RedKatana: Here's the 1st chapter of Dark Side of the Harvest. Enjoy.

P.S. I had to make up a name for the town so I named it Harvest town.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harvest Moon(Duh! If I did, why would this story be called Fanfiction?)

I'll never forget her.

I'll never forget how her hair would shine in the moonlight, and how her eyes were a bottemless ocean.

I'll never forget her smile.

I don't think I'll ever forget her.

I guess I should tell you what I'm talking about...

It all began at Diamond City. My father was screaming at me to move out of the house...

In the other room my mother was siting on the bed...

...she was crying. My father had just beaten her. He was drunk, not that it makes much of a difference.

My mother had been just trying to tell him that I couldn't handle myself out there, so he punched her.

I had enough of this. For eighteen year... For eighteen freaking years I had put up with this shit. Eighteen long years in this hellhole.

So I left.

I went to the Farm my father used to own in Harvest Town.

January 1st 1985. That was the year I moved into Harvest town...

It was an ordinary day. I asked one of the town's people to give me ride there so I could get ready for my new life.

I got into his truck. He put on the radio. Satan's Little Whore was playing. They were a popular 80's band. The band was: Edward Gibbs, who as everyone knew,
was a homosexual atheist, Anne Blackthorn, who was, as I would say was, Satan's little whore, at least that's what the song 'Love me, you little bitch'
said. Then there was Mark Blackthorn, who was Anne Blackthorn's sister, it's rumored that he's a homosexual, but then again that's a rumor. Then there's Jen Halfway, she's released her 1st book I think... I forgot what it's called... It was a book about witchcraft I think... The song that was playing was: Why there is no damn god. Throughout the whole song they curse out different gods from different religions. They cursed out almost every god I could think of.

The guy lit his cigerette. He blew a big ball of smoke in my face. I coughed. He smiled.

"So... Finaly moved out, huh?" How he said that was weird. I already hated this guy.

I coughed. "Yes." I managed to wheez out that answer. What the hell was wrong with this guy? Why didn't he roll down the windows?

He smiled. I didn't like his smile. It creeped me out. "I'm sure you're going to love it here... Everyone is so..." He paused. "Nice." He said that like he had a
problem with the word nice... "Anyway, i'm sure you'll love it." He grabed another cigerette and lit it. In all my life I have never smelled a worse smell than this guy's car. It reeked of cigerettes, alcohol, and something else... Something else that smelled farmilliar... It was in the back of my mind...

"This is my favorite part." He said. I started paying attention to the band again. The lyrics went like this:

"We don't need no gods,

We don't need nobody telling us what to do bitchs!

We don't need no real jobs,

So why don't we just throw you in the ditchs?

Like I'll say it like before again,

We don't need to be reborn again!"

The song ended. Next was a song Lyndis brown, a country singer. "We're here," He said. About time, I thought. I can't take anymore of this smell. I hurried up and got out the car. He got out too. He was lighting another cigerette. He blew another at me. I got into a coughing fit.
He smiled. "If you ever need me, I'll always be there." That was a creepy thought. "Go and talk to the villiagers, get used to the town. I'll be waiting here."

I left him. I was glad that was over. I noticed a Petaler woman in front of me. She had soild white hair, and a little bit of a tan.

"Hello..." She said. "Are you Jack?" I nodded. I figured she heard that someone named Jack was finaly taking over the farm. "It's about time someone took over the farm... How old are you, son?"

"18."

"My, and you're taking over the farm at that early age!" She smiled. "Do you wanna hear some advice?"

"Yes, mam."

"First off, don't stay up too late, 10:00 PM is a good time to go to bed... Second off, always eat a nice breakfast, Third, never put your vegebles the day before the shipment comes... Forth, you should sell me any food you find on the mountain while your crops are growing."

"Thanks, mam." I lefted. I went into the over to the Flower Shop. Near the flower shop I saw a girl with pink and pink eyes. She was sniffing the flowers near the Flower Shop.
I went into the Flower Shop. There I saw a woman with pink hair just like the girl outside. 'She must be her mother', I thought. The woman looked around the age 40.
She noticed me.

