Stars That Fade
Harry Potter does not belong to me, it belongs to J.K Rowling. Also, I just wrote this while listening to "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" by Oasis. I've included song lyrics in the ficlet so ;D you may pick them up if you've heard the song. This ficlet is a bit confusing and you'll see why at the very end.
“Don’t be scared,” Draco whispered.
Grey eyes lined with exhaustion, with pity, with love, with sadness, gazed at Harry. A painful smile spread across Draco’s lips. They pressed their lips together in a sweet kiss full of bitter remorse.
“Just try not to worry,” Draco muttered into Harry’s mouth. “We’ll be together. Forever as I’ve promised.”
Harry nodded shakily, tears spilling over onto his cheeks. He shook violently as sobs wracked his body.
“Why’re you scared?” Draco asked, softly. He clutched Harry’s hands and pulled them to his heart.
“I’m not scared,” Harry replied. He curled further into Draco.
“You’ll never change,” Draco chuckled weakly.
“It’s ‘cause all of the stars are fading away.” Harry smiled faintly, sighing as Draco released his hands in order to draw him into a tender embrace.
“You’ll see them some day,” Draco reassured. “Stop crying your heart out, your destiny will keep you warm.”
“We’re fading away,” Harry said feebly in argument, his hands dropping from Draco’s arms.
Draco breathed deeply, tears coming to his own eyes. “We’ll be together again. I promise you this.”
“Don’t leave me, Draco,” Harry pleaded. “I don’t want to be alone.”
“Take what you need and be on your way,” Draco replied. “Take my love and keep me close to your heart. I won’t ever leave you. Our bodies are not all that’s keeping us alive.”
Harry gasped and struggled to breathe. He smiled and choked on a laugh even as his body fell limp. “Stop crying your heart out.”
