She sneaked through the hallway, the darkness making her feel almost as if she was going to make it. No one could possibly be able to catch her, no one, they were all out, or at least it seemed that way. There it was, the window. Large enough for her to escape, small enough to make sure nobody would notice it’s opening. She looked through the window, car lights flashing to call her out. She smiled and opened the window putting one leg through.

“Where are you going?” She froze. Turning slowly around she saw it was her brother.

“None of your business!” She told him coarsely.

“Gee, Alana, I don’t think Mom and Dad will like that excuse much, maybe they won’t find out for say, a twenty?” Her younger brother suggested.

“What? Ugh! Fine.” Alana, shrugged. Pulling out a twenty dollar bill she scoffed to him once more,

“Mark my words, Jay, you will pay.” Jay happily took the money from her hand and pushed it into his pocket.

“Jay, Alana, since when do you think you can get away with this? You do have super hero parents, after all.” Richard came into the room, his arms crossed across his chest and a questioning look on his face.

“Uh, hi Daddy!” Alana said smiling and waving her hand.

“Alana is trying to sneak out to see her boyfriend again!” Jay yelled.

“You little- I’ll kill you!” Alana cried and began to tackle her brother in a fit of fury.

“Alana! Jay! Cut it out! Alana you can’t go out with Alex tonight! It’s a school night! Get back to bed!” Richard called at his children his long hair flew behind him as he briskly turned and pointed out the door to the direction of their rooms.

“But Dad…”

“GO!”

“Err…”

“This is all your fault, Dork!” Alana said after they had left the room, Richard smiled and put his head out the window.

“Sorry Alex, she can’t go out tonight!” He called out, and the car had left the driveway.

Raven slowly came into the room; her long violet hair was a mess and her slightly short nightgown hung just to her knees in a wrinkled fashion.

“Let me guess, you just woke up?” He smiled at her. Raven nodded and yawned. As she stretched he could see her slender thighs and the slight shape of her shapely curves. Raven corked an eyebrow when she was done he was still staring.

“What? Do I have a stain on my nightgown? Is there some creature on me? Have a simultaneously gained 500 pounds and your looking at my weight? What?!” Raven asked him.

“Your beautiful, you know that?” Richard asked her.

“You’re just trying to butter me up. Come back to bed and let’s get some sleep.” He accepted and they both walked down the hall to their rooms.

Alana was very flustered. She was in the middle of brushing her hair, the purple bangs from her previous ponytail hung out in a slight curved fashion. The purple ends of it lightly being massaged by her brush. Still she was flustered.

“If I wanna go out with Alex, I should be able to go out with Alex! ‘No Alana you can’t go out with your very nice and not rapist boyfriend, Alex. Even though you totally saved our freaking lives when you were only three, and let your dumbass little brother take your twenty even though you are 16 and can take care of yourself!’ Ah! Parents can be so dumb!” Alana yelled and pushed herself onto her bed, she wished that she still lived in the tower with all the cool stuff, she felt more grown up there, being the oldest kid in the place. Starfire kept having kid after kid, as of a tradition on her home planet to have many, many kids. All of the mini Starfires and mini Speedys running around shooting beams and arrows with super strength and top fitness drove her family mad. So they moved into this place. There were three floors including the basement. Her parents still fought crime, but she didn’t. She was too young. Apparently martial arts training since she was four and being a first degree black belt did not matter, she had even trained with Bruce Wayne for four summers and still was not aloud to do any crime stopping!

“Yea, parents can be pretty stupid some times.” Alana quickly looked around, she saw no one there. She assumed she had heard things.

“I have powers too! Awesome ones and still, ‘Allie, you know it’s only because we love you, not because we want to make you hate us.’ Please, you’ve done too good a job at making me hate you for me not to at least think it!” Alana cried and sat up on her bed, turning on her lamp.

“No kidding! So, your name is Allie?” It was that voice again. The one she had heard earlier. This time, she was definitely not hearing things.

“What? Who was that? Where are you?” She stated quickly standing up.

“Oh yea, your dating that kid, you called him ‘Alex’ right?” The voice called she was sure it was a boy’s voice.

“It’s a shame, I kinda wanted to go out with you.” The boys voice told her.

“Who are you? Come out now!” She called just above a harsh whisper. She slightly enjoyed the attention from this boy and did not want her parents ruining it.

“Your lovely violet a black locks, such a curvy body, a beautiful face, and a charming ‘Come and get me’ attitude to boot, you’re a walking turn on.” She could almost feel the boy smile at his words.

“Shut up. Come out now.” Alana spat.

“Okay, but only if you close your eyes.” The boy teased.

“I am not going to play some childish games with you, I am 16 years old and am too old for this. Come out now.” She crossed her arms over her chest and put on a serious look.

“Allie, do you mind moving your arms? You blocking a gorgeous view.” He taunted.

“You are intolerable!” She shot and his smile seemed to widen from her words.

Jay happily walked into his room. The twenty in his pocket brightened his day, or more of night and well into the morning the next day. Best of all, he had gotten it from his sister and she got caught anyway. Even though he was only 13 years old, he still loved to have some extra cash for after school.

“Man, can life get any better?” He thought aloud. Suddenly Jay heard some talking coming from his sister’s room.

‘It can get better!’ He thought, but he did not make it to the door to bug Alana, he noticed that he was extremely tired and so he climbed into bed. Using his telekinetic powers the blanket wrapped him in comfort. As his jet-black hair planted itself on the pillow, he closed his deep violet eyes and fell asleep.

“What’s the matter?” Raven asked putting her hands on her hips and corking her brow. Richard looked at her.

“You could always see right through me.” He smiled at her. Raven just rolled her eyes,

“C’mon, tell me what’s the matter.” She pushed.

“I dunno, just some weird feeling like something is wrong, it’s probably just in my head. Good night, Raven.” Richard told her and slumped into bed as she followed suite. Kissing Richard once on the cheek, Raven fell asleep first.

‘No, it’s just in my head, nothing could be wrong. It’s all fine. Still…’ He thought before falling asleep too.
