kso this is another short chapter, but i had to post something else for y'all. the next one will be longer, i promise. anyways, um..i'm currently trying to post LOTS of new chapters of my stories that i've kinda ignored for a while.
the next one i plan on is the 'CSI: Road Trip' story.
and then hopefully i can get something up for the 'Sequel to Untitled'
speaking of that story, i need to also re-read that one and come up with a title.
remind me to do that.
anyways, back on topic now.
i'm updating 'Road Trip' next, hopefully, and then the 'Sequel'
and, just sos y'all know, don't hold me to all of this.
i have finals coming up and i need to make sure i'm passing all of my classes cuz if i fail the final and fail the quarter i'm screwed.
but i'll try, i promise.
sooo, enough of my rambling.
enjoy.
Las Vegas Crime Lab
When they arrived at the lab, Nick was immediately put on a case while Madison and Lindsey walked around getting stared at. When they passed the AV lab, Hodges, Archie, Bobby, and Greg were watching a video on the computer. Everyone but Greg was laughing, and Hodges was almost crying. “What’re y’all laughin’ at?” Madison asked. They all looked.
“Woah, what happened to you two?” Archie asked.
“Fight.” They responded in unison.
“On your first day, Madison?” Bobby asked.
“Yeah.” she responded with a slight laugh.
“Didja win?” Hodges asked.
“Duh.” Lindsey said.
“Yeah, duh.” Madison said. “I didn’t bust up my arm for nothin’.”
“You go girl.” Hodges said.
“Amen to that.” Bobby gave her a high-five.
“Wanna watch the video with us?” Archie asked.
“What of?” Lindsey asked.
“Greg all messed up on meds.” Hodges laughed.
“It’s not that funny, guys. You’re laughin cuz I almost got killed.” Greg defended himself.
“Actually, we’re not. We’re laughing because those trainee doctors gave you too much medication and you were acting high, drunk, and stoned all at the same time.” Hodges started to crack up again.
“That’s mean...” Madison said. Archie played the video and Greg’s bruised face appeared and started babbling like a 6-month-old baby. Madison giggled. “Okay, maybe it’s a little funny...”
“Thanks for backing me up.” Greg said jokingly.
“Anytime.” Madison laughed.
The five of them watched the video multiple times and imitated Greg every single time. They even got him to laugh a few times.
But, their fun was cut short when Warrick came in with evidence that needed processing. “Hey Archie, I need...” he started. He noticed what was on the screen and sighed. “Are you watching the Greg on Drugs video again?” he asked.
“Yup.” Hodges said.
“Well, I need tapes processed. Greg, Cath needs you to process swabs and some other things.” Warrick explained.
“Grissom’s got you workin’ cases together again? Jeez, doesn’t he realize it’ll never get done?” Nick joked as he walked by.
“Y’know what, Nicky? I could say some really rude and embarrassing things about you right now. But your daughter is in the room, so I’ll refrain.” Warrick retaliated.
“Yeah, sure ya could.” Nick laughed.
“Kay, well, I’m gunna head off to test some swabs like in the good-ole-days.” Greg said sarcastically.
“Can we go with you, Greg?” Lindsey asked. “The machines make funny noises.”
Greg laughed at her. “Sure.”
Madison followed Lindsey and Greg to the DNA lab where there was a crowded table in the back corner covered with CD players, CDs, an old-school radio, magazines, hoodies, pictures, and a bunch of other things it was probably in everyone’s best interest not to ask about. Madison wandered to the table and picked up a set of pictures. They were all of people from the lab, but on the beach. The first was of the group in the ocean messing around like teenagers in a movie. After that was a photo of Greg, Nick, Warrick, and Grissom all holding a brunette wearing cut-off shorts and a brown bikini top across their arms. She was laughing with them and placing her matching brown cowboy hat on Greg’s head. Madison laughed under her breath and continued to flip through the pictures. Greg looked over her shoulder and smiled as she looked through the pictures. When Madison finished, she turned around and jumped. “Jesus! Tryna give me a heart attack?!” she laughed.
“Sorry. I was looking with you.” He said.
“It’s fine. They’re good pictures.” Madison said, picking them up again and finding the one with the brunette.
“Those are from our group trip last year. We went all the way across the country and back by car.” Greg explained.
“Looks fun.” She pulled out the picture. “Who’s the girl they’re all holding?”
He looked at the picture and responded “Oh, that’s my girlfriend.”
“She’s pretty.” Madison said. Greg smiled and went back to work.
Madison put the pictures back and went to sit with Lindsey.
“Greg, test these for me when you’re done.” Nick dropped swabs on the desk.
“Sure.” Greg answered instantly, as if on instinct.
Nick left without further words, and everything was quiet again.
About an hour later, Madison’s eyes drifted away from her laptop screen to her father, who was laughing with a woman in the hallway. “Hey, Linds, who’s that?” she pointed.
“Oh, that’s Robin Childs. She’s a lawyer. She totally wants your dad, to.” Lindsey responded.
“Oh.”
“Yeah. She’s that girl from science class’s mom. Abigail Childs. Remember her? You called her stupid today.”
“Hah. Yeah, I remember her.”
“She doesn’t like you too much.” Lindsey said.
Robin looked over at Madison. Madison stared back at her, long enough to see her dirty look, and then looked away. She chuckled. “Her momma don’t like me neither.”
