Summary: Overwhelmed with guilt, Danny turns evil. Now that the world has officially gone blank Sam, Tucker and Jazz have to save Danny. But what exactly are they saving him from?

Disclaimer: Oh yes we must put this in. I do not own Danny Phantom yadda, yadda, yadda.

The ebony haired young lady walked out of the back door, her soft feat making little sound on the grass. She walked deep into the back of the garden until she reached a large bush which covered her destination. Slowly and carefully, she moved the bush slightly and managed to push herself through the and into her special area.

Before her was a small pond with small fish inside and a small waterfall dropping into it. Around her were many bushes and flowers with mostly dark-coloured petals. Though the plants were a little overgrown and in need of tidying up this was Sam's place of peace.

Sam sat on a rock which she thought was appropriate to be her stool and smoothed out the skirt of her black dress. Her tired amethyst eyes examined her area of peace. This overgrown and untouched area of her garden resembled tranquility though when most people look at it they all want it to look perfect with perfectly trimmed branches and neat flowerbeds.

Abnormal and messy things are beautiful in its own way.

She smiled weakly at the fish which were swimming in their pond in a rather energetic fashion. Their shimmering bodies glided through the water without a care in the world... Sam almost envied their careless way of life.

Looking back, she never had a nice life like she really wanted. Sure, her parents were wealthy and she had a mansion but when you think, really think, you ask yourself, 'Is this what happiness is?', and the answer is always going to be the same, no matter what. You'll always hear your heart screaming, 'NO!'

And it's true. Money can buy a lot but never true happiness. Like spending endless hours with friends or laying back in the grass without a care in the world. You never feel that... And it makes you wonder if being alive really has its perks. The world today is corrupted along with the people in it. But no-one cares anymore. Blank thoughts and dead eyes are all the rage these days, so it would seem.

Sam hung on desperately to her sanity, though. She didn't want to turn out like most of them were... Mindless drones following his every command. Those who saw no more point in life (which is the majority of the world) surrendered to him and helped in his blatant plan to own the world.

Fighting back tears, Sam closed her eyes tightly. It was so stupid... Why did he have to be evil? Why did he have to ever go? It wasn't fair.

After sitting in silence for a moment with her eyes closed, Sam suddenly heard her back door slam open and foot steps walk out.

Sam opened her eyes and terror took over her mind. He finally did it. He finally sent his drones after her to take her to him. She curled herself in a ball awaiting there shouts of 'We found her!' and 'Quickly! Bag her and take her back!'

Sam trembled and heard the foot steps come closer. The bushes which she had gone through moved and the branches snapped from the force. Whoever just managed to reach Sam gasped in shock and shook Sam's shoulder.

“Sam!” An all to familiar voice cried out in relief.

Her eyes widened and she lifted her head to see Tucker's turquoise eyes staring into her own violet ones. “T-Tucker?” She whispered in disbelief, her hands shaking slightly.

He nodded and swallowed her in a huge hug. “God we thought you were gone when we couldn't find you in your house.” He explained, hugging her tightly.

“We?” She whispered, unwrapping her arms around Tucker and smoothing out her hair.

“Jazz is here... She's inside looking for you.” He said, turning back to the bushes and stepping through them with slight difficulty. Sam followed in confusion, pulling out of the branches.

“Wait, what are we doing?” Sam asked quickly, catching up to Tucker. She hadn't seen him in months and now they were rushing around her house searching for her.

He stopped and looked at her darkly, sighing. He was troubled with his own thoughts, Sam noted, and was in need of some time to think about what he should say. “Sam,” he began, tiredness and sadness evident in his voice. “You can't just stay here. What if it was his followers who just found you and not me? We can't let you stay here, it's too much of a risk.”

He was right. If she did stay here there was no guarantee for her safety. Tucker found her easily in the bushes and a ghost could do it with little to no difficulty. Sam nearly shuddered at the thought of facing him again.

She nodded and they walked back to the white stone mansion. Inside a lady with long red hair was rushing around, searching for anything that could help them find Sam. Too busy searching, Jazz didn't even notice the two entering the mansion.

