Author’s Note: Sorry, about the delay of the story, my computer had been having trouble lately and I do not know if it is the DS Emulator or the game itself. Serious, I had been playing Digimon Champion on my No$Cash GBA and it had not been having problems until Saturday comes. Here’s another chapter and if you really want to see another chapter, PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW before I delete this story ok. I do not own Sonic from SEGA or Archie, so please do not sue ok.

Chapter 16: Facing your fear

I travel alone in this hollow road to find a way home with accompany by Shahra who trying to convince me into going back with the others. I refuse as I travel to town, city, village, and kingdoms trying my way home. I did not go back, but I was a little confused and I forgot that we both are relative to Black Doom. The curse will never end and I continue to change into hedgehog to human. It is driving me insane and I just want to go back home.

I camp next to the river that leads me to a remote unmark graveyard. “Shadow you have to go back,” said Shahra calmly, “They need you more.” “What do I care?” I said without care, “Sonic did not know it is all a fairytale.” “It is not a fairytale,” she cried to me, “This is reality, we can’t go back home.” I did not say a word to her enjoying my fish and she comes out of my mind, “Shadow…”

I ignore her cries as I went to sleep and I did not wake up the next day as I dream of a kingdom in ruin. I dream the kingdom is ruin with everyone fighting each other, it is a sign to not to returning home, but it is just an illusion. I wake up from my sleep panting and sweating. I felt blood coming out of my palm of my hands and I feel the pain inside of me. I got out of the bed and put everything back inside the bag. I tear a sheet to cover the wounded hands and I heard Sonic’s voice calling me from the distance.

I cannot let my emotions control as I continue to travel alone in this road following the river. I heard someone is crying screaming our former chao’s name Chonic, I continue to ignore the name without any care as I continue my way. I froze as I felt someone breathing under my neck and it smells foul like a chao corpse. “Well, well, Chao Eater meets the Boy again,” said a voice. I turn seeing foul living corpse that reek the air with its skin rotten and its eyes red staring at me. His tail has a sharp mallet that will kill you in an instinct; he is bigger and stronger than before.

I have never been scare in my life after what he did to Chonic is unforgivable and I face him the first time in battle, but it was too strong for me. That is why I am antisocial to Sonic after I come out of the nurse and after my mother dies. I did not want him to know my fear or my emotions over our mother’s death and my hate against those who try to hide it from me. “I smell your fear from here and I sense your troubling past,” said Chao Eater taunting me, “You will never defeat me and you always afraid of me.”

I cannot help, but he is speaking the truth from the beginning and I was afraid of him. He slashes me on the chest to the bark of the tree as it went down. He struggle to get up and Shahra tries to help me, but I continue to ignore her. I felt the pain from my back as I struggle to get up holding my hand to my chest. I stand there is terror as he reveals his mouth on his stomach with his tongue and I never felt weak in my life. “Shadow you have to fight it,” said Shahra as an encouragement, but it is not helping.

“Hedgy gone far away,” it said punching me in the stomach as I was coughing blood from my mouth. Everything becomes so blurry around me with one final blow, everything went black and I did not hear Shahra’s screaming. I wake up in the middle of a hollow shadow and I hear someone is calling my name. I got myself up from a humble graveyard and I turn seeing a tombstone. “Did I just die?” I said to myself in shock seeing my own tombstone. “You just did,” said a hollow dark deep voice.

I turn seeing Death right in front of me staring right in front of me except the fact he is a fox like corpse without any eyes in any socket. “Shadow the Hedgehog,” he said to me cold, “I have been expected you after you die. I did not expect you to die at this age; you were supposed to die at the age older than that. You look more foolish to be afraid of a simple Chao Eater, but you look at your own fear and you cannot even conquer your own fear. You did not… You look shaken do you need something to keep you warm?”

He says it is a harsh manner, but I want to know something about him and he said to me, “Well, boy…” I froze, I have so many questions to ask, but then he said, “Shadow you didn’t know how your own mother died from the beginning.” “How do you know?” I said to him surprise. “I am Death, I know everything except the time,” he said to me drinking tea, “Do you want know what happen?” “Yes,” I said calmly with sighed.

