It had been two full hours since the sun set in Halloweentown. Sally paced the floors inside the Skellington mansion crying and wondering when Jack was going to return. He'd never been this late before without telling her.
The door opened and Jack entered. Sally ran up to Jack and wrapped her arms around him.
"Sally, what's wrong?" Jack asked returning her hug.
"I was so worried," Sally cried. "You were late and you didn't even call."
"I'm sorry," Jack replied. "I couldn't get to a phone. I'm sorry, darling."
"I thought something bad happened to you."
"You have no need to worry," Jack said raising Sally's face up.
"But I do worry because I love you," Sally said.
"I didn't mean to upset you," Jack said wiping away Sally's tears.