“Jazz it's ok, Sam is here!” Tucker said, grabbing her shoulder and turning her to Sam. The girl's eyes lit up with relief and she hugged her much like Tucker had.

“We were so worried when we couldn't find you!” Jazz cried, releasing her hold on the girl who appeared to be nearly choking from her intense grip.

Sam smiled reassuringly at Jazz and swallowed deeply. They hadn't seen each other in a long while and it was almost scary to meet again under such circumstances. Last time Sam saw her it was Christmas and they were all celebrating with laughs and good times. Now it seemed that life had taken a turn for the worse and the world was in a state of blank.

“We should go!” Jazz exclaimed, looking at the watch on her wrist and exciting the halls and towards the door. “They could be here in any minute.”

Tucker nodded and looked back at Sam whose eyes were clouded with confusion. This wasn't exactly the type of reunion they should be having but Sam dealt with it anyway. Weak or strong... Sam could handle it.

Looking back at her garden and sanctuary one last time, Sam uttered words she never wanted to say. “Lets get out of here...”

The three sat in silence as Tucker sped through the empty streets in his blue car. Jazz was sitting in the passenger seat and Sam was sitting in the back seat behind Tucker, staring solemnly out towards the dark sky of Amity Park.

Jazz was taking a power nap while Tucker struggled to keep his eyes open from lack of sleep. He couldn't help but worry over the situation he and the others were in. Their best friend... Evil? It was so terrifying in many ways Tucker couldn't describe. Danny was always doing good for the town even though at times it always appeared that he wasn't. It was the guilt, Jazz had concluded. The pain of what he could've done many months ago...

“Tucker,” Came Sam's barely audible voice.

“Yeah?” Tucker replied, looking in the mirror at Sam who was still staring out of the window.

“Where are we going?” She asked, still searching for an answer in the misery of Amity Park.

“My place.”

She nodded even though he didn't see and they both fell silent. The hum of the car's engine soothed Sam even though thoughts were rushing in and out of her head at a mile a minute. She didn't know if she should be relieved or distraught about... Everything really. She could have stayed at home and forgotten about Danny and the world but was dragged back into this mess again. Maybe if she helped along with Tucker and Jazz they could sort out all of this mess for good.

It seemed as soon as a slightly acceptable thought entered her head everything else had to crash down when a massive green glowing orb hit and car and devilish laughter filled her hearing.

Jazz awoke from her calm nap and screamed in shock while Tucker turned the steering wheel violently to avoid a building. Everything was silent for the moment, the car obviously wouldn't start and everyone was in shock.

It was then when Tucker saw another green orb flying towards them. “Get out! Get out!” He ordered and they all dived out of the car. The car exploded and Sam instinctively covered her head with her arms. When the explosion slowed the three looked up to meet the gaze of three unknown ghosts. They were all green and had frightening grins on their horrible, twisted faces.

Tucker sprung to his feet and said the most logical thing when in a situation like they were in, “Run!” Jazz and Sam followed and sprinted blindly down the isolated streets of Amity Park. The ghosts laughed harder and shot massive green blasts of ectoplasm at them, only narrowly missing them. After three more arbitrary turns made by Tucker the three managed to run onto the same street Fenton-Works was on.

With nothing else to do the three ran into the abandoned building once known as Jazz's home and Tucker's and Sam's hangout. With no fear of what memories the house could bring Tucker darted towards the lab immediately. Seeing no point in waiting for him the girls ran down too, searching madly for any ghost related equipment which could assist them.

Jazz succeeded in finding a thermos and Tucker found two small ecto-blasters. Throwing one to Sam, Tucker adopted a defensive position with his blaster and awaited the return of the ghosts. Seconds turned to minutes until it was clear that there were no ghosts in site.

Jazz slumped down onto a stool in defeat and Tucker leaned against the wall, panting from all of the running. Sam looked down at the floor and felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. Sam couldn't remember the last time she had fought a ghost, let alone without the help from Danny.

