A/N: Sorry about the delay, the files on my flash drive were corrupted. So I lost everything.

The device connecting Monica and John had begun to work and everyone glanced at the two FBI agents nervously. They were waiting for some sort of sign. A sign that they were still in there, a sign that there was still hope.

“I’m getting a faint reading. It keeps getting stronger,” Byers said. The machine began beeping louder and louder until…it stopped. First Monica opened her eyes and then John.

There was a faint humming noise coming from somewhere, but both John and Monica ignored it. He had pulled her shirt up over her head and was now busy kissing the silky skin it had hidden. Monica was fumbling with his pants zipper. The room around them was starting to blur and the humming sound was growing louder. It was obvious that something was happening, but neither of them were sure what. The pulled apart and looked around. Monica parted her lips to speak but before she could utter a single sound they were yanked out of the room and were now coming back to reality.

When Monica’s eyes opened she expected to see John, she expected his body to be wrapped around hers and she expected to be in the white room. But she was not. John was sitting up in the hospital bed next to hers, Mulder and Scully were looking him over and talking quietly. She did not say anything, instead she waited for them to notice that she was also awake. Eventually they would notice, but until then she was content to sit and watch John smile and occasionally speak.

When the toxicology report came back there was nothing there that shouldn’t have been. When the agents went back to the warehouse they found that it had been torn down overnight. There was no evidence indicating a crime had been committed and there was no way to find out what had really happened when John and Monica had first arrived at the warehouse.

“John, do you remember everything that happened between us when we were…?” Monica trailed off, unsure of where they had been exactly. They had been missing for less than two days but for some reason it had seemed like much longer.

John turned and looked at her with a sly grin on his lips. She wanted to lean in and taste the grin. She wanted to pull his body closer to hers and remind of everything that they had done…even if had all been in their heads. John had backed Monica up against the back wall and had her hands pinned above her head.

“I remember, but it never happened. That’s too bad,” John whispered. Monica giggled and tilted her head to the side, allowing him more access to her neck. They were interrupted by a soft cough coming from the doorway.

“Go home,” Mulder ordered them. He stepped into the small office and took a seat behind the desk that had once belonged to him. Scully came waddling in after him and sat down in her designated chair.

Monica and John darted out of the office and were in the elevator before anything else could be said. What happened in the elevator…well, it stays in the elevator.

A/N: I know, the last chapter was short, but that is just how I bounce. Yeah…so if you thought it was any good go ahead and tell me, now I can finally get started on another idea I have.
