The team is almost done with the report of their last case. In the moment they’ve finished, they start to leave. Everyone is gone and Sara is about to punch out her card, when she notices that Grissom hasn’t leave yet.

Sara enters Grissom’s office looking for a goodnight kiss.

“You are still here?” Sara asks in a tender tone, Grissom turns his sight up at her. She walks toward him. She looks into his eyes and notices that he is too thoughtful. She sits on his lap and kisses him.

“So you are not leaving yet?” Sara asks him.

“I was just waiting for you” he answers while closing his book.

“I was thinking…” he starts to say while playing with her brown hair “Tomorrow is our day off, so I was wondering maybe we could…”

“…Your place or mine?” Sara cuts him off with this big grin.

“Well I was thinking of making you breakfast, and your fridge is empty. So, it would have to be at my place, if that’s okay with you?”

“I never say no to your breakfasts” Sara kisses him again then stands up,

“After you,” Grissom gets up. They leave his office, he turns the lights off.

They are in Grissom’s apartment. Sara wakes up, and is greeted by a good morning from her man; they stay in bed talking a little while.

After a few minutes Grissom asks her if she is hungry, she is, so he gets up to make her breakfast as he promised the night before, Sara is about to get up, but Grissom doesn’t let her; he wants to bring her breakfast to bed.

“But I love to see you cook” she begs.

After a few begs Grissom gives up and let’s her get up.

Sara sits at the counter. She’s drinking some orange juice while Grissom makes some French toasts for breakfast. He walks toward the counter and shares his thoughts with her;

“You know what I‘ve been thinking?”

“What?” Sara answers curiously.

“Well, that it would be great if I could make you breakfast every morning, don’t you think?”

“Yeah, that will be nice, but… that would be a little complicated. …What would you tell to the guys after they see that you are bringing me breakfast every morning that we spent there?”

Seeing that Sara didn’t get his intentions he gets a little nervous, “Sara, I… wouldn’t… It wouldn’t… what I mean…”

Sara looks into his eyes, trying to read her man’s thoughts.

“What I wanted to ask you was…” Grissom continues, “If you wanted to moved in with me”

Sara is speechless, that idea has never crossed her mind before.

“So” Grissom asks, “Would you?”

“I… I…” Sara babbles with no words to say “Are you sure about this, I mean isn’t too soon? We’ve been dating only for 7 months…” is the excuse that Grissom hears from Sara’s mouth.

“Yeah, 7 months, which had been great! We are great, this is great. Living together, will be greater…” Grissom tells her while holding her hand.

“I thought we were going slow… and moving in together, that’s not slow”

You can see in Sara’s eyes that the idea fascinates her, but at the same time scares her to death, that is a big commitment, and after all, it took him so long to get to her, and in some ways she doesn’t want to rush things for his sake.

“Gil, I… you know that I… well, you are right we are great, but… I’m sorry…but…” Grissom’s smile starts to fade, she has turned him down. “Baby, don’t get like this, you have to understand… It’s too soon...”

Grissom looses her hand and then sighs: “Its okay, I get it… let’s have breakfast before it gets cold!”

Sara’s eyes can tell that she hates herself for turning him down, but deep inside she knows that she made the right decision.

A few weeks had passed and you can still feel the tension between the two of them, Grissom is hurt. And Sara knows that he hates her, it is obvious. After all, at the time to assign the cases, he’s been giving her another case; they haven’t work in the same case since that day.

The few times where the team shares lunch, are the worse, after all, there’s where the team notices that something is wrong.

Before this little discussion, Grissom was always looking forward to pleased his woman, he always found a way to invite her to lunch or brought her dessert, or little gestures; like filling her cup, or passing her the salt, things like that. But those moments had been gone for about 3 weeks now.

One night, Sara is about to enter her apartment, when she sees the neighbor walking down the aisle with some flowers in hand, he knocks at his door, her curiosity makes her stay outside for a while, witnessing this moment. The neighbor’s fiancé opens the door, he gives her the flowers, and they hug and kiss, then the couple gets inside. Sara smiles (a little) but that smile fades from one second to another.

She gets into her apartment, her empty apartment. And heads right to her fridge grabs some leftovers, heats them, and starts to eat. Well, actually she only heated them and sat at the table, her thoughts are distracting her.

Grissom is catching up on his reading when someone knocks at the door; he takes his glasses off, puts his book down, gets up and walks toward the door, he opens it only to find Sara there.

He looks down eyes a couple of bags on the floor, and turns his sight up,

Sara smiles, “I hope you have an empty drawer!”

He smiles back, and kisses her. After breaking the kiss he grabs the bags and lets her in.