She closed her eyes and let out a long breath of air. Jazz held on tightly to the thermos and Tucker stood still. Sam knew their friendship was strong, there was no doubt in that, but she pondered on the same question when she thought about the emptiness in the world. 'How long would it be until one of them cracked under pressure?'

“We should go.” Came Tucker's voice of emotion. It seemed that being in the presence of his house disturbed him. Jazz nodded sadly and walked behind him up the stairs.

Sam shook her head in disbelief. The world was gone...

They were all sitting in Tucker's house now. They arrived after walking for half an hour from Fenton-Works. The ghosts had gone now and they hadn't seen a single person walk the deadly silent streets.

Tucker was the first to speak out of all of them. “This is insane.” He said, sitting down on his couch. “We've got to do something. Did you see the streets? This is the worst it has ever been!” He cried, stress overwhelming him.

“We've got to get my little brother back.” Jazz said, attempting to be strong though she felt anything but it.

Sam remained silent as they watched her, waiting to see if she would help them. Her life was just full of twists and turns. She could fight and lose or she could do nothing... and lose. It seemed to be a win-win situation for Danny but for them, no-one seemed to be on their side. She may as well just try then back out. Besides, it was for a good cause. 'Yeah, if you call the world before good.' She thought dryly.

“I'll help.” She agreed weakly, smiling up at them. They all smiled for the first time in months and silently agreed to help each other. They knew it would be a long journey but it was worth a shot. They weren't giving up just yet.

Laughter filled Tucker's house as two girls giggled at Tucker's ridiculous accident. Flour was all over his head and shoulders due to knocking it while getting something under the sink. He had left it on the side carelessly for no known reason.

“Nice one Tucker!” Sam sniggered, “You look like a snowman!”

Tucker frowned and glared playfully at the two girls. Jazz grinned wildly at him and laughed harder. Tucker walked over to a mirror which was in the hall and looked at his appearance. He blinked at his reflection before he burst out laughing. The girls, still giggling madly, ran into the hall with the remaining flour and dumped it over his head.

He didn't seemed fazed by this and they all collapsed from laughter. Jazz was still in a fit of giggles when Sam heard a whisper in her ear by an invisible form. “Enjoy your fun while it lasts, Sammy.”

Sam nearly choked on her laughter and looked behind her to see... nothing? Tucker noticed her sudden movements and gave her a worried look. “Sam, are you OK?” She nodded slowly and turned back to him with a forced smile.

“Yeah... Just hearing things.” He nodded though still didn't believe her. Sam walked out towards the front door before she turned back to them. “I just need to get out for a bit.”

“Be careful.” Jazz warned, her laughter sliding away to concern. Sam nodded and turned back to the door, walking slowly and carefully out into the open. She sat on the brick steps and sighed, watching the overcast sky.

She had always dreaded the day she'd here his voice again. She knew she'd have to see him again... She wanted to. She missed him so much and he hadn't said anything to her before he left. She put her head in her hands and sighed deeply. Nothing would change.

“You haven't changed much.” A voice informed her. She went stiff and swallowed. She wasn't hearing things!

“Thanks for pointing that out.” She spat sarcastically. He grinned though she couldn't see it and took her wrist. She flinched and tried to pull her wrist out of his tight grip but couldn't. He materialized and she nearly jumped out of her skin.

Nothing had changed really but his eyes. Instead of being there usual emerald green the were red. He noticed her shock and smirked, pulling her to her feet. Her breath was caught in her throat when he looked at her almost... lovingly? There little 'moment' was interrupted by an ecto-blast courtesy of Tucker and a yelp of shock from Jazz behind him.

The blast missed him and he glared at them before whispering something in Sam's ear.

He turned invisible and flew off leaving Sam to fall to the ground in surprise.

'Expect the unexpected, Sammy.'

Ok... That was the dumbest thing I have ever written. AH WELL! (Stares at readers) Review! Don't be lazy, I need to know how you feel.

Why he is evil is explained in the next chapter. The title is from the song 'Tomorrow Comes Today' by the Gorillaz. Ooh and the last sentence was from a show... I won't say though because it's embarrassing.

I have Author's note block. XD Reviews are appreciated.

Rishi.
