and Tony was with her, what did she want more?
Tony couldn’t hold it anymore and gave Ziva a hug.
She thankfully received hug, but than tensed a little.
“Careful Tony.”
“Ow, Ziva, I’m sorry. Does it hurt?” Tony asked concerned.
“A little.” Ziva admitted.
“Shall I get the doctor back? He can give you some more morphine.”
“No, I’m fine.”
Tony sighed, typically Ziva, trying to hide the pain.
“So Ziva, now you have to tell me…”
“What?”
“Don’t laugh at me okay,”
“I’ll decide that later.” She gave him a little smile
A little smile appeared on Tony’s mouth too.
“Well, I don’t know if you know that, but that guy who did this to you, had come back and tried to kill you, again. And ehm…”
“I know, I don’t exactly know how this works, but I know everything what happened inside this room, it’s weird, but it’s true. I know you saved my life Tony” she blushed a little “Twice, thank you so much for that Tony.”
Now it was Tony’s turn to blush.
“But Ziva, I wouldn’t be able to be here in time without your help.”
“What do you mean?”
“It was like you came to me and spoke to me in my dreams, you warned me.”
“What? Tony, that’s impossible. God, how desperate were you? You started hallucinating?”
Tony smiled, Ziva hadn’t changed a bit.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Tony admitted and left the subject alone.
Ziva was getting a bit tired of sitting up all the time and carefully lied back, but than she felt something weird behind her and pulled a huge teddy bear out of the pillows.
She gave Tony a questioning look.
“Abby.” Tony explained.
Ziva smiled. “Looks like I don’t remember everything what happened here.”
“This came from McGee.” He gave her a book
“He wrote another one?”
“Yeah, but this time it’s about two agents who already are together.”
Ziva laughed out loud “As soon I get out of here I’ll kill him. Remind me of that.”
“I will,” Tony said “This came from Gibbs.” He pulled out a brand new gun from under the bed. “He had to sneak it in here, and don’t let the hospital personnel see it or they’ll throw you out of the hospital right to the police.” He gave her a smile. “Ow yeah and these came from Jenny and Ducky” he held out a box full of chocolate.
Ziva smiled, her colleagues cared about her, no question about that.
“And who brought these?” she asked as she saw beautiful red roses.
Tony blushed again.
“You did?”
“Yeah.”
“I like them Tony.”
Tony carefully sat down on the bed and held Ziva gently in his arms. First Ziva wanted to push him away and say that he shouldn’t act so ridiculous, but she realized that this was she always dreamt of since she knew Tony and she relaxed in his arms.
“Tony, how can I ever thank you for what you did for me?”
“Well, I got an idea… I broke up with that girlfriend of mine and I’m a little homeless right now. It would be great if I could stay with you till I find something else.”
“Okay, than that’s a deal.”
The sun was slowly coming up. Tony looked at the window.
“Wait a sec.” He said as he rushed out of the room and came back with a wheelchair.
He gently lifted her from the bed and placed her in the wheelchair.
“Tony, what are you doing?” she asked.
“Ssst. Don’t say anything, Ziva, close your eyes.” She gave him a confused look but than did what he said.
Tony wheeled her towards the window and opened it.
“You can open your eyes now.”
Ziva opened them and looked out of the window.
The sun was coming up like a huge golden ball, colouring the clouds around it red, pink and orange. Ziva looked at it, speechless, it was so beautiful. She enjoyed the soft breeze in her face and breathed in the fresh air, it smelled like flowers. She heard the birds singing.
“It’s beautiful, Tony.” She finally whispered as she let the wind play with her dark curls.
Tony putted a hand on her shoulder.
“You did it for me, huh?” Ziva said.
“What?” Tony asked confused.
“Breaking up with that girl.”
“Yeah, I did it for you.”
Ziva fought to hold her tears inside. “Tony, if you want, you don’t have to look for another house, I got plenty of room for two people.”
Tony smiled “Thank you Ziva, that’s great.”
They stayed silent for a while enjoying the sight.
“Tony?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Ziva, I love you too.”
And there they sat together, in perfect silence watching the sunrise.
