Grace
I watch you move and breath, mesmerized
So graceful, so impossibly bright
So lethal, such fire and light
Your dance always has me captivated
I really try to push you away
But you refuse to leave, no matter what I may say
You are forcing me to see and remember…
You're as beautiful and unique as a flower in December
It is too hard, to want and never possess
For though you smile and fight by my side
All I have is an unspoken promise
Whispered in a dark corner of my mind
Every day I yearn for a look
That contains more than gratitude
I know I oughtn't to; it's too much to ask
But I'm helpless and hopeless in such a task
Yet... I don't want you to lie
For what I crave most is your heart
Whole and true, belonging to me
So that there I can lay my head... and sleep.
