Well, my lovelies, have a drabble. Wrote this just now. It was really just a way for me to let out my feelings . . . . but hey, if you like it, then that's cool. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: I still don't own Kingdom Hearts. All I have is a copy of CoM and a chocobo named Zemyx. Anyone own it here? No? Hokai then. No sueing, please.
Lose Your Way
by ShadowAili
Riku walked in darkness. It was a part of him. He knew it like he knew himself, and after all he'd been through he thought he knew himself quite well.
But now he was lost.
Lost? It wasn't possible. He was a part of the darkness, it was his home, and he most definitely did not lose his way in it.
But now he was lost.
Frantically he tugged the blindfold off his eyes and looked around for something, anything, some way to find his way. It had to be a fluke. Just this one part of the darkness. Soon he'd be fine, perfectly at home again.
But now he was lost.
His eyes sought frantically, but they were blinded here in the eternal dark, and he threw back his head and screamed. No, no, this couldn't be happening. He knew the darkness too well for this to happen.
But now he was lost.
Tears sprang unbidden to his useless eyes. It couldn't end like this. He was going to help Sora, and Kairi, and everyone. He was going to be a hero. He had to atone for his sins.
But now he was lost.
Sora. Sora. He just wanted to help Sora, that was all. To hell with the others, he just wanted to know his way long enough to help Sora. That was the only thing that mattered, above all else.
But now he was lost.
Sora was all that mattered. He'd always been all that mattered. Even when Kairi had come along, and suddenly Riku didn't have Sora all to himself anymore, the brunette was the only thing he'd ever wanted to keep safe. He had to help Sora.
But now he was lost.
Riku tripped and fell, and went still. Might as well stop fighting it. He was a failure anyway. That was why he hadn't been able to hold Sora, to keep him near and safe.
He was lost. Completely and utterly lost.
He let out a shuddering sigh. He was going to die here. He was going to be overwhelmed by darkness and nothing would matter, it never mattered. He was going to die alone.
Alone and lost.
He'd always been afraid of this. That he would be alone, lost, and no one would care, it wouldn't matter. But he'd mattered to Sora. Even if he wasn't the thing that absolutely mattered most to Sora, he'd mattered to Sora. And Sora was perfect.
Sora wouldn't have gotten lost.
Sora didn't need Riku. Sora'd be fine, he was Sora. But . . . . Sora would miss him. Sora would. Riku knew that without a doubt, they were too close for him not to. Sora would find Riku. He always would.
Riku was never so lost that Sora wouldn't find him, even if he had to move heaven and earth to do it.
He got up and tugged the blindfold back over his eyes. He always had to stay ahead of Sora. Because if he didn't stay ahead, Sora might leave him behind, and that would be unbearable. He had to be the strong one. He had to be the one to help Sora. Let Sora help everyone. He would help Sora.
He wasn't lost anymore.
Riku walked on through the darkness, searching for an answer he could never seem to find.
I feel better. sighs Hope you liked, lovelies. Will now return to my other fics.