“After your mother protects the kingdom with her own heart after her husband die from a mysterious death by accident,” he explains, “She figured out who is behind killing and suspicion after she uses her last power to protect the kingdom. You and your brother were still young at the time sleeping your room. She rushes into your room before you get a chance to wake up, but you did not due to a spell that prevents you from waking up. She knows her time is up when she wrote a letter before she dies and she fear her own enemy could be her assistant who wants to rule the world with an iron fist. He was the spy from the beginning and I wish you could just exile him because it was your fault for trapping you into this world.” “Tell me WHO?” I said impatient, “Who kill her?” “Eggman,” he replied, “The one who took my powers away and give it to an ignorant hedgehog. The one causes a war and the one who is the cause a war back on Earth and the Next World.”

After he told me the name, I was boiling with anger and I did not know he WAS the one who kill my mother. I thought it was a joke, but he is not kidding and his expression is cold harsh and he knows because he is the Grim Reaper. I was still anger, but I cannot control myself causing me to wake up. “How did you come back to life?” said the Chao Eater in shock, “Why are you so silver?” I did not know that my black fur turns to silver with a golden aura around myself. I come straight to him in anger grabbing him by the tongue, but I said in strange accent, “You thou MOCK me with anger. Thou will die and suffer what thou did to thou innocence…” I aim my hand right in his face and aim one blast killing him. He was still alive trying to get away, but I rip his tail off and beat him up with it. “Who is strong now?” I said slam the tail down to his back and he scream in pain.

I continue to slam his tail down continually until he did not move and Shahra try to stop me, but I keep on going until his body is no more. I drop the tail panting as I went back to normal and I sit down on the bloody ground. Shahra said, “Shadow look.” I look seeing souls of the chao and victims coming out of the body. “Thank you Shadow,” said the chao. “Chonic,” I said surprise before he vanishes.

The Chao Eater did not eat chao alone, but it ate humans too and I was surprises how many souls inside the Chao Eater’s body. They thank me before they gone to the afterlife and I was not afraid anymore after staring at the Chao Eater. “Shadow,” said a voice, I turns to see my own mother smiling at me. “Mother,” I said with tears of joy coming down my face. “Boy,” said a voice, I turns again seeing the Grim Reaper smiling at me too. “Thank you for getting my job back,” he said to me, “Now I can get back gathering souls before the comet comes.” “Comet,” I said confused.

“Black Comet is coming soon, but I will never tell the detail,” said the Grim Reaper with a yawn, “For now, I need to regain back my powers by sending them to afterlife.” “Wait,” I said trying to stop him as I grab him by the robe. “I told you ENOUGH ALREADY!” he said pushing away, “Now leave me alone BOY before you lose your life source.” “Sir,” said my mother to the Grim Reaper, “Please let me talk to my son before I go.” “Fine you only have ten minutes,” said the Grim Reaper skinning the Chao Eater. She comes up to me and she said, “It had been thirteen years and you are still going strong. I don’t have time to explain, but…”

She touches me on my forehead and I could see everything through her thoughts and memories. Everything through childbirth, battle, first love through sadness, her life until she dies and it feels like I was there before. I could feel her trying to tell me something and she only got 9 minutes left until it went black. Her memories, her love, her power, and her heart belong to me now and I know who she is “Princess of the Wind.” “I didn’t tell you from the beginning of time before I died,” she said to me calmly, “I am dead now, but you and your brother are the Princes of the Wind. There is one more thing I would like to add. You have sister who is in danger, she knows as “The Princess of the Light” and I do not know how long will it take for you to reunite with your sister.”

“I will soon find out mother,” I said with a smile, “This is goodbye.” “Yes, until we meet again in the afterlife,” she said as she went straight to Death and whispers to him. “Very well,” said the Grim Reaper carrying the Chao Eater’s remain, he slams the scythe down. The light shine on them from the sky and the gust of wind gather around them. “Goodbye,” she said as they both vanish into the sky. The light stop shining and the wind die down leaving me alone in this humble forest. “It is everything went back to normal,” said Shahra smiling. “Yes, it has,” I said seeing the forest green and the grass growing, “I am guessing the Chao Eater is cause of it.”

We were about to leave, but we both notice there is a Cloak person right in front of us and it is not the Grim Reaper at all. “Who are you?” I said to him. “Don’t you recognize me,” it said to me, but the tone is a little different. “Who are you?” I said serious. We did not move, but we stare at each other and Shahra said suspicious, “Something looks familiar about this character here.”

I am going to leave this chapter as it is, but I will be thinking about doing Ombre Crème II: Lost Souls and I haven’t did a plot yet. I am not sure if I am going to do one of not, but I need a few ideas before doing it. Please if you want Ombre Crème to be here forever, you will have to review it and I would like to have 15 reviews before I continue on. Colleges will begin tomorrow for me and I won't be updating all the stories for a while. Sayonara everyone!
