The Tape

Yes, it was only the two of them, Trance and Tyr, left alone on the Andromeda while the others, Dylan, Beka, Harper, and Rommie, were on vacation at a hotel resort. Yes, it was lonely without the other four, but there were also lots to do like running down the hallways, corridors, of the Andromeda and trying to at least lift Tyr’s weights in the gym. That’s all what Trance got to do.

Tyr unfortunately, had to pilot the Andromeda and blast attackers out of space and beyond.

One day on the Andromeda, Trance and Tyr, as usual were bored of doing the same things everyday. There was a slight, but lesser, feeling of curiosity.

In an instant, Trance and Tyr were heading for the machine shop, machine shop 17. As they each went different ways, they didn’t know that they were going to the same destination. Both of them rounded the corners in the corridor and bumped into each other as they weren’t looking.

“Sorry,” the both of them said at the same time, and then bumped into each other again.

Trance raised an eyebrow, “going to machine shop 17 as well?”

Tyr rolled his eyes, “yes, and I suspect that you are too!” he said in surprise.

Trance went first into the tiny room and looked at one of the shelves, while Tyr was messing around with the television set in the room. Trance quickly found a tape and ran over to the television set and played the video.

It showed a white silver ring on it, and suddenly Trance stopped the tape and it went to static.

Trance and Tyr ran into each other trying to get to the other side and into their quarters.

An hour later Trance came back with a second tape and played it. Tyr looked through a crack in the automatic doors and saw the circular shape again.

Another hour went by and the others came back and found that the command deck was turned into a dark, gloomy place.

“Where the heck is my two videos?!” Harper yelled in madness.

As he went through the corridors, he turned around and looked through the doorway of Tyr’s room. There was a slight difference. The television set.

As Harper set back to the command deck, he yelled, “okay, which one of you stole my video tapes?!”

Trance and Tyr turned to each other and bumped into each other and a strike of pain came through the both of them.

“Both of us,” Trance and Tyr both said as they got up.
