And that's called...
He was looking down the hill at them. From above, he saw them clearly, and they weren't difficult to tell from one another, if only by their hair color. Blond hair, black hair, and that soft, glowing pink hair.
He was pondering wether he would go down and join them. They seemed to be habing fun together. Naruto was apparently trying to talk Sasuke into training with him, and Sakura was trying to steal Come-Come Paradise from the fox-boy's pouch in order to blackmail him later, probably. She eventually gave up, as Naruto had created clones and made them toss the book to one another to prevent her from getting it.
He realized he had been staring at them for a while now, and still hadn't decided what to do. The sun was beginning to set, and his shade was stretching down the hill, towards the three ninjas. And he just stood there, waiting, and reflecting.
The sun was nearly set, and his shadow finally rached the group under him. It caught Sakura's eye, who looked up and smiled when she noticed him. He was about to start down the hill when he saw her gesture at her friends to say good bye and start to walk up to him. So, he waited for her.
When she arrived next to him, they stood side by side for a while, looking at Sasuke and Naruto who had finally began training, and waiting for each other to speak. Then, Sakura took a deep breath :
« Why didn't you join us, before ? We were having fun, but it would have been even better with you along, you know.
« I didn't want to disturb you. »
That took care of the tense atmosphere :Sakura bust into laughter :
« Idiot ! You are as much part of Team 7 as me or Naruto ! We are always happy to see you, you don't have to worry about disturbing anybody !
« Yeah, I know... But to be honest, I didn't really feel like speaking. »
Sakura flinched, and turned away :
« Sorry, then. I didn't mean to annoy you. » She started to go, but Sai quickly put his hand on her arm.
« Don't misunderstand me. I meant I didn't feel like speaking to the three of you together. That's usually a lot of trouble. But... Actually, I've been meaning to have a private talk with you for a while. »
Sakura flashed him a small smile and lifted an eyebrow at him :
« Yes ?
« Well, I thought maybe you could explain me... As you are the one concerned... »
He seemed to have trouble finding his words. Maybe that was because of the way she was looking intently into his eyes. But he gathered his courage, and started explaining :
« All right. I've been learning feelings lately... Since I've known you, and Naruto, and Yamato, Ino and the others... I've felt friendship, joy, sorrow, happiness, for the first time in many years. But... There is something I just don't understand. Could you tell me why every time I see you, I feel like nothing could be more beautiful in the world, why I can tell your voice, your pace, your figure from anybody else's, why even when you are away, everything I see reminds me of you, and why whenever I try drawing, it's your face that arises from my pencil... Can you tell me why you are so different to me from others ? »
Sakura contemplated him, then, a radiant smile appeared on her lips. She leaned slowly towards Sai, and gently brushed her lips to his :
« I think I can tell you... Because you make me feel the same. That's called love. »
Another little oneshot that me to my mind before I fell asleep... Did you like it ??