"Welcome!" she said. "You're the new farmer, arn't you?"

I nodded.

"Then take this." She gave me a new watering can. I was surprised. "You'll need it. The seeds are over there if you want to buy any."

I bought 4 Turnip bags and one grass bag.

I exited the shop.

That pink haired girl was heading towards me.

"Hi!" she said. Her voice was extreamly perky. "What's your name?" I opened my mouth to talk, but she wouldn't let me. "My name's Nina! Are you that farmer that just moved in?" I opened my mouth to speak, but she still wouldn't let me. "Great! I've been wanting to meet you! Do you like flowers?" Again I tried to talk, but she wouldn't let me. "I LOVE flowers!" This girl was annoying the crap out of me.

"Goodbye." I said. 'Good ridance.' I thought.

I was walking away, when I saw a blue haired girl sweeping the pavement. She was singing. I listened. It was an old song from an old 60's movie.

She noticed me. She smiled. "Oh. Hello."

"Hi." I said.

"I'm sorry, but church is canceled." She contenued to sweep.

I looked at the side of me. There stood a white church with a blue roof. Beside that was a graveyard.

"Are you that farmer?" she asked.

"Yes."

She smiled. "Jack right?"

"Yeah."

"My name's Maria. Nice to meet you." She went back to sweeping.

I left her.

I noticed the Mayor getting his mail. He waved at me.

"Ah, it's good to see you again my boy." he said. He was good friends with my father. But they hadn't seen each other for a years. "How's your father?" he asked.

I frowned, and said nothing to him. He never did know how much I hated my father... I left him.

I went into the town square. I saw a drunk man siting on a bench drinking beer. He gave me a strange look.

"What are you (Hic) looking at!?" he asked. I felt very uncomfable around him. I left him. I saw a bar to the right of me. A blond haired girl wearing a pink top and pink pants put a Closed sign on the door. She noticed me.

"Hi." she said. "You must be Jack, right? I'm Eve. Nice to meet you."

I smiled. "Nice to meet you too." I left her.

Later I saw a Bakery. I could smell fresh bread coming from the open window. I smiled. Fresh bread was always one of my favorite smells. I walked into the Bakery.

I saw a fat woman with brown hair behind the counter talking to a teenaged girl with short brown hair(Might be her daughter). I went up to the counter.

"Welcome." said the fat woman. "What can I get for you?"

"I'd like that cake over there" I said, pointing to a big chocolate cake.

She smiled, and gave me the cake. "Have a nice day."

"You're the new farmer, right?" said the teenage girl. Now that I was really close to her face, I noticed how lovely she was. She had some of the most pretty eyes I've ever seen.

"Yes."

"I'm Ellen. Nice to meet you." she said. I left, I went into the other shop. They sold Cows, Chickens and feed there.

"Hi," the man at the counter said. "what can I do for you?"

"Excuse me, but I would like some tips on raising animals." I said.

"Look on the counter. There's all you need to know." He was pointing to a notebook on the table. I read it, and left. I was about to go back to the truck when I noticed a place I hadn't checked out yet. I went in. There was a fortune teller there, she told me some quite useful girl tips. I left there also and met back with Mr. Ceepy. I got in his truck. He put on the Radio. The band Royle Flush was playing. He lit another cigerette. I was about to puke from the smell of the truck. 'How many cigerettes does this guy smoke a day?' I thought. I tried to think of something else besides the cigerettes. My mind went back to the band Royle Flush. I reconized the song they were singing, it was the song 'The Red Queen'. All their songs in their 1st album is named after card games, really. Like: The King of Hearts or: The Queen of Hearts or: Ace. And then their first albun was named 'Royle Flush.'

"I have a question," he said. "what's your favorite band?"

"Black Heart." I said. Black Heart was a 70's band, they had recently broken up.

"Ah," he smiled. "good old Black Heart." He lit another cigerette. "We're here." 'Thank goodness!' I thought. I got out the truck. "See you later!" he said, and he drove away. I
I went into my house and went to sleep.

To be contenued...
