The loss of his parents had taken a toll on his soul. This loss of his friend was not an easy burden either. But he still kept on. Becoming jonin and the most notorious ninja in his village. He was famous everywhere and only at the age of 14. Wow talk about awesome right?
As he jumped off of one particular building, he heard something he hadn’t heard in awhile. He heard a child crying. He stopped to look. He entered what seemed like a battered apartment with absolutely almost no light at all. Except for an open window but that hardly provided any light to the room at all. Kakashi strained to see.
The apartment was I bits as Kakashi looked around it. There in one corner was a bed that looked oddly old, and a door leading perhaps to another room in the small apartment, a few feet away from the front door. He was going to look through the apartment to see where the crying was coming from, but he heard it all too soon.
In the corner opposite of the bed and the least lighted corner in the room was where the crying and sobbing was coming from. There was a little boy, with brown hair, and …Kakashi couldn’t tell the eye color for the boy was crying. He was sobbing, and he was wearing white jumpsuit with fishnet cloth underneath. He looked to be around eleven or ten, three or four younger than Kakashi. He would’ve looked beautiful if he wasn’t crying.
Kakashi went to the little boy to see what the matter was. When he approached, the child turned around and gasped.
“WH-who ar-are-are you?” he asked trying not to stutter but failing miserably.
Kakashi smiled warmly at the child, and the sound of his voice. It was childly cute. And somewhat saddening from the crying.
“I’m Hatake, Hatake Kakashi, now why are you crying little boy?” Kakashi asked kindly. He kneeled down to be eye to eye with the child. In which said child flinched alittle.
“It’s alright, I won’t hurt you,” Kakashi said extending his arm out to wipe away the child’s tears, in which the child willingly let happen “Now can you tell me what is wrong?”
The child stared at Kakashi a little more, then wiped the remaining tears away, and sniffled. He looked down and tried not to cry anymore.
“I-I lost my puh-p-uh-parents. Th-they-y died in the nin-nine tails incident. A-and I fah-feel so lonely!” He stuttered out. After his duel with his own words, he began to cry again and clung to Kakashi as if he were the very earth.
Kakashi, feeling unusually kind and somewhat loved, wrapped his arms around the child comfortingly. He held his close and rubbed his back as the child continued crying from the loneliness. After the small one was about done crying, Kakashi pulled away and made the child look at him.
“Do you want to know something?” Kakashi asked being kind.
The child nodded in curiosity, with his face still wet from the tears, and looking up at Kakashi.
“I lost my parents to when I was little. I didn’t cry because I never understood how they could leave me. I was too prideful to cry. Now I regret it. And I was lonely for a long time. But then I discovered that I could become great, so that way I could make my parents proud of their son. Don’t you think your parents want to be proud of you?” Kakashi asked sounding grown up.
“Of course! I want to make them proud of me!” the child exclaimed excitingly. He sounded so reassured and so much happier than if he was crying.
Kakashi chuckled. “That’s a lot better, but you know what else cures the loneliness?” Kakashi said picking up the child a little off the ground to take a look at him better and to hopefully get some answers.
“What’s that?” the small one responded and turned his head to the side alittle.
Kakashi smiled warmly first before saying: “I’ll tell you if you tell me your name.”
The child smiled bigly causing his eyes to become little slits. “My name is Iruka Hatake-san!”
“Well Iruka have you ever had ramen?”
“No! What’s that Hatake-san?!” Iruka asked with just as much curiosity as before.
“It’s the best thing in the world.”
Suddenly he was broken from his thoughts as their food came. Iruka looked at the bowl curiously and watched Kakashi to see what he was going to do. Kakashi broke his chopsticks given and began to eat the ramen.
He saw that Iruka was only looking at him then at the bowl and then back to Kakashi.
“You don’t like it?” Kakashi said with some noodles sticking out of his mouth. (He had somehow found a way to eat and not remove his mask while being seen.)
Iruka only giggled and got a napkin. He reached his hand over the table and wiped away the noodles that Kakashi had on his face. “Hehe, you’re a messy eater, Hatake-san!” Iruka said cutely. Kakashi blushed underneath his mask at Iruka’s words and actions.
“Uh why don’t you go ahead and eat Iruka-kun?” Kakashi said boldly.
Iruka blushed and giggled at the nick name that was now just given to him. He stopped cleaning Kakashi’s face and turned to face the meal that was in front of him. He broke his chopsticks just as Kakashi had done and began to pick up the slimy noodles.
Kakashi continued eating his bowl. After he was done he noticed that Iruka seemed to love the food put in front of him. He was a little scared at his pace of eating, but Iruka seemed to really love the food. Iruka no longer looked as if the loneliness had hurt him. Kakashi was happy that Iruka was no longer lonely.
Iruka thanked Kakashi generously for the food as they walked back to Iruka’s apartment. Iruka was so energetic and happy after his food. He wouldn’t stop talking and thanking Kakashi for the wondrous food. He truly looked happy.
It was while they were walking that Kakashi realized that he had feelings for the young boy. He loved Iruka. After only being with him for an hour he realized that he loved him and that he would always protect him.
It was also discovered while they were walking, that Iruka discovered he loved ramen. He loved the taste and the smell. He was glad he cried today. He also discovered that he liked this Hatake person. He was really nice. Maybe they could be friends.
Yet it was again discovered that Iruka had yet to have his first kiss. Kakashi quickly fixed that when he dropped Iruka off at his apartment.
